If voice and video meetings are part of your standard workday, you need a headset or some other audio set up for the best experience. AVerMedia has given us a product to fit the bill, so to speak, and admirably at that. Unpacking the USB speaker phone, my initial impression was a positive one. It is well built and simple. Five buttons along with a volume indicator. The simplicity didn’t stop there. This thing is the definition of plug-n-play. I had it hooked up and in use in like a minute. Got on a video conference, and was told my voice was clear and concise without airiness. The speaker performs admirably, delivering clear, crisp audio on par with good laptop or small desktop speakers. One of my shortest reviews, but one of the best products. The AVerMedia USB speakerphone is one of the best peripherals you can buy if you frequently teleconference or participate in video conferencing, period. A true gem!

Just received my AverMedia Speakerphone and have been using it for the last week for my conference calls at work. This little gem is amazing. Along with the speakerphone inside the box comes a USB-A to USB-C cable and a quick start guide. It is quite simple to use. Simply plug the cord into an open USB port on your computer and it instantly turns on. There's no special software to download or install and it can be used with Windows PC or Mac PC. Once plugged in it lights up blue. The volume can be adjusted with the 2 volume buttons at the top or muted. Once muted the lights at the top will turn red to signify its muted. During my initial testing of this device, my coworkers and I were all amazed at the call quality. And with the help of the AI button at the bottom, I was able to block a lot of the background noise from outside where construction at another office is currently happening. Essentially with this being a speaker, it doubles as a portable speaker to connected desktops/laptops when not in use for Zoom calls. I recommend this device for anyone working in an office or from home especially since the past year we've all endured.

This speakerphone is just awesome! I thought I would need to do a setup, install a driver or do something else to get it setup but nope! I just literally plugged it in and that was it --- it became an external speaker for my laptop. I did the same with my phone as well, same thing...a simple plug and play. I asked my work colleague if he could hear my kids and the dog playing in the background and he said he couldn't hear much at all! This is a game changer for me because with all the working from home we've been doing lately, the ability to have a speakerphone that intelligently drowns out background noise is pretty amazing and super useful. I can't think of any cons, other than not being sure if it is worth the price point when I can just find a quieter place to hold my calls, or hook up another speaker to my phone or laptop to hear better. Nonetheless this is a great convenience item that works just as described.

Because who knew this pandemic would happen and that working remotely or having small office spaces for meetings would be the new norm now, even as we're getting back to normal. Well the new normal is that businesses are saving a lot of money not having to rent out expensive office spaces, while employees are happier not having to have long commutes and can work efficiently remotely. My company has a small office space rented out for when we have meetings, otherwise we work remotely. And testing this out during our last meeting, it's truly superb. Its form factor is so compact but in the best way possible. It's so easy to use, very straight forward, doesn't take up much space, and the quality is great. I'd expect this to be a super expensive top notch speaker phone for the value it gives. I have no doubt that this will increase in sales and be purchased for many offices in the near future.

This speaker phone has worked excellent with MS Teams, Google Meet, Duo, Discord, Webex and every other meeting I have been invited to...except Zoom. I could hear everything but the mic would not work. This could be a zoom issue with the vendor I was working with, but it caught me off guard since I had no issues anywhere else. The speaker is loud and clear. The mic matches the speakers performance. Controls are simple and straightforward. The AI muted when my dog barked and drowned out any background noise (mowers, etc from outside) I actually prefer this as my default speaker when watching videos for work or personal. All in all, this is a excellent speakerphone. It has a USB type C connection on the speaker side. A standard USB-A connection is on the PC side. You can use a USB-C to USB-C but that cable is not included. This is much better than sitting with headphones on all day.

I was excited to receive this product, as I have been wearing a wireless headset for several months now. While headsets are great, they go out of range and will drop connections. With this speakerphone, I have new freedom to move around and still listen to meetings with the audio muted. The volume is loud enough for me to listen from several rooms away allowing me to multitask better than ever. The AI does a really good job of blocking out background noises, while the other participants hear a very nice crisp and clean sound. I was worried that it might be tinny sounding, but that is not the case with this. The speakerphone is small enough to be portable, yet big enough to give great service. The mute button is easy and the lights turn red so you never need to guess whether or not you are muted. This is a must have for a home office.

