Getting an original pressing of this is not happening unless you want to shell out some moolah. Thankfully, you can get this a great price, because it’s truly an experience on vinyl. It sounds great, pressed flat, and very quiet. Very basic though. No printed inner, and no download card. Oh well.

We got this version because my wife let our daughter take the 25th anniversary version. It plays just as well just not as cool of the outer sleeve.

Words can't describe how much I love this album, but, I'll try.... I was in my late teens when grunge hit and it was a breath of fresh air which kicked rock n roll in its needed butt. Gone was guys wearing spandex, girlie make-up, teased up hair set in place with Aquanet complete with sugar coated power ballads. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam & Soundgarden led the way to restructure hard rock/punk as we know it. BadMotorFinger was a constant kept cassette in my walkman, but many years later found a first pressing of this gem of an album on vinyl. I think the band peaked with this record, then sort of lost their way getting too commercial for their next two albums after this one. This album just has a psychedelic surreal dark atmosphere, with the band maturing from is previous "noise" type musical offerings. Cornell's vocal attack with great screams at times filled with angst & desperation just added beautifully to the ebb and flow of this record. Stand out tracks on this album are JESUS CHRIST POSE, RUSTY CAGE, SEARCHING WITH MY GOOD EYE CLOSED, SLAVES & BULLDOZERS and the fantastic OUTSHINED! If wanna skip compilations and to delve into the band's studio albums, then BADMOTORFINGER is the place to start!

With heavy tracks like "Outshined", "JCP", & "Room A Thousand Years Wide" it's hard to say if this is better than Superunknown or not, but it's definitely a little more raw. I began to truly appreciate Cornell's vocal range on this one.
