When I got my pizza oven, I didn't get a chance to put it together right away, but as soon as I could, I put it together and went out and purchased all the ingredients I would need. I put the pizza oven on the back burner of my stove, and turned on the burner to heat the oven. It took a lot longer than 20 minutes, but when it was hot, it was hot. I then put my pizza In and turned it about 8 minutes and when it was done, I took it out and let it cool and then I tried it. It was really really good! I actually had to turn on my fan and face it out the window because of all the smoke, but other than that, it's well worth it for the average Pizza Lover!

    Innovative indoor pizza oven

I like the professional feel of this little unit, heavy but not too heavy. It came neatly packed and required about 5 minutes of assembly. The stones fit like Lego pieces so fairly easy. It's great that they give you a custom sized peel and handy spatula, fits perfectly in the diminutive opening. It says not to put it on a stovetop with top knobs, but since my high powered burner is located in the center, I felt I could easily control the flame without any risk of burning myself. It took about 10 minutes to surpass 600° on my 22k BTU burner after which I put the pizza in. The temperature gauge on top of the unit is kind of a joke since it uses 3 symbols that should let you know when it's hot enough. I used an infrared handheld unit to get accurate temps. Pizza took about 5 minutes to cook turning 1/4 every minute. Burned a bit on the crust, but within my limits. I like it for it's ease of use and sturdy feel, I don't like that it feels a bit cramped. But I knew that prior to purchase. If you're going to make a bunch of personal pies and it's too cold to go outside, then this is the oven for you. It gives pizza the brick oven taste.

When you heat it up and doesn't cook the pizza evenly even when you preheat the more than 20 minutes. Overall I would not recommend purchasing this pizza oven.

I really dig this pizza oven. First one I have ever owned or used. I have always made pizzas in the oven and occasionally on the grill but the crust is always crunchy and I love a softer crust, now get to enjoy a less crunchy crust if I prefer. The oven was quick to put together and everything seemed strong and solid, well made product. Minimal effort to put it all together as well. Once heated this bad boy takes a few minutes to cook your pizza. Its so fast, be sure to turn your hood on full speed to suck all the heat away. Once done set your burner to high and toast away any bits that might have been left in the oven. Wait a while for it to cool and just tilt it into the trash can to clean it out.We are planning a pizza party and will be letting everyone build their own personal pizza, its that fast that we could even sit down together and eat. Or make a bunch of concoctions and all get to try something new. Can't wait to try out this oven for other cooking options, who knows what can be baked up in this bad boy.

Before I got this pizza oven from Bakerstone, I was looking at a lot if different options. I have a Traeger BBQ, so I was not sure how their BBQ top ovens would work on the wood pellet set up. Especially with you needing to close the hood to get the best temperature for the food. So now we have the gas stove top model and it is awesome. It is big and heavy, but that is mainly due to the clay parts inside. The case iron top on my stove can be a somewhat imperfect or not particularly level surface, but the Bakerstone sat perfectly level on it. The gap between the stove flame and the Bakerstone is just enough that the heat rises directly through the center of the pizza oven and disburses pretty evenly. If you hold your hand in front of the pizza oven, you can feel the rush of hot air coming out the front of the Bakerstone. This is good and bad. Since we used flour on the dough, it can be tricky getting the pizza off the pizza paddle into the oven. You will end up spilling some flour on the clay at one point or another, and that will burn since the oven gets so hot. Depending on your gas stove set up, you may trigger your smoke detectors. The directions say to place the pizza oven on the biggest eye of your stove, which for us was the front left one. In doing this, and with the heat radiating out the front of the pizza oven the smoke is not absorbed by fan/hood. My correction to that was a few different things. One, I moved it to a different burner in the back. It did not work as well, as it did not get as hot. But it still worked well enough. The second option is what we plan on doing this weekend, and that is getting it outside and using a coleman stove we have. It is a basic one eye gas propane burner and we will have a get together outside using that. I hope that works well, as it is easier to clean up a mess outside vice off the stainless stove top. All and all, this pizza oven is a great option for indoor use as long as you have the right set up. Mine works, but it is not ideal and I have to make sure nothing burns and gets the smoke detectors going off! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that enjoys homemade pizza and likes to make them at home. Cook time varies, but we usually had pizzas done in 4-5 minutes. We did have to rotate them once, as the back of the pizza oven is hotter than the front. Just be aware of that. I would definitely get one again, we really like it!

