If you hang in there ... it’s a good flick for horror lovers

Well the whole movie isn’t all torture, it’s just the ending. The whole thing builds up to that ending. It’s got a simple storyline that’s easy to follow. Nothing Hollywood wise. This is just one of those films where you just sit and listen, don’t bother with action if that’s what you’re asking for

If you're new to the genre.....you should probably start elsewhere. This movie will mess up your weekend, I promise. Dansmom

I might have enjoyed the film more if I had been on the same "trip" as the characters. Just too "dark" even for me.

I think this is one of my favorite films by Takashi Miike, my wife and I love it! The first 30 to 45 minutes are a little slow, but it starts to build up to the last 30 minutes, which are really intense! This is a really twisted and disturbing film. There's just not enough female slasher films. But, there are a few and this one's definitely at the top. If you haven't seen this film yet, you really should. Whether you like Japanese films or not, this is a must own. Trust me! I highly recommend it! Also, if you're looking for some more female slasher films, let me recommend The Killing Gene, Monster (based on a true story), Teeth, High Tension, and Slaughter from the Afterdark Horrorfest III series.

There are some good moments and some shocks. The story is solid. It’s a movie I would recommend but overall it’s lacking in some ways as well and has a predictable twist at one point that I found disappointing. It’s a well made film but I’d say not much replay value, or much to love about it. Worth a rental for horror fans.
