HDMI cables are not all the same and I'm not just speaking in terms of their version 1.0, 1.1, 1.2...2.0. 2.1 - up to and including this AudioQuest Cinnamon's version: HDCP 2.2. If I focus just on 4K UHD content, I want peace of mind in my HDMI interconnects. I paid up for a decent TV/Monitor, AVR, UHD Blu-ray Player, etc. and don't want any extra variables or unreliability in the video/audio chain [the sole purpose of this particular cable]. Folks having issues with synchronization (dialogue so far off it sounds like a 70's Kung Fu movie), imaging (spouse asking "so why did we go 4K...I can't see any difference")...is all bad news. Not always attributed to lesser expensive HDMI cables but my opinion is that I'll do everything I can to avoid these pitfalls and this brand and cable level are very dependable. I've had no issues and even upgraded from their Forest line when I moved to 4K to ensure that reliability. Those Forest HDMI cables are now used in another theater application and have replaced lesser quality cables (kind of an across the house upgrade since these operate today like they were new). I haven't A/B tested the Cinnamon line and don't need to- they sound wonderful to my ears and delight the eyes. Very well constructed with great shielding and they look cool too (like admiring the wiring in a muscle car's engine kind of way). I own two currently in 1m and 2m lengths and am a big admirer of AudioQuest.

High-speed HDMI 2.0 cables with HDCP 2.2 compatibility are required for the new HDR 4K TV's. Yes, these are digital signals that should not degrade or be terribly affected by the 'quality' of a cable, or how much silver content is used to make it... BUT - I tried using cheap HDMI cables with my 10-year old 1080P TV, and definitely experienced artifacts and dropouts until I installed a higher-grade cable, even on this simpler signal that should work with lower signal-to-noise ratios than 4K will ever tolerate. Also, my older TV will lose compliance with DirecTV DVR more often with the cheap cable, requiring reboot of the TV to regain video connection. This cable was purchased alongside a new 4K TV, and has worked wonderfully since purchase. NO noticeable cable-related noise issues so far, or losing compliance with the same DVR's copy protection circuitry, either. So all I can tell you is - - I am satisfied with this product, and feel it is a justifiable price when you are pairing it with a new, state-of-the-art 4K TV. I do, however, doubt there is much (if any) reason to spend more for a comparable length, high-speed HDMI cable - even from AudioQuest. Hope that helps.....

Originally got the Forest 2m HDMI cables to use with my blu ray player. They are amazing cables!! Don't get me wrong at all. But, I recently got a brand new LED 120hz HDTV and decided to use the Forest HDMI cable for my HD DVR Cable Box. Looks great with it!! So, after researching and reading online reviews. I settled on buying a new pair of Cinnamon HDMI cables. What a huge difference. Like one of the other reviewers said,"Like Night and Day!" It is...Don't let others lead you to believe that cables are cables. With all the new advancements in HDTV's you truly need a faster cable to handle the 120hz on up to 600hz HDTV's. And this is a newer 1.4 cable!! I am amazed at the color rendition across the whole spectrum. The contrast is amazing, the shadows are realistic, the blacks are nice and dark where they are suppose to be now. And the brights are natural and not overdriven. I would easily tell my friends and family if they are planning on buying a new 120hz, 240hz, or even a 480hz LCD or LED-LCD or plasma to invest in these great cables!!

Went into the store because I was complaining about the picture cutting out and not looking as good as they do in the store on my brand new week old lg oledc8 and the salesman told me I needed to buy this upgraded cable. When asked if it would make a difference I was assured it would be night and day. Well let me tell you there is no difference between this cable and a 9$ cable picture wise . Was also told it makes a difference with audio if you have a full on surround sound but I wouldn’t know I only have a sound bar and a subwoofer. But if you have money flowing out your ears and don’t know what to do with it then buy these cables. If you want to save some money listen to the internet and buy a high speed 4k capable cable for 9$ and you’ll be just fine and take your significant other out.

I decided my MartinLogan speakers, Pioneer AVR, and Elite Blu Ray should have the best and decided to put these cables to the test. Using Avatar 3d, Rise of the Guardians, and for 2d 7.1 surround sound, Transformers:Dark of the moon. I tried three sets of cables and because I cannot mention the name, lets just say there was no difference between these cables and the $10 short cables, and $40 RED colored long-run cables that were tested against these. I know this is going to get down voted because of this negative review, but its the truth. Pretty colors and gold plating do not make a product this simple, worth gold. I honestly believe this is the first negative review I have ever given, here or anywhere.

      Hi DRaven72,

Sorry to read that you saw or heard no difference with our HDMI cable compared to others. That's not usually the case, as many reviews here will confirm.

It may well be a case that the cable was not given a chance to fully break-in. ALL cables perform better once they've been broken-in, and unless the cables is fitted with DBS, the only way to break the cable in is to use it. Or buy a cable break-in device.

Hopefully you'll get the opportunity to give our cables another go in the future.

