Better than M50!!

I’ve had these headphones for nearly 2 years now, and they are sooo good!!! I thought they sounded a little bit tinny to start out, but I was so used to the bass heavy cheaper headphones you find at all the stores. These have the classic clarity of Audio-Technica, but they’ve boosted the low mids and the bass just enough to give the music a realistic sound. I’ve always thought the M50x was too tinny and didn’t have enough low end. These tone down the treble and boost the low end while keeping the clarity.
I listen to a lot of hard rock and metal. That’s asking a lot from most headphones, and most just don’t cut it. The bass usually is all mushed together and the mids are just there with no real mass to them. These WS1100’s have the clear highs, punchy bass and strong mids that I’ve been looking for. I literally don’t have anything bad to say about them.

At first, I thought that the headphone would be a bit uncomfortable due to the amount of clamp that it causes, but the headphone is actually quite comfortable with the clamp not causing too many problems. It's much more comfortable than using the Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro (which I used before I got this headphone), and since I wear glasses, this ATH-ATH-WS1100IS is way more comfortable than the Custom One Pro. I would go to say that it's personally more comfortable than the SHP9500, but other users may disagree with me on that. If your headsize is a little larger, maybe you should re-consider the purchase, but I still think that the clamp will still be fine. The problem is that the size from the ears to the top of the headband is small, so if your head is more on the longish end, I can see where it would be difficult to put these headphones on.

I'm by no means an audiophile, but I can appreciate sound and know very well that these headphones destroy a pair of Beats in every conceivable way.
QUALITY: These things are built incredibly well, the headband is metal all the way through (The same can't be said for my Sennheisers that cost twice as much), and the 90 degree collapsible hinge feels solid and secure. The outsides of the headphones have a cool design on them that looks awesome but not cheesy, and the pads are solid and don't feel like they'll break down anytime soon. My big complaint here is the cable- It's obviously meant for mobile use, and it sucks. Splurge an extra $10 on a nice braided Anker cable (I got a 4ft red braided cable from amazon, Best Buy's wolfwire is great too), and all your issues will be solved.
COMFORT: Upon first putting these things on, they were amazingly comfy. The pads are PERFECT, not hot or problematic at all, and feels perfect on my really fat head. The issue here is that the headband is too flat- it doesnt arch enough to fit my head, so they rest on my head and hurt the top of it. The solution I found was to bend them, where you bend the headphones past each other in the opposite direction to create more of an arch. I also ordered the headpads for the Sennheiser HD600 and attached it to the headband with velcro, they're amazingly comfortable now.
SOUND: Alright, here's where these things really shine. They're called SOLID BASS for a reason, and they really do have solid bass. Drums sound deep and awesome, and the bass drum in songs really just makes me absolutely grin. These are the only headphones I've ever heard that make me feel like I'm next to a subwoofer. Plugged into my phone (Galaxy S8), they sound amazingly clear and have a very warm sound, albeit the cymbals are a bit more noticeable than my HD650. Mids are clear and make rock and metal sound GREAT, and highs are accurate and sharp. No complaints for sound at all, and they sound EPIC compared to my buddy's beats with surprisingly worse bass that sounds considerably more muddy.
My only two cons are the headband and cable. Both issues solved for a total of $15, which makes these headphones more than worth their price. If you're looking for some awesome headphones that can boom some bass, you're going to love these things.

Low Tone Headphones!

I'll start with the positives, Very very comfortable! Not too shabby looking, love the look of these. No proprietary cable. The bass is definitely there, but not over-powering. The clarity is pretty good.
Now onto the bad, and the main reason I had to return them, the tone was low on everything I tried, and I just couldn't bare listening to music with it. Gaming good, music bad. It just sucked the life out of everything when it came to music. Was looking to replace some Audio-Technica ATH-M40x, which I really enjoyed, but they only lasted about a year and a half, the ear piece broke off one day when I was putting them on, so quality isn't so great with them, but other than that, they were great. Also the WS1100IS are a little hard to drive for being portable, light weight yes, microphone on cord, ok, but a tad bit hard to drive on phone and on PC. Returned them after first day.
