    Great steelbook, unfortunately mediocre master

The quality of the steelbook itself is fantastic, just as you'd expect. So, if you want the steelbook regardless of how the film itself looks, this is a great buy. The film itself, however, falls short of the visual fidelity it deserves to have. It's not bad by any means, it just doesn't push beyond the basic criteria for any normal 4k bluray. The disc was only mastered in the lowest standard of 1000 nits, and it does not peak to that level at all. It was mastered in the BT 2020 color space, but the colors don't seem to push that far beyond the DCI-P3 color space, and combined with the lower brightness values, it doesn't push the image quality to any point of "wowing" you. For reference, I watched this multiple times on my 77-inch LG G5 OLED. It has significant brightness capabilities and more than enough color volume to display what this film should have been mastered at. So, for me it was a shame to see such a highly anticipated home release get such a mediocre master from a director that prides himself on pushing the boundaries of visual fidelity and realism in his films. The only saving grace i had was the ability to use my Panasonic ub820 player to turn up the HDR setting to bring out much more brightness without raising the black levels. It did help a lot, but since the colors weren't pushing that far, it still was a bit underwhelming, although it did help a lot. Overall, the film itself is great and the steelbook is a fantastic option for anyone who loves the film regardless if it's the best looking 4k bluray or not. So, I'd reccomend the steelbook to anyone who is wanting a collectors version of this film. It's certainly worth it.

Aside From The Beautiful Steelbook And Plentiful Hours Of Bonus Features, Avatar: The Way Of Water Has To Be The Most Jaw Droppingly Beautiful 4K I Have Ever Owned Or Seen. The Steelbook Came In Perfect Condition And All The Discs Work Just Fine. I Would Definitely Recommend To Add This To Your Collection And I Promise You, You Will Be Pleased With Its 4K Quality.

Picture looks insanely good, shipping came on time, and steelbook was in good condition. Best Buy has steelbooks for the best and also obscure releases and I hope they continue.

Avatar: The Way of Water looks absolutely breathtaking on my Samsung OLED TV, with vibrant colors and incredible detail that really bring Pandora to life. The Dolby Atmos surround sound makes the experience even more immersive, especially during the action and underwater scenes. My family absolutely loves this movie and we’ve already watched it multiple times. The story is emotional and engaging, with strong themes of family and connection. The visual effects are some of the best I’ve ever seen and truly showcase what 4K and high-end sound systems can deliver. It’s a perfect movie night choice that everyone can enjoy. The worldbuilding is just as impressive as the first film, and the sequel feels even more expansive and magical. This is a must-own for fans of epic sci-fi and blockbuster cinema.

Beautifully done sequel to AVATAR! This steelbook edition is flat out gorgeous in every way. Nicely done throughout! We get the whole package here and it doesn't disappoint! Get the steelbook before they are gone. This is one to own. Movie looks and sounds spectacular in 4K! I think this is one of the best steelbooks that has been made to date. Well done artists! This is a long movie, but if you are into that like TITANIC from James Cameron, you are going to like it. I thought pace was good, but not everyone is going to like the length of this sequel. Keep that in mind when viewing. Menus, optiions, easy selections. We get the digital copy as well here. Highly recommended! Now, can we get the ALIENS sequel on 4K, Mr. Cameron? That would be stellar with me.

The Way of Water - Cinematic Masterpiece

Well, "The Way of Water" does not go in the same direction the first one went, that is seen in the last act, and its story is a little more complex than the first one. Also, the film is a triumph for its director, cast and entire movie crew, which overcomes its visuals with emotion, all the cast performances, and what tells. The film stands out for the consistency of its characters and the actions and consequences they have. Also, it could be say that Avatar: The Way of Water is a clearly anti-war movie: there are no heroes, people die, and war is portrayed as a disgusting and horrible act. Like the first Avatar, the film has strong characters, a solid and well written script, and a clearly ecological and anti-war message, emphasizing emotion and acting over its visuals, which by the way, are really masterful.

