I watched a bunch of videos prior to purchase, most of them had great things to say about functionality, features, and customer support. I recommend buying an extra battery otherwise you're gonna get the standard 20 minutes-ish flight time. Video quality is good, I'm looking forward to exploring the more advanced controls it has to offer. READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST!!!!!!

This is an amazing machine. It's very easy to use, simple instructions, and you can get lost in space literally as if your actually flying it. Ive seen things I've never seen before from a different point of view....It's addicting!!! I love it!!

My first drone and was debating between this and the DJI Phantom. The reputation of poor customer service from DJI and the fact that the Autel is pretty much identical with the DJI at a much lower cost was the contributing factor for me. Also, the carrying case is super heavy -duty, the 4K camera is removable from the gimble, and it comes with 4 extra propellors. Im using this for amateur photography and dont plan on flying the drone too far from my own visibility. If you want a drone that can fly out of your field of vision, then the DJI has a longer range. You need to do your research to see what you will be using it for before making the purchase. Athough the DJI can fly farther, i would never use that feature so that wouldnt be an issue for me

Very high quality, well thought out design. Can charge both battery and remote control simultaneously. Starlink app is very user friendly. Using the remote with my phone and it does not seem to drain the phone's battery. Includes a simple maintenance kit, extra props, and a very nice transportation case.

We had a warm day here in the middle of winter in NY and I finally had the chance to fly my drone. What a fantastic machine. It is very easy to fly and was a lot of fun. The drone seems durable and the camera is great. The app is intuitive and overall this is just a really fun drone. I can't compare it to other drones but I am very impressed. I like the beginner mode while I was learning, it helps keep the aircraft lower to the ground and doesn't let it get too far away from you. I wish the battery life was longer but if you buy an extra one, you are probably going to be able to enjoy 30-45 minutes of flights time. Not bad. When the weather warms up I'll be able to explore the other functions and really put it through it's paces. One thing to note. Before you buy this drone, check with your local laws and also download the FAA app to see where you can and can't fly.

I know some friends that have the DJI drones and they have had problems with them. I decided to go with the Autel and am very happy with it. I went from flying the$50- $100 drones to this one and the difference is amazing on soo many levels. The camera is awesome, does 4K but everything below it too. This thing will basically fly itself. All of the "go home" and "landing" functions work flawlessly, which gives me a great sense of safety in making sure I can get this thing back just in case. I would recommend using one of the devices that Autel says works with the starlink app. I tried other devices and had app. crashing issues(even with that, the drone still flew perfectly). I feel a little stupid for buying the cheap drones "for fun" when this one was so affordable and easy to fly. If you are thinking of a drone, buy this one.

I've been building and flying fixed-wing "drones" for almost 10 years now, and thought I'd give a multi-rotor a try. After reading reviews, etc., I opted for the X-Star premium. This thing is awesome! Extremely easy to set up and fly, and the video is beautiful! As for Autel customer service.... I brought my drone home from Best Buy, and as soon as I opened the box, I could tell that someone had already flown it, banged it up a bit, sealed it back in the box, and returned it. Given that I had purchased the last one in any store in my area, I called Autel. Even though what happened was completely out of their control, they were willing to replace it for me! I ended up returning it to Best Buy, and they had a replacement at my door in two days.

I would recommend this to others. This drone is very easy to operate. Good camera, great pictures.

I've been flying and building quads (drones) for about 5 years now. The X-Star Premium is an excellent way to start flying drones. It's extremely easy to fly and it takes great videos and photos. There is a slight learning curve for all the camera and drone settings but there are plenty of videos online to explain them. Now, this done doesn't have all the collision sensors others have but if you fly using common sense (flying line of sight) you won't have any issues. I highly recommend this aerial platform as a first serious drone.

As a beginner this is a tremendous drone, easy to flight and control, like the color is easy to located in the sky and for me compares performance of other drones like the phantom 3 pro

I love this drone and to me it is the best out there I would definitely purchase another one just to have as a extra. It works real well takes good pictures and does what it is advertised to do for sure.

