This is for you. I bought this on a whim because it's made by the studio currently making Bloodstained with Mr. Igarashi. I wasn't disappointed, but then again I also liked Mighty No.9, so...

Different kind of game, not really what I expected. But I did like it

This isnt too bad really. Not as good as I was hoping but I still enjoyed it enough to justify the purchase.

Gunvolt comes from IntiCreates - a treasure trove of Capcom expats who know the dos-and-dont's of classic 2D platforming like the back of their hand. The Gunvolt series expands on many of the ideas that made IntiCreates' Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX series so iconic - tight action, gorgeous pixel art, persistent character development, and challenge. Gunvolt pairs familiar trappings with new design ideas. Shots from the hero's gun don't damage enemies, but instead mark them with beacons so that his trademark lightning strike ability can zap them. When employing his lightning, Gunvolt can also slow his descent from drops and falls. This opens the action up to new possibilities, such as taking multiple targets at once. The player's focus is then naturally pulled toward dodging and maneuvering instead of outright shooting. It's a fresh take on a classic formula.

This game is Mega Man revival fans have really been waiting for. The Action is fast, fun, and flashy. The fact that you get two excellent action platformers in one package is just icing on the top.