    An Absolute Visual Masterpiece

Avatar Way of Water in 4K is an absolute visual masterpiece that takes the cinematic experience to a whole new level. James Cameron's visionary storytelling and groundbreaking visual effects have once again redefined the boundaries of what is possible in filmmaking. The 4K format elevates every aspect of the movie. The colors are more vibrant, the textures more pronounced, and the action sequences more exhilarating. Whether it's the breathtaking aerial sequences, the heart-pounding underwater adventures, or the intimate moments shared between characters, every scene is a visual feast for the eyes. Lastly, If you have a great sound system it's also a huge plus not to mention the steelbook is very clean.

Spare us your cheap jabs and lame jokes, Internet, because the blockbuster event of the year has arrived, and it is indeed THAT film. After introducing us to Pandora in a fairly basic and well-worn story wrapped in sumptuous visuals, Cameron cuts loose big time and expands that world with a much deeper, richer story about parents learning from their children just as much as vice versa - a theme that extends to some unexpected corners of the cast, with new franchise stars in the making that are Jake and Neytiri's brood (including and especially the returning Sigourney Weaver) sure to ignite the most interest in sequels to come. And naturally, the film looks EXQUISITE.

    Avatar Steel Book

If you liked the first Avatar then you'll more than likely enjoy this one as well. It's an amazing movie with a very well written story(for the most part), and even better visuals. The CGI was out of this world, much like Pandora, and you really get a feel for the story that's being told and expanded upon. Now if you agree with all that, or you just feel like it, the "Steel Book$ for this movie is a must have for your collection. Awesome movie, definitely buy. Be warned it is fairly long.

I was not the biggest fan of the original film. I wasn't sure it needed a sequel. But I streamed it and I had a really good time with it. I say it is better than the first. Great action. Better character development. Good storytelling. It's a bit long, but that's how movies are nowadays. I had to own it and this SteelBook is stunning. Get it. The film looks and sounds amazing.

I'm a fan of these Best Buy only Steel Books! But I'm an even bigger fan of the Avatar series. Yes, many will say it's a "rehash" of older stories, but you know what, what ever. Visually it is amazing, pace is great for a movie that long and I feel that because of how well it's made it just emerses you in the world of Pandora. Anyway, if you're a fan of Avatar and limited editions, this Steel Book is a MUST HAVE!

Just stunning in 4k. So much color it's like a painting.only problem it's very long. 3 hrs & 12 min. That said no real lull in the film good character development to the point you know & feel for the characters. Plenty of action scenes will also keep you glued to the screen Best 4k transfer of the year. If you're lucky enough to get the steelbook it is gorgeous

This was one of my favorite movies that I was waiting to be released, as I loved Avatar. Avatar: The Way of Water did not let me down. I still love Avatar the best, but The Way of Water comes in a very close 2nd. The visual quality is nothing less than fantastic. The audio quality is also fantastic on my surround sound system. If you enjoyed the first Avatar movie, you will definitely love the sequel.

I really liked the movie. The story line was very good. The CGI was as phenomenal as the 1st. The first movie had the fascinating concept of a human consciousness in a body of an alien to live and interact with the indigenous inhabitants. That made for a uniquely fantastic movie. Similar to the Matrix, this is why sequels never manage to do as well, the movie has to have elements to carry it to a high level. I think the movie has a great story line to make this a great movie. Maybe not a 5 star, but it is a very good movie with stunning visuals and worthy of having it in your 4K collections

OK, so most of the worlds population knows of the Avatar series. I try to give very honest reviews when I can. Avatar 2 for me was a mixed bag. I give the movie in the steelbook packaging 4 stars. Graphically Avatar 2 is definitely amazing. Not just the visuals but animal design and machine/tech design are equally amazing. The story line is nothing new to Hollywood, kind of same story told before but in a different planet. Some of the story though has big holes that are never really filled in. It’s kind of a here we are now, let’s move on, don’t worry how we got here type of thing. The movie is very watchable though for the graphics/design alone. So yeah, it’s good enough to purchase.