I bought this a couple of months ago and while I've flown 4 channel helis, I'd never flown a drone. The x-s was very easy to fly but definitely take time to read the instructions and get it registered. Love the 24/7 customer service!! I've only had one issue where the drone froze when the battery was low then died and fell to the ground. I called autel and they gave me a shipping label to send it back. I didn't have to pay for anything and they promptly sent a new drone to replace the crashed one. Great customer service and an excellent drone for beginners or intermediate.

This drone at half the price of the DJI is awesome. It has performed flawlessly and has survived many crashes without an issue. I added prop guards which protect it when I run into trees and porch posts. The camera is great and can be adjusted for quality and aperature override while in flight. The orange color is an attention getter too. The app works great. I did lose the video feed at about 500 ft away once, but I could still control it. I purchased a 7" Galaxy Tab A as my video screen. I can't say enough about this drone. One thing it lacks that I do wish it had is crash sensors. The DJI has a bunch. But I consider those a luxury. But this drone before you invest twice as much in the DJI - if not for only it's crash worthiness alone. I'm 61 yes old and challenged by joy stick controls. Probably a younger man would not crash so often

After extensive research I chose this quad because it is easy to fly, excellent customer service, and priced right ( the orange color is a bonus). So it doesn't have avoidance; I don't intend to do anything stupid like flying into an obstacles. Very stable in windy conditions. Camera has many pro options with great clarity and stability. Fun to fly. Outstanding video tutorials provided by Autel. Never lost comm with drone using the Starlink app using an 8 inch Samsung Tab A without sim card. Buy it you'll enjoy flying it!

I have built FPV quads and fly miniwhoops. This was my first camera drone. It is easy to set up, take off, fly and land. I did a large amount of research before I bought this drone. It was a choice between this and DJI. The reviews I read if Autels Customer Support helped me with my decision. The only thing I am having issues at this time is the video link. It drops out more than I would like. It may be user error, so i am still working on it. Other than that videos and picture quality is great. Ease of flight is awesome. I think I made the right choice.

I purchased this drone after originally considering a DJI. After much research on the web, I read many poor reviews of DJI customer service. This was completely the opposite of all positive service responses for Autel. I've found this to be true when Fallon them with questions. There are also many very active user groups. The drone is relatively easy to fly, great tutorial videos on YouTube. The 4k camera is great and detachable for exchange with other lenses they have already announced at CES 2017.

I first tried the Yuneec Breeze, and it went crazy, and took a dive into the lake. I then purchased this X-Star Premium and it's awesome! You get a nice hard case with it, and the controller is really easy to use. And the controller has a screen on it so you don't need to attach a device if you do not want to. The camera footage is crisp and clear, and battery life is around 22 minutes. Overall, I saved hundreds over the DJi, and this drone is just as good, of not better in a lot of ways.

This was bought for my sons birthday but I think my husband likes it as much... can’t believe how far this thing can go and the pics it takes are unreal!! A bit on the pricey side but very good quality!

No way would I spend hundreds of dollars on a flying toy but my neighbor convinced me this Autel XStar drone is not a toy. It is the real deal! Aside from occasional magnetic interference and about 20 minutes of safe flight time on a charged battery, this drone is very stable, easy to fly and offers auto features for take off and landing. Knows how to return to take off location (home base) if I push home button, if battery level gets below 20% or if connection to remote is lost. Beginner or advance modes. I am now a droner!!! I am setting way points to guide drone, flying by sight or by viewing map and best of all, can see what the HD camera sees in real time.

I didnt want to waste my time or money on multiple cheap drones. After watching many YouTube reviews this is the best one thats ready to go out of the box. Easy to fly and takes stunning 4K pics and videos. It comes with extra propellers and a nice case. Its $500 cheaper than its competitors with the same stats. Im am very pleased with my purchase.
