Some people didn't like the movie because it strayed away from the anime. But c'mon people they have to cut it down. I understand the reason. I watched this with family members who didn't even know what attack on titan is. They loved it !! Its nasty gory and graphic with some great effects. My subwoofer was working overtime !

I think they did a good job, coming up with an original story and making this into a live action movie. It wasn't mind blowing, but i thought it was good.

I liked the movie, they aren't completely faithful to the anime but it was close enough that I watched (and enjoyed) it several times. Worth picking up.

I have been waiting a long time to see this movie, and I was not able to see it in theaters. I just wish they released both discs at the same time.

I recommend this live action film (part 1 of 2) mainly to fans of the hugely popular anime series. One can tell that the hokey script is more geared towards an Asian audience, the production values just aren't up to par with what many of us expect from Western studios. I did enjoy the epic vision the epic vision of the movie and fans of giant monster movies should definitely find something despite the cheesy special efx. I give it 3-1/2 stars

The "Attack on Titan" series is pretty awesome! The live action movies are cool to watch, but the animated series is way better.

I am a big fan of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) whichever you want to call it, but this film could have been better. I was disappointed, actually, the effects weren't the best; but I could have been okay with that. The changes they made to the story and universe went WAY too far, though. Even though I'm an AoT fan, I'm not sure whether I'll get the rest of the movie. At best, I only recommend it for AoT fans.

This is a good take on the manga and anime with extreme creative liberties taken. The underlying and critical main characters are rewritten entirely with drastic changes. If you are a die hard that loved the anime and manga the changes will be hard to swallow. The cinematography, cgi, and production quality are very well done that stays true to the style which somewhat makes up for the overall direction.

I really like the anime movie so when this came out I really got excited movie was great I can't wait for the second part

This first part was a stunner. Made me squirm & feel like a helpless infant.. once the carnage begins there is no letup. The titans are absolutely terrifying! Im not a fan of the anime episodes but i had to see this in live action.. it NEVER disappointed me.

I never saw the anime series but I love this live action movie. I'm looking forward to watching the sequel.

I saw this movie at the movie theater it was limited showing, it is based on the anime, my daughter really enjoyed it, me who knew nothing about it when we saw it, I have to admit I found it interesting and rather enjoyed it

For a live action movie on this anime it was pretty good. Worth getting and watching.

The concept is good, the acting was bad. Also, they really should have made one long movie with part 2, which is required. so they make you buy 2 discs for $40. is it worth buying, not at that price. making it a 2 disc set for $25 would have been better. I say pass this one up. rent it, borrow it, don't buy it.
