Unlock your home without ever getting your keys out. This August lock is great- I wish I bought it years ago when it first came out. You can also share it with friends/family so you don’t have to look for that extra set of keys. Worth every penny.

I bought this lock to work with Apple HomeKit and so far it works flawlessly. Installation is very intuitive and if you can turn a screwdriver you can do this. Don’t be alarmed that the install instructions are not in the box. They are in the app. So first order of business should be to download the app and setup an account. The rest is just following the on screen instructions. Connecting to the app, to Bluetooth, and to WiFi were all quite simple. Once connected to my phone the install process automatically downloaded and installed the latest firmware. It even took care of adding itself to my Apple HomeKit network. The build feels solid and battery replacement is quick and easy. I had seen so many reviews saying there were problems with the HomeKit implementation that I was a bit apprehensive. But so far so good! It seems to work as I would expect.. One mark down for value, as the price is not cheap. I would much preferred to see it in the $150 neighborhood.

Good lock, Took some time to setup, But after setup, lock worked real well. Also like the smaller size in the 4 generation model

Everything works great with this lock except the away feature. I have to get over 2 blocks away from my apartment before it kicks in to away mode. It would be great if they had two settings: one for apartments with smaller radius and second setting with current radius for houses. Outside of that one issue it has always unlocked fine using my Apple Watch app. I keep it on my screen and I can unlock it but the auto-unlock feature is easier when it works. This is especially true when I'm carry groceries and both hands are full.

Best thing ever. I’m not a person to install things like this. But I did it in about 10 mins and did the flush Mount option. Pretty sure that was the best for us. But it’s amazing. I just have to be sure to close the door tight so it locks.

I love having a smart lock on my door. This one is nice that you can access it from your phone or watch, share permissions with people. Only downside is very specific batteries are required and the charge lasts a couple months.

I am actually pretty surprised by this! I have heard great things about the brand and product, but not really seeing it. It was kinda clunky to get calibrated and I still can’t get it to connect to my WiFi. It tells me the password is incorrect when it is not. Does not stay connected to HomeKit reliably. Does work well with the Bluetooth to lock/unlock when you are physically near the door, but that doesn’t help if you need to let someone in remotely.

This was my first smart lock purchase. I wanted a smart lock on the door from my garage to the kitchen, so I wouldn't need to bring my keys with me every time I left the house - wallet, phone, car fob, check! And I love it

Super easy install. Works with just about every smart platform that’s out there. This includes apple home kit, Alexa and Google. I love that I can see who and when someone with access unlocks and lock the door. A very simple product with many features.

Install took a little longer to connect to wifi and only those designated as “owner” have the ability to lock or unlock over internet. Others users need to be within wifi range. While this works well for an rental property, there are, as in my case, users that would benefit from locking or unlocking over the internet without having all the settings privileges and password(s).

Essybto install but App is a little clunky. Once i figured it out i had the wife's phone set up in a couple minutes.

The Wi-Fi connection is a great option since we do not have an outlet close enough to our door. Until this came out, we had the older version with the hub plugged into an extension cord. The biggest downsides are odd-sized batteries to accommodate the smaller lock and the loss of notifications. The first is not a deal-breaker and the second should be fixed through a software update.

Great product. Easy to install and figure out. Only downside that I've found so far is that you can only use the auto unlock feature on one lock in your house, so if you have a security door on top of your front door, then you can't have them both auto unlock.

I love that this works with my existing locks and keys and doesnt require a big ugly keypad on my door. Phone works perfect for opening and easy to add people to allow them in. The automatic unlock doesn't always work but its easy enough to open it from the app.

On top of the Ring Peephole Cam, I also bought one of these for my apartment. Make sure to check with your leasing office if this will be okay. This only replaces the inside deadbolt and still allows for the use of the original key outside in case they need to get into your apartment for maintenance or emergency purposes. Setup was a little wonky with Apple Homekit, but I'm still giving it a 5/5 for it's value to me. I've forgotten to lock my door once and, had it not been for this August Wifi Smart Lock and Apple Homekit, I would have had to turn around and been late to work. Also, without the combination of the two, I may not even have noticed that I had left my door unlocked. In case you're wondering, the 4th gen does not require a base station to work like the previous models. The build quality is fantastic as well. Doesn't feel cheap or flimsy.

Great lock. It easily replaces the deadbolt toggle without needing to change out the other side of the lock. This works great for me because you are able to still use your old keys. You can use the app to unlock, or use Siri if you have a smart home hub.

I used one of these for each of my locks in my house. I have had a couple issues with the Bluetooth connectivity but once I was able to directly connect to wifi I haven't had any problems. It had made life easier.

Love it! Had some issues setting up with Siri but def worth it! Love the Auto Unlock feature when I pull up at home.

I really august locks. I can keep a normal look on the outside and smart lock on the inside. These install so easily. And this fourth gen feels more solid and smooth and is smaller Plus wifi built in is great you dont need the extra little box

I like that it fits over your existing deadbolt. That is all I wanted and needed. No issues with connectivity in my case, and you can give others access and monitor the status of your door(s).
