I started with 2oz bottles and I couldn't tell the dispensed amount because my kitchen scale is only accurate to 1g. But once I started to make 3oz, I can clearly measure that there is way too much powder dispensed. I'm using Enfamil Enspire Optimum with setting 4. For 3oz it should dispense 13.2g of powder. However it has been dispensing 18g consistently. Then I tested with 4 oz - instead of 17.6g, it dispensed 25g. So every time it dispense 30-40% more than it should be. Now the only thing I'm hoping is my baby is not affected too much. I will use the scoop from now on.

NOTE: this test requires a scale that measures to the tenth or hundredth of a gram since most formulas measure out their weight per two ounces of water to the tenth of a gram. We've found that most issues are caused by not following the set-up, use and cleaning instructions fully, including looking up the proper setting for the formula brand/type you are using and cleaning the mixing funnel after every 4 bottles. When users follow the instructions completely, they rave about the machine and how much time it saves making bottles. We're confident you can feel the same way too. If we determine that there's an issue with your machine, we do offer a 1 year limited warranty that entitles you to a replacement or refund.

I mainly got this because my newborn was refusing to breastfeed and he was literally eating every 2-3 hours like clockwork even overnight. Trying to function with one eye open, I just wasn’t quick enough making his bottles so I would spill some formula and it got to me! With the bottle maker I can change his diaper while the bottle is being made and it’s so much more convenient! You really do have to clean the orange insert part every 4 bottles, it’s disgusting build up even after 3 bottles. So now that he’s eating less frequently I only use the machine at night time when I truly need it. I clean the insert every 3 bottles before it notifies me and I also clean the round container that holds the formula every other day. It gets a little clumped in there so I like to wash it and pour the formula back in. I got this more towards 2.5-3months when he wasn’t eating as much throughout the night anymore but I wish I would’ve gotten it from the very beginning and I would have bought an extra insert so I could do the cleaning in the morning. Also it’s noisy so a diaper change while the bottle is being made I found to be best!

Based on your comments, it sounds like there may have been an issue. All of our appliances come with a 1 year limited warranty so if there is a defect, we'll repair it or replace it if your product is still under warranty. We do require cleaning the mixing funnel after every 4 bottles to ensure that the proper amount of formula dispenses.

You do have to clean the parts where you store the formula daily and the parts where the water and formula come out after every 4 uses. Its really quick and easy to take apart though.

It sits out on the counter and we were struggling with a minor ant problem. The ants had no problem getting in from where the formula is dispensed from. We ended up having to throw out all the formula that was in the unit, and it hold a lot of formula so that was very sad. The other problem we had was the formula wasn’t the same consistency as when we mix it. We looked up the settings on their website for the formula we use and it came out a lot thinner than when we mix it by hand. Our baby was hungry all the time! Even though it used less than when we mixed it, it felt like we blew through formula much faster. Overall, it’s a good idea but it needs some refining.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.To start here is some basic facts why this is a terrible product: #1) the water / formula ratio is extremely important, your trusting your baby’s health on this machine being and staying accurate at dispensing water and formula. #2) the FDA recommends boiling the water to mix formula with very hot water and allowing it to cool to kill bacteria in formula and water, this machine barely warms the water #3) it’s inconvenient, the formula tank requires a minimum amount of formula be in the tank (almost half full) at all times or the ratio will definitely be wrong #4) the mixing cup requires cleaning after every 4 bottles made I’ve fed my baby formula since birth and had no issues, now at 3 months I tried out this machine and blood showed up in his poop with major colic. I stopped using it after googling how terrible this machine is and sure enough the baby colic has reduced significantly. This machine is poisoning your baby, if you are using it and don’t notice anything yet you are lucky yet we don’t know the long term effects.