I believe I was suckered into buying this expensive cable when purchasing a 4k TV. When I asked if my new Samsung 4K tv came with an HDMI, he said yes, but I would need a special HDMI in order to get the full potential. By this point, I was already a few thousand dollars into my purchase, therefore I wasn't going to turn back so I added these expensive wires. When I got home I did my research and found out that basically any HDMI cable that says High Speed HDMI, will support 4k. Also, that the more expensive variety are only really necessary when your TV is a far distance from the equipment. I feel that I was suckered into an extra $100 worth of cords.

I have had nothing but good connection, solid audio and hassle free installation. I went up to this level of hdmi to get the best experience at a reasonable price. The thing is, there is nothing reasonable about the price. Sure they go up to ludicrous pricing on the Carbon series but these things cost $10 for the manufacturer who probably charge $20 (that’s on the high end) to Best Buy. Then we get ripped for a 500% mark up. I like being able to shop at Best Buy and know they have to make money somewhere but I would buy better and more quality products like this if the price wasn’t so ridiculous. I would recommend if someone has sound cut out or any other issues. No qualms with audioquest but you probably wouldn’t notice a difference if you purchased a lower level hdmi

    Audioquest to the rescue

The one cable in my system that was not Audioquest let me down. I purchased the Cinnamon as a temporary replacement while my other cables were being warranted but now they are staying. The color and depth of my picture took a step forward with these cables. The picture really pops now and I am not talking about 3D. Audioquest makes high quality stuff and are usually my first choice. I just got brand new replacements back from the original cable vendor today but will probably sell them on Audiogon. I understand people don't want to spend a lot of money on cables and that some people think they are all the same. I am not one of these people and Audioquest prices are not that out of line. Putting better cables, power conditioning and tweaking your system is like having a picture put more in focus. As if it was slightly out of focus but you could not see it was out of focus until after it was adjusted. Bottom line in my system you can tell the difference with better cables and these Audioquest are better than what I had.

Monster was always my "go-to" brand for HDMI cables since it was usually the best available at my local discount store. Since purchasing the AudioQuest based on recommendation, I'm planning to make this brand my new cable of choice. I have Samsung Smart TV's in 3 rooms of my house and on occasion I unplug the power cable and HDMI cable and move the monitors into different rooms to check screen size, lighting, reflection glare, etc. Since the Samsung TV's use the same power cord, I don't have to pull the heavy credenza out to unplug it. I noticed when I used the AudioQuest cables on the last Samsung TV I purchased about 2 years ago, the sound quality was much better with these HDMI cables. I can't really tell the difference in the picture quality on the non-3D screen, but on the tv with 3D, it seems to be a brighter picture...not sure if its coincidence, but not taking any chances either. I will spring for the higher priced cables just based on my experience with similar tv's and trial and error alone.

Before I bought this cable, I bought a cheap HDMI cable due to all of the know it alls bragging how all HDMI cables are the same.. Not true!! I had a cheap 6' cable and everytime I changed channels on my Comcast catv box there would be a brief moment of pixelation.. Once I installed the cinnamon HDMI cable this immediatley went away.. HD looked much crisper.. My TV is a newer 3D Panasonic w/HDMI 1.4 jacks.. This cable handles the speed flawlessly.. The picture looks great.. I also have this cable on my 3D Blu Ray player.. Again, a huge differance in picture quality from my cheaper cables.. A friend of mine bought the Forest and he said he had the pixelation.. I told him to take the Forest back and try the Cinnamon.. It solved his problem as well, and he's been thanking me ever since.. Get these cables, they are 100% worth it.

I was a little skeptical about trying these cables and my rep advised me on the tech aspect of the cable so I decided to go with it. He advised me that if you don't like it bring them back and get your money back. Keep in mind that I have been a life long fan of Monster and have always used them until this point. What a difference! I could immediately notice the difference. But the true test was when my gf came home she asked what I had done to the TV because the HD channels appeared so much sharper and she didn't even know I had upgraded the cables. I was sold! At this point I would recommend anyone to try these cables (Audio Quest $89 - Monster $200 plus) you do the math and if you're not happy bring them back. You will not be disappointed.

Like the review summary above, it's an HDMI cable which works great. However it is very expensive. I purchased these (2x6ft) at the time I purchased a 4k TV. BB reduced the price of the TV to accommodate the 2 cables. As FYI, any high speed HDMI cable will work just fine and produce similar results. I connected a $5.99 HDMI cable I purchased from Amazon and there was no difference in Picture or Sound quality to my eyes. There is no doubt AudioQuest makes a great product, but I cannot justify the extra cost when compared to much lower price HDMI cable for same result.

Wow these cables are nice. The cord is beautifully braided and solid build! The Video is sold quality and audio will blow you away. At first I had issues with using the dynex hdmi cables i was getting sometimes picture only and no sound at times and would have to restart all my devices to make it work again. I talked to someone about my issue they said i either had a bad hdmi cable or the port on my tv was going bad. Found out after getting these it indeed was a bad hdmi cable. These cables are solid materials. I find these are better than the monster cables and at a good cost. The picture i noticed was much better sold and colors vibrant and the audio was much clearer. I would spend the extra money for better HDMI cable. cheep HDMI usually come with issues.