Makes Delicious Pizza - Takes Some Time to Finess

The BakerStone - Gas Stove Top Pizza Oven Box is an ingenious creation. Once we dialed it in, it produced a delicious, artisan pizza. Assembly was mostly straight-forward, though it took a few trys to get some of the alignment to work. The warnings about heat and a minimum clearance of 10-11 inches caused us some concern. We finally put damp cloths over the areas of exposure. After using it, we realized we didn't have to be quite as concerned. We had the stove burner set to high, but it took about an hour (not 20 minutes) for the heat indicator to barely cross the line into the pizza range. It never went higher. As a result, we needed to more than double the recommended times for rotating and cooking the pizza. As far as cleaning, we let it continue on high heat (per instructions) for 20+ minutes, but there are still some spots that did not cook off. Although the above issues could be frustrating, they also add to the 'artisan' experience. It's all about experimenting and dialing it in according to your tastes - all of which makes the finished product feel very personal and unique. Once we got it going, my wife and I had a great time with it. And we thoroughly enjoyed our personal, handcrafted, stone-cooked pizzas! This is a great product. I only gave it 4-stars because there is room for improving the design and functions.

    GREAT PIZZA BOX

I absolutely love this pizza box! We made homemade pizzas that came out so so good. We all loved them. They cooked so fast too! Once that oven box heats up, its so fast! Just remember to rotate the pizza around because its hotter in the back of the box so one side doesnt come out more crispier than the other sides. We tried the pizza recipe that the instructions had and the pork chops and they were both soo soo good. I have never made homemade bread or crust so I didnt know that kneading the bread by hand was much better than a hand mixer. It says use a stand mixer (which I dont own) so that maybe better, but if you have a hand mixer without the proper bread kneading attachment, it won’t work. Your better off kneading by hand. The pork chops were a hit and super delicious. I cant wait to try more meats and veggies with this cooker and making more pizza’s! It really is pretty awesome.

You'll know that this BakerStone oven is a quality piece of hardware from the moment you take it out of the box. It feels solidly constructed and is beautiful in it's simplicity. It does take a fair amount of time to heat up to a stable & proper temperature, gets rather hot to the touch during use and afterwards - so not especially safe in a household with curious children, and you are limited to the size of pizzas you can bake this in this footprint. Expect to leave this puppy in place for a good while after use to allow it to completely cool down. It's a heat capacitor by design ; ) and that is what makes it perform so very well. With all that said, this is a great kitchen accessory for the task of making pizzas at home - from scratch. The included accessories are a nice touch. Highly recommended!

In our family, we love pizza, you must too if you are reading this! I saw this Pizza Oven and had to try it. Doing my research before getting anything I quickly learned the name Blackstone. Makers of many outdoor cooking products such as BBQ and cookers I jumped on the pizza for my gas stove. Yes Gas stove but they also have one for use on your gas grill! So I saw the video and was amazed at how quick it can make a pizza, not any pizza but a fresh pizza. Opening the box it was well packed. Lots of ceramic plates and foam to protect it in shipping. Took a bit of assembly, was being careful not to break a ceramic plate but once done was left with a great looking mini pizza oven. Basically it sits on your stove and the heat is transferred thru the unit and stored in the ceramic tiles! This is how it gets so hot which is needed for making a great pizza quick. It even comes with pizza tools! I will admit, at first we tried a store bought frozen pizza. I was impressed but not there yet so we tried a local Clubs pizza that’s pre made (uncooked), cut it to fit the ovens 11” and was like wow, this is better. Finally got to making our own dough, got the hang of it and was blown away at how good and fast. It’s capable of making an 11” pizza. Now the upside is that once you get the hang of it, you can make a pizza to your exact liking! Save all the toppings and even get store bought dough or go all out and make your own. Pull it all out of the fridge, create your pizza and have it cooked in minutes! It’s a fun way to make a lot of GREAT pizza cheap and with the family while having fun! Clean up is a breeze. Temp control is easy with burners and it’s built in temp gauge. If you or your family loves Pizza, and want to create your own, THIS IS IT. Looks great and very affordable.

It's an okay product. First of all, it requires installation. It is not difficult, but it requires patience. You need to make sure that all parts align so that other subsequent parts fit perfectly. Quality of the parts and product is good. Here comes the challenge, the first time i tried it, I made pizza from those doughs in a can. Got excited, got everything together-- then the pizza launch inside was messed up. It was horrible. The pizza inside was messed up and I had to worry about all the pizza ingredients falling off etc. It was a disaster. I had to dismantle what I installed in order to clean the stove, just to give it another chance. I learned that you cannot put soft dough in there. It will not work, unless you want to go hungry. Second time around, I bought one of those pizza crusts-- put all ingredients in and launched the pizza in. It cooked fast-- you need to make sure you watch it and spin the pizza as it said. The smoke was insane too by the way, in both my attempts even if my exhaust was on super high. BUT, pizza result was good. Fresh pizza and cooked how I like it (since I was watching it the whole time). HOWEVER, I think I could have achieved the same in my regular oven. It would have taken longer for sure but I did not have to get the stove box ready and all that. It is definitely not for straight out beginners or non savvy people who want stone cooked pizza. It requires skills. Perhaps you can achieve the pizza you want in LESS TIME but it needs skills because you have to be careful about a lot of things-- setting up, the cooking process, being careful with the components since it is extremely hot, etc. If you have an oven at home, you can do without it. If you do not have an oven though, and you just have a stove top, you will be able to do minor oven things with it-- and cook great pizza. Again, it is not a "plug and play" product. It requires a lot of things in order to achieve good pizza. If you are up for that, then this may work for you.

