I decided to buy a drone and did a bit of research. I decided on this drone for several reasons. 1. From every review that I read, regarding Autel and DJI, Autel always had excellent reviews for customer service and DJI did not. I thought this must be an issue, because so many people mentioned this fact in their reviews of both companies. In fact, I did need customer service to answer a question regarding calibration and Autel customer service was extremely responsive. 2. This drone came with a hard case for excellent transport and protection. Other companies did not. 3. The remote has a small display that gave valuable info, that is very handy during flight, such as gimble pitch, elevation and distance away from the remote. 4. Removable camera assembly. In the event of damage or an upgraded camera, I only have to replace the camera assembly, and not the entire unit. Super easy to fly and great picture and video quality!!

This drone is easy to learn to fly. Love the 4k hd camera and the pictures it takes. Lots to learn and need to practice with all the options.

4K drones are all alike. Let me rephrase that. If you can ignore the price, the size, the shape, and the weight of most 4K drones on the market today, then you'll find that they're all alike. That said, other than the god awful orange color of this Autel drone (supposedly there's a white option the Best Buy I went to didn't have), it actually has about the same size, shape, weight, and general specs as the industry leader, DJI Phantom series...the kicker is which one. At a very modest sales price of $699, the Autel X-Star Premium basically fits inbetween DJI's low end Phantom 3 Standard (at about $499/599), and their top (excluding the new 4) Phantom 3 Professional (between $899/999). The price point alone makes the Autel the best deal (regularly $899), but it actually shares the same specs as DJI's Phantom 3 Professional, while also coming with a 64GB microSD card and a better remote control. The better alternative to this that wasn't out at the time of my purchase is the $999 DJI Mavic Pro, which is smaller, lighter, designed sleeker, costs more, but also has enough bells & whistles like folding wings and crash avoidance to make up for the price jump.

My husband Wanted the parrot .But the camera wasn't a 4K . The drone he bought was very nice it was a little harder to get everything up to par but he's learning . It dose have a beginner mode for The height it can go . It takes beautiful movies . And still photos. It comes with a beautiful case for Travel . Great for vacation .

This is one FANTASTIC drone on the market for that up comimg drone enthusiast who wants to get great ariel videos or still shots that cant be done at ground level...Thats 5 STARS for x star premium by Autel Robotics....Great price.....

Husband's favorite new toy. Bright easy to see color. High resolution images for price point. Most of all it is very durable, a real plus especially for beginners. Great hard case! Would be nice if came with extra prop blades.

Ok so bought this a while ago before Autel went out of business (then resumed production) and it was a good value for its price point and came with a nice hard case which was a great bonus.

I've been contemplating purchasing a DJI for most of 2016. I am SOOOOO glad I was put on to the Autel unit. I read lots of reviews and watched plenty of videos online before making up my mind. I'm glad I made this purchase. This drone or quadcopter is great. It is comparable to a DJI 3 Professional in a lot of ways. It's very sleek and the orange color pops in the sky. The case the drone arrives in is very nice, durable. Plenty of room for spare batteries. The drone is very well made and seems very durable. I actually took a small spill with it on my first landing and it took it well. No damage. I run it with my mini IPad which works great. I also love the controller, the way it feels in the hand is much nicer than the DJI in my opinion. It also has more buttons for ease of use and a small LCD screen for basic telemetry. I purchased it here for $200 off the regular price and I used that savings to put toward two extra batteries which are $116 each. It has a nice charging system also, which allows you to charge the controller and one battery at the same time.

Very pleased with this drone. Has everything the phantom 3's have all the way up to professional for a little less (at time of purchase). Plus the orange color makes it easier to keep an eye on. Excellent.

This thing is awesome. Flys great and has plenty of options. O Ya and the website has tons of videos on how to fly and work all the options. I use it with a ipad pro. The video is so clear its scary.

Was surprised at how easy setup was. The Drone reacts nicely while flying and picture Quality is Outstanding.

I bought the X-Star premium drone as a gift for my wife as she is into photography and wanted to get into drone photos and videos. I looked closely at the various DJI drones which were more expensive, but I got scared at the various customer service issues I was reading in reviews (especially since you can't get a store warranty for a drone). I have had the X-Star for a week and couldn't be happier with the purchase. It is easy to fly (especially for beginners with the auto take off and landing buttons on the controller), it appears to be durable (I had it tip over a few times landing on an uneven surface where the blades spun into the ground and I accidentally left the gimble cover on when powering it up...no issues with either situation), and the camera footage is great. Also, I called Autel customer service to see when spare batteries might be in stock and they returned my call in a few hours as well as responded to emails (their OC service is in the USA and appears to be responsive). The only issue I have had so far was when trying to figure out the right cable to use when connecting my iPhone to the controller and found out I can just use a regular charging cable (there just isn't any information about that in the videos or literature). The camera is detachable in the event of a problem (so no need to buy a whole new drone for a camera issue. Also, this product comes with a very nice hardshell case which could be checked on an airplane. The only negative is that the drone is not as compact as the DJI Mavic Pro, but I also purchased it for almost $300 less than that unit. I also like the orange color as the drone is easy to spot in the air.

Bought this drone after doing a lot of research and comparing it to the DJI line. This drone was about 300$ cheaper than its Phantom counterpart and provides just as good footage via the 4K camera. My buddy who owns the DJI phantom pro 4 and I fly a lot together and the end result is our videos are equal. The DJI flys a bit more stable than the Autel but the XSP still flys very smooth and reliably. I've had it for a year now and love it! I've even created my own YouTube channel just for the videos I take.

I did my research on this drone. Compared to the others in the market. These features are just like the high dollar drones. Autel got this one right!! For the money this is the way to go

This drone comes packed with enough navigation features to make it easy for anyone to fly. The camera takes great pictures. The only downsides are extreamly short battery life 20 minutes and a rather short transmission radius for the video feed.

So, did the research between this and the DJI phantom 3 and this one takes the cake. Less in price to the phantom 4 shoots beautiful 4K can't complain at all