Hello meltyblood913, the video and audio performance of our cables is something we take great pride in. While lower quality HDMI cables may be able to get you picture and sound, they are also introducing a greater number of errors into the signal data. If there are too many errors, it can result in loss of picture or sound, similar to what you encountered. Great to hear that the AudioQuest cable solved the issues you were having and that you're now enjoying beautiful audio and video quality.AudioQuest

Having purchased a new Sony 4K Ultra TV, Sony 4K DVD player and a Sony sound bar, I needed several HDMI cables. Prices varied greatly and so did web comments regarding the value of pricey cables over the cheaper ones. I purchased a Cinnamon 6 footer for the connection between my cable box and TV and a cheaper other brand for the DVD connection. I tried both cables initially on the TV to cable box connection and I truly believe that the Cinnamon 6 footer did, in fact, provide a clearer picture. I took back the cheaper cable and bought another Cinnamon. Pricey, yes...but in the long run I am sure that I will be pleased with the quality of my picture and sound. Ultimately, it seemed silly to buy a cheaper cable for a brand new 4K system.... just to save a few bucks.

I would have to say that this is the best hdmi wire for the price. I was using the hdmi cable that came with my Xbox 360 to use on my playstion 3 to watch 3d movies on. The 3d was sub par onmy sony tv. I bought this cable and the monster 900dx, to compare the 2, and with about $20 difference in price I mainly wanted to see if that $20 more on cables would be worth it, thinking that monster would suffice. I used the monster first, and it was a noticeable difference however there was still some "ghosting" however not nearly as bad but not perfect. Then I tried these, and wow I don't see any ghosting at least compared to how it was. I immediately return the monster for another cinnamon cable for my 360. If your going to upgrade to any cable, especially for 3d use it is 100% worth the price.

I wanted a better cable for my Sony 4k bluray player. Reguardless of what some others may think on better video cables, I am a firm believer. After I replaced my mediocre hdmi cord, I saw an improved picture right away. The picture was brighter, more color but the video was cleaner-sharper-clearer. It really is clearer. I am very happy with the cord. There are always difference in many cables. Examples: oxygen free speaker wire, oxygen can break up signal in sound. Ethernet cable which is 8 lines compared to 4 in phone cords. Generators can only use gauge 10 wire on down-thicker wire to handle the current. I could give more examples. Technology in cords do improve in time. It has to be better, always improving. I am very happy in my purchase of the improved hdmi cable. Great picture....

a month ago to buy the Audioquest Forrest. The units supplied with my Pioneer VSX-919AH-K, Sony BDP-blu-ray and my TV Westhinghouse BX57 VR-3225 and the 800 HD Cable Mounster. tests: Forrest connected to Pioneer, Sharp images (equal to 800 HD), high and low sound very clear but the means are not clear. 800HD to TV. Pioneer 800HD connected to a TV and Forrest. The upper and middle like the other test, but the better way. The images shown equal to the 800HD. Not happy with the sound, switch to Cinamon. proof: Cinamon connected to Pioneer sound far superior in all three levels, more presence and lighter percussion instruments. The Sharper Image. Conclusion: I recommend purchasing, quality is competitively priced to Mounster Cable 800, 900 and 1000HD....

I went into Best Buy and asked how can I make 4k movies look better on my professionally calibrated tv. Would a different player help? The Magnolia Center employee said that Best Buy uses these cables. I was skeptical but knowing that I could just return it if it didn’t work I bought the cable. I thought I was ysing a good cable previously but after plugging this one in the picture did seem to look better. I don’t think it’s a “placebo effect”. I actually believe the pucture does look better. Now whether its worth the orice tag or not I’m not sure. There maybe just as good cables out there but I sm happy with this one.

I had my PS3 hooked up to a 32 in LG LCD tv with the RCA hookups that came with the system and the picture was always ok but fuzzy and it felt like something was lacking. One day I went to best buy looking for an HDMI cable and the sales person showed me the Audioquest products. At first I balked at the price but I figured like the rest of you, if I didnt like it I could take it back and exchange it. SO glad I kept it. One of the best decisions I ever made in regards to electronics! It is a little pricey but in this case, SO WORTH IT! I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for (to a point), and this cable just reafirms that belief. The Cinnamon is more cable than about 95% of us will ever need, but again, WORTH IT!

I looked for awhile for a new HDMI cable that was high end to support the new XBOX one X and my OLED tv. They are not cheap, but it is hard to tell if those are more expensive are really worth it. I Have had mine for awhile now and it has performed great. I am not sure i would have bought if if I did not get it on sale. Seems like more research into the brands and might have been needed but sometimes it is not worth your time and just spend a little more to get good known quality.