For me, the AVerMedia USB Conference SpeakerPhone (AS311) is a mixed bag. Pro - I like the design and simple-to-use buttons - It was definitely plug-and-play. Only had to set my system preferences to use it for output as well as input. - The size is small and unobtrusive. - The AI is somewhat helpful Con - One of the buttons is for triggering actions, but only works with Windows. - The speaker sounded thinner (too much treble) than I'd like and not sure it would work well in a large conference room - unless everyone is very focussed. Personally, my fairly new Mac laptop has a 3-mic array and excellent fidelity speakers. Because of this, I would definitely go there first for solo use. However, when doing a small group discussion around a table, this would likely be a better choice.

First of all, I'm very impressed with this little speakerphone and if you're deciding on whether or not it's worth getting one I would say absolutely it is. It has a number of great features that make it easy to use for all of your audio conferencing/phone calls on your laptop or desktop. First, it's small and versatile enough to be portable to use when you're on the go, working from home, or working in the office. The touch buttons and LED lights are clear and easy to read/see when you're on a call and are easy to see. In terms of audio quality and the microphone, it is loud, and does really well at not picking up background noises that are not in the immediate vicinity of the microphone and it seems clear from my use so far that the AI screens for certain types of background noises. I'm actually pretty amazed at how well it works for my environment and would say that for anyone who's working at home that hosts/joins Zoom, Teams or Skype calls that this is definitely the way to go, hands down. It's much better than using your laptop's built in microphone and speaker (one because it's louder and two because it picks up your voice better and others can't tell you're on a speakerphone which you definitely get with most laptops where people tell you that you sound far away or they hear background noise or echo when you talk or unmute). I've tried Bluetooth headsets which work well to solve most of those problems and wired headsets are great but sometimes pickup background noise and get uncomfortable - especially on those calls that you're primarily listening to as a participant. I also think that having a fancy RGB gaming headset on for conference calls is distracting and perhaps not the most professional in all circumstances. I'd highly recommend investing in this device if any of this or any the associated issues sound familiar to you! It will without a doubt work for you to solve those issues and make it much easier to multitask or use your laptop/PC in a group audio conference where others who are in the same room need to hear and be heard. I would absolutely recommend getting one of these.

Excellent speaker and mic audio quality. My co-worker said voice captured by the mic is very clear and good. The speaker is very loud and clear. Very easy to install, just plug and play. The buttons are very convenience. The shortcut button only works for Windows computer and by default open a browser window. The buttons are touch sensor type and smooth, I wish the buttons has texture surrounding them and haptic feedback so I can use them without looking.

Been looking for a hands free conference device for when either I travel and have to have meetings with clients and the team back in the office or just at home and don't want to use a headset. This actually works and works well. Plugged into the PC with no issues and detected by Skype and WebEx without issue The buttons work quickly and the AI voice noise thing works well. Been checking with office mates and even with fans pointed at me they didn't get the wind and said I sounded fine. They sound good. Only downside is I wish I could boost the speaker a bit louder at time but it is more then awesome and what I needed. Overall if you need a small simple package to work as a speaker phone in the office/travels this is great. No issues in setting up on PC and using. It works. Which is great.

It's nice not wearing some goofy headset and having your ears hurt especially if you work from home. Much nicer when you can just press a button and talk. My people tell me that can hear me just fine but I am in a confined room and I do have the device very close to me and I'm also in charge so maybe my people are scared to tell me they can't hear me. However, apparently nothing I have said has been unheard best I can tell. This is amazing especially if you work from home.

The first unit I received didn't work on any of multiple laptops, so I contacted customer support. It turns out this is not quite so simple with AVerMedia, as they do not offer phone or chat support, just email. The email promised to get back to me within three business days; after five I used a contact at the company to get me to support. Their response included a line insisting I not reply to the email, but use a link at the bottom of their message to contact them. Fair enough - except the link didn't contact them, it took me to a survey. So I took a chance and replied, and it actually worked. Support sent me a new unit, and I was able to try components - there are only two, the speakerphone and the USB cable, so it didn't take long. It turned out that the original unit had a defective cable. However, testing also revealed that the replacement unit had a defective microphone. Taking the working pieces from each to construct a functioning unit, I sent the two broken pieces back. As far as performance, the sound is clear, and I've used it outdoors on a conference call with the noise-cancelling feature enabled, and no one complained about background noise. So, yes, it works well. It just might take you a while to find one that works at all.

It's a decent speakerphone. I cannot figure out how a to use it with the phone app on my Windows laptop though. It will work with Zoom calls, but not with phone calls. It does cancel out back ground noises. People hear me clearly. Great speaker, but I don't like that it has to be usb connected.
