Not as good as the first movie, but had its moments.

Give this one a chance! I love the original and thought the sequel would disappoint. I was wrong. Hands down it was not as good as the first because Bernie Mac and John Ritter added an extra element, but the chemistry between the main characters was still excellent. This one was a bit more extreme than the original but quite entertaining if you like off color humor! There were enough laughs in it that I would recommend it.

I absolutely love Bad Santa. It was an instant classic when it was first released and made it into my annual Christmas movie rotation every year around December. I watch it a good 4-5 times in December and never grow tired of it. The "Badder" cut or the Director's cut, doesn't matter (though I prefer the Badder cut). Bad Santa represents one of the last true great dark comedies. Bad Santa 2 is too little, too late though. The nice thing about Bad Santa was that, aside from featuring vulgar language, it didn't rely on the typical comedy tropes of the early 2000's. Bad Santa 2 uses every modern comedy trope that has been featured in every Melissa McCarthy, Seth Rogen, etc. comedy for the last 10 years. It took a troubled, deep, yet funny character and turned them into a cardboard cutout of their former selves. Except for some of the cast, none of the original writers, producers, or director came back for this movie. Kathy Bates is absolutely wasted here. They tried to turn her character into something that she's never done before but the movie focuses too much on her. The first Bad Santa's best moments were the interactions between Willie and the Kid and Willie and Marcus, we don't get much of that here and what we do get is rather ho-hum. It also doesn't help that most of the funny scenes were shown in the first two trailers for this movie. Christina Hendricks is the new love interest but, unlike the first movie, she isn't grounded in reality. Lauren Graham's character (Sue) in the first Bad Santa was meant to be a grounding character. She helps the audience identify with Willie as a real person instead of just a raging, mean alcoholic. That's not the case here. The audience doesn't get a grounding character at all with Bad Santa 2 except for a few moments with Willie and that just doesn't fit the character. Yes, deep down, Willie is a good guy but he starts acting in this manner half-way through the movie instead of actually learning a lesson. I had such high hopes for this film but it took too long to come out and all of the original luster has been lost. Compared to most other modern comedies, it isn't bad. I would give it about a 6/10. I think that The Night Before is a better, modern Christmas comedy but, when compared to other modern comedies in general (like The Boss, Bad Moms, etc.), Bad Santa 2 is OK. It's absolutely terrible when compared against the original film. I was expecting it to be worse than the first but not by this large of a margin, hence my score of 2/5. If you're a fan of the original and truly have to see this movie, just rent it and move on. Wait for this to hit $2.99 during Black Friday this year if you really want to own it.

This movie rocks. Usually nothing, of course, is at good as the first. This held. up. I've heard that it tried to go over the top and didn't work, amongst other things. Don't listen to any of that. This director and Billy Bob know what they're doing. The first one came out before this kind of comedy was a big hit. "40 Year Old Virgin" had not came out yet. The second is amazing. Just see it, and buy it. Pray to god there is a 3rd.

Ok so the 1st bad Santa is better however this second entry is not bad it's ok. this movie had lots of nasty jokes in it more then the 1st one which is ok because what bad Santa is dirty old man, Anyways i would say watch it if you liked the 1st one.

Yes, it's similar to the first film (surprise!) I just find Billy Bob Thornton to be at his most entertaining when he plays skanky characters like this. If you're easily offended by raunchy humor, stay away, otherwise you'll have a good laugh.

The first movie "Bad Santa" Is one of my all time favorites. Bad Santa 2 Is very funny but some of the humor from the first movie,was inserted into this film making those scenes kind of poorly done or just not funny. That aside I Still laughed almost all the way through the movie. I recommend watching "Bad Santa" before watching this movie because if you haven't seen Bad Santa you will be lost watching Bad Santa 2.

Great film sequel that deserved to be given the 4K treatment. BEST BUY: PLEASE GET FILM STUDIO TO ALSO PRODUCE BAD SANTA ON 4K and then come out with a 2-film SteelBook package! Bad Santa is one of the greatest Xmas films of all time! As a film collector, I prefer Best Buy’s SteelBooks because they are more durable and attractive than the typical flimsy plastic casings.

This movie is a good sequel to Bad Santa, but it is just not quite as funny. But don't let that stop you from buying it, it is still funny in its own right, Billy Bob steals the show again, he makes this movie worth picking up.

Even though not as heart warming as the first one, it's still a funny sequel. Kathy Bates is good as Billy Bob Thorton's mom . Christina Hendricks from Mad Men also looks great here. It's funny they actually brought back the same actor to play the chubby kid from the first movie, like w/ the blind kid in Dumb & Dumber To, for continuity's sake. Really reminds you the passage of time.

Not as good as the first, but I'd say it comes in a close second. Billy Bob still plays the dirtiest santa well and Bates was a good addition. It's definitely worth a watch if you enjoyed the first one as much as I did (A LOT)!

This movie is just as enjoyable as the first film. All of the actors from the original film, who returned for the sequel, did a great job of reprising their roles. Like the first film, the story has a happy ending.

Bad Santa 2 [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray] [2016] I enjoyed this movie, if you liked the first one you should like this one. Of course not as good as the first one but few are.

This movie is funny and worth the purchase. I don’t believe it’s better than the first, but it is good. I bought it after watching it for free on Netflix, but we all know a good movie is worth owning.

Is this a great film? No. Is it a fun film? Yes. If you enjoyed the first movie, check this out. If you didn't, don't bother. If you never saw the first one, watch it before watching this one.

Not a bad movie for a sequel to a really good Christmas movie. This one wasn't too bad with a number of scenes that made me laugh out loud. The ending just made me howl with laughter.

It's likely the first movie could never be topped. However, this movie didn't disappoint in any way. If you love the 1st movie, there's no reason you wouldn't like this one as well.

This a good twisted filled with tons of laughs and lots of fun Christmas movie. A movie that just makes you want to laugh and laugh and just have a good time enjoying the foolishness.

This movie had big shoes to fill. The first was great, this one was not as funny, but still funny. They waited too long to make the sequel. But it is worth watching

This movie is very average and the First one was better. The 4K transfer has NO HDR so buyer beware. It is probably not worth the buy as the bluray would be just as good.
