Instant Classic - Almost as good as the manga!

From the start one might not see what is so great about an anime that covers the life of stereotypical high school girls of japan; though the pace picks up once all of the characters are introduced. Of all the things that might turn someone away from watching this is the appearance of one minor character, Kimura-sensei (teacher of Classical Japanese Literature). His character depicts the uncommon, and shady, existence of perverted male teachers. But because he seldom appears in the episodes it should not be something to take to heart when considering the story in its entirety. Multiple good points stand out in this particular anime. The high points of Azumanga Daioh! include Sasaki, a girl whose obsession/facination with pets is only outdone by her kindness; Chiyo, 10-year-old genius fresh from grade school who is adored by all in the anime; Tomo, an eccentric and rather idiotic girl whose main purpose, aside from keeping the story moving, is as the primary comic relief. Other characters include Yukari-sensei, the girl's homeroom teacher for all three years of high school; Yomi, Tomo's best friend and school mate since kindergarden; Kagura, athletic and competitive girl (captain of swim team); as well as a few others. Altogether the story gains pace quickly, but is roughly tied together by the separate jokes that originate in the manga. This is seriously worth getting!