Box came well packed- nothing would move! Amazingly one of the little support bars was bent and twisted. There was no way this was done in transit. Anyway, my brother in law straighted it out- easy fix. So, then came the "putting it together" phase. After a few hours, many cuss words, and an engineering degree, we got it together correctly. So on the stove it goes! We cheated and used a rising crust frozen pizza and it really did a kick-butt job. Crust was perfect, toppings melted perfect- just like out if a pizza oven. So, dinner was a success! Clean up was a bit different. This thing put off heat, which is why you need that fan going. We ended up putting it carefully in the oven to cool down. The pizza stone in my oven is perfectly seasoned and it will take time for these pieces to get seasoned so just a wipe off of the solids! I can't wait to make bread in it! The reason for only 4 stars is the time it took to put together and the heat involved- it heated up my kitchen. I would recommend this as it is fun!

The oven looks gorgeous with stainless steel and black outer layer. I have a 4 burner natural gas stove. Mix the ingredients in the proper order at the right time. Using this oven I have done parties for over 30 people and it turns out 12-14 pizzas in less than an hour. Unlike the grill that takes time to get heated, gas top takes very less time to get heated up. Pros: 1) Looks gorgeous 2) Cooks quickly and evenly 3) Good weight 4) Nice and big on the inside as well as on the outside 5) Assembling was very quick 6) Looks in water / air into crust. Makes moist and crunchy crust. Cons: 1) Heat dissipates quickly 2) Difficult to clean the inside Easily the best pizzas you will ever make at home with fresh vegetables. A great cheap product for your home.

We made individual size pizza’s for four of us over about an hour span. It will hold about a medium pizza but each of us wanted something a little different. Once it was heated to where we needed it to be, the process was simple, put it in and let it cook for about 4 minutes in total for each one. The result was excellent but more importantly we had a lot of fun doing it. The made the crust relatively thick (not deep dish), added sauce cheese and ingredients. Once we were all done with the prep work, we were able to fit two in at a time. I recommend using this often. Although we have only used it for pizza, we will be doing a chocolate chip pizza cookie next so that we can cook it and add vanilla ice cream on top of it. My only negative is the weight and size but it’s what you get for a device like this. Make sure you have a place to store it in mind.

I had never heard of this type of home unit until I received it to try at home. I was impressed by the concept because we eat a lot of pizza at home. Baking it in our kitchen oven is all good but it never has that fresh restaurant quality to it. This pizza oven box does require a larger footprint of grill area so ideally a 3 or 4 burner is best. I tried it on my relatives 2 burner grill and this wasn’t going to fit on it so be sure to know your measurements before purchase. Simply follow the instructions and let the unit preheat and get up to temperature. Slide your pizza in and out it comes in about 5 minutes time. Nicely baked crust and sizzling cheese and toppings. It’s pretty close to the restaurant experience from a wood fired pizza restaurant but at my own leisure on my own grill. Great product and easy to use make this a win/win for me.

If you looking for a way to get that great pizza taste found in your favorite pizza place at home, look no farther than the BakerStone Gas Oven Pizza Oven Box Kit. Just place the oven over your largest oven burner and your pizza will be ready in about 5 minutes. This device has 4 walls of pizza stone to heat and bake your pizza just like at your favorite pizza place. The pizza I prepared baked the dough perfectly--all in 5 minutes! The only downside of this oven is that it takes longer to heat the oven to the proper 600-800º than to bake each pizza. If you love making your own pizza at home, consider the BakerStone to make your favorite pizza even better!

Very well constructed. That’s about all the good I can say. This is one of those items you scan for your registry because it looks like a fun idea. It’s not. It is cumbersome, dangerous, and not at all convenient. It takes 30 minutes to heat up, five minutes to cook a pizza, and 90 minutes to cool enough to clean or move. That’s two hours any way you look at it. We actually had to carry ours outside due to the excessive smoke from a drip on the stone. I made a second pizza and baked it in the conventional gas oven. Ten minutes to preheat, 14 minutes to cook, no clean up.
