We purchased this wine fridge as a gift to ourselves and so far it is performing exactly as we expected. The fridge keeps the temperature consistent for our red wines. The only shortcoming (which I read in other reviews) is that there is not enough room for the larger format bottles. Overall we are pleased with our purchase.

We have only had this fridge for a week, but so far we like it. It has a nice look, is quiet and holds the wine we have. We have not yet reached the 160 bottle quantity yet, so I don't know if they would all fit. One thing I would have liked is if the shelves were adjustable. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase.

Thermostat did not work right And the LED lights would randomly come on along with an alarm sound. It took an hour working with Best Buy customer service to set up a replacement order and pick up for the defective one. They were insistent that I box this back up to have it returned. I explained numerous times that is was a six foot tall, three hundred pound refrigerator and there was no way I could get it back into a box. They seemed confused on how the return process should work for returning one of these. I was put on hold numerous times and it was quite frustrating. The new one will be delivered in a couple of days so we shall see how that goes. I will re-review and update after that one gets here.

This wine storage unit is great. Very quiet and hold temperature very well. Some of the shelves are too shallow but capacity is good

This cooler is a good size for a smaller collector. The drawers do not hold the maximum number of bottles. Wine bottles vary in size so not all drawers hold the same number of bottles.

I would never purchase from Avanti again. Received my unit on 10/31/14 and it quit working/cooling by 12/1/14. Now my unit is in pieces waiting on parts so that it can be repaired; a date for completion has not been given. Never again and seriously considering taking my business from Best Buy to another retailer.

I purchased this unit from Pacific Sales 3 years ago. I did not purchase the extended warranty based on the sales rep recommendation that the unit was very reliable. (First Red flag). The unit stopped cooling. I called Best Buy for service and they communicated that they do NOT service these units at all. They are not certified Avanti repair technicians. I called the manufacturer, who referred me to several "Closed System Refrigerator Repair Specialist". The first technician that came out mentioned a potential leak in the system and recommended replacing the evaporator. When we contacted the manufacturer again for parts, they gave me a 2 month ETA for an Evaporator. (Red Flag 2 ). The Tech charged $50 for the visit. Since I was a bit suspicious, I decided to get a second opinion. The second technician immediately said it was a leak in the close system and would cost more than the Wine Cooler is worth. When I asked for his recommendation, he said - " purchase a new wine cooler, but not this brand. He mentioned that this brand has a very high failure rate." $50 Finally I wanted a tie breaker as the responses seem to be unacceptable. The third technician validated the second technicians comments without having the history of his comments. He mentioned that in his opinion, these units from Avanti are disposable units and only last a maximum of 5 years based on the cheap parts. My advice : If you purchase the unit, purchase the extended warranty for unit replacement, although the inconvenience may not be worth the trouble. $200 for every 2 years of extended warranty. Add that to the cost of the wine cooler - probably not a great investment.
