Great turntable

I had purchased one that was part of a package, but it was horrible. The speed would change and the cartridge was ceramic and sounded screechy. I wanted one like the one that had died of old age. I found this Audio-Technica with a magnetic cartridge. It is perfect for my use and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to listen to old LPs.

Light Weight Turntable - Good but not Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, I'm still mourning my old Technics turntable but this is really light weight with no needle height adjustment. If you want to play new vinyl (why?), it'll be great. If you want to play your old vinyl, you probably will need to use about a one gram weight - like taping a cotton swab to the tone arm. With the extra weight, it plays old vinyl quite well.

I have an old player from the 1980s and my son wanted one for his room. I was impressed by the construction, automatic play, good sound and how great it looks. Yes it's not a high end player and you may not be able to swap out the needle, but how often do you need to?
