Dolly has done it again! She once again has proven to the world why she is the most honored female artist of all time! She is such a brilliant writer and this CD proves it. Every word is perfectly placed in each song! Her voice is like fine wine - it gets better with age. Her vocals float over every single note without struggle. The best song on this album is "I Will Forever Hate Roses", but Dolly proves on this album that she is not bound down to only pure country - she can sing anything and hit it top notch everytime! WAY TO GO DOLLY - YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!

WOW! This is Dolly as we haven't seen (heard) from her in quite some time. She takes the talent of writing music and puts it to beautiful music and makes us feel, and believe, we are living her story. It is truly quintessential Dolly. The melodies, the story lines, the passion in her voice. A must have for any country music fan. Great Job Miss Dolly.

First off, let me announce that I'm a big Dolly fan. Have been since I sat in the first row of a Dolly and Porter concert (well, it might have been billed as a Porter and Dolly concert) at the county fair -- oh, about 35+ years ago! But that doesn't discount what a great, great cd this is. I love the story line in "Backwoods Barbie", reminiscent of the classic "Coat Of Many Colors", as well as the catchy melody. Her heartbreak shows in "Made Of Stone" and in the two-sides-to-every-story, her portrayal as the other woman in "Cologne". But the one I catch myself singing to myself is "Jesus and Gravity" -- "something lifting me up, something holding me down..." So, buy this CD. You won't regret it.

Dolly is back! Dolly Parton is a music legend and she is back with her first mainstream country album in over 17 years! Dolly is a masterful storyteller and weaves her magic in and out of this album. The title track 'Backwoods Barbie' is a fun tell-all of how people perceive Dolly "in a push up bra and heels". And "even backwoods Barbie's get their feelings hurt". There's more to meet the eye in Dolly. She's a lot more than just heels and big, blonde hair! 'Better Get To Livin' is the first single and is so catchy! You will love it! The 'Dolly-Lama' offers up her advice to live life to the fullest. You MUST buy this album! AMAZING! Once again, Dolly does not disappoint!

"Backwoods Barbie" is dollys best work in years! dolly sees herself returning to more of the mainstream country music scene! the new single "jesus and gravity" is one of the best singles i have ever heard! dollys brings new life into the remakes "tracks of my tears" and "drive me crazy"- every single song on this cd is great! dollys vocals are strong and pure! "only dreamin" is one of dollys best vocal songs she has ever recorded! this cd should be in everybodys home/car!

Backwoods Barbie is one of Dolly's most exciting albums in years. The album is a great mix of new songs which exhibits many of Dolly's various music styles that we have all come to love over the years. Stand out tunes include Better Get to Livin', Jesus and Gravity and Backwoods Barbie (from the upcoming Broadway musical 9 to 5).

Dolly is back to a mainstream country sound on this album, with a little pop, gospel, and blues to go with it. The title track is an autobiographical song, and "Jesus and Gravity" is a wonderful gospel song sure to be compared with the impact of "He's Alive". Dolly gets down and sassy on "Shinola", and pours out emotion on "Cologne" and "Made of Stone". Wonderful album!

This album is fantastic, once you play it you cannot stop. a great new album from the queen of country. If you liked Dolly in the past then you'll love this new episode of this perfect ladies carrier. An absolute must.

Dolly sounds great. the mixture of music and lyrics met all my expectations. I was not disappointed. Way to go Dolly!

It has been awhile since Dolly has released a mainstream country CD and it was worth the wait!

Jesus and Gravity is going to be a huge hit for Miss Dolly!! Well worth the price, I have bought 6 of them to give to friends.

"Backwoods Barbie" is great. Two of the songs alone, Better Get to Livin' and Drives Me Crazy, are worth the CD's price!
