Replaced my 2005 DVD with this new signature Blu-ray edition. Don't pass it up because you think it's a Disney movie and only for kids. There's less than 1,000 words of dialogue in the entire movie, so the plot is carried mostly through the stunning, impressionistic visuals, and lush music soundtrack composed by Frank Churchill and Edward Plumb (who were recognized with two Academy Award nominations). Picture and sound quality are excellent, and the special features are interesting, but mostly the same as in the earlier editions. Be sure to purchase if you don't already have the 2011 Blu-ray edition.

Bambi rightly remains a pillar in the Disney canon considering both its artistic and storytelling merits. It's a classic that's destined to live on for generations to come. This "Signature Collection" re-release is very much like the others. It adds some supplements and drops a few others. The additions are fine, though beyond the superior menu screen and much more efficient (and very much welcome) supplemental layout, there's no reason for previous owners who aren't completionists to upgrade. For first-time Blu-ray buyers, it's obviously a must-own.

bambi brings back the feeling of innocence before innovation. movies today are so “cookie cutter”.

I bought this because I hadn't watched it in a long time. Glad I picked it up while it was on sale.

It is a classic that never grows old and it is stunning. Tyrus Wong did the production design, it is stunning and gorgeous in every way. You just do not see beauty of this caliber anymore. Hand drawn animation is an art form all by itself and this is one of the best. Disney did many memorable hand drawn animated films in the early days, but not like this. All the other films are lovely but this one goes beyond. The digital restoration is beautifully done. I highly recommend it for all members of the family.

I hadn't seen it since I was a kid, and rewatching it this week I was completely enamored and surprised that I had overlooked it all these years. It's one of my favorite Disney animated films now. I'm not sure why it wasn't one of my favorites growing up, but adult me loved it. Sweet and charming, yet it isn't afraid to hit children with the sad truth about life. Plus, it's gorgeously animated to boot. I want to watch it again this week, just because I can't stop thinking about the artistry.

Great classic and i got it at a great price! Now we can take it everywhere.

I am definitely enjoying the Best Buy exclusive lenticular covers that have come with the release of these classic Disney animated films. If you previously bought the Diamond Edition release from a few years ago, it's a toss up as to where you should double dip. The video transfer seems to be exactly the same and most of the Extras from the previous release are included. However, there are some new ones and this set also comes with a Digital Copy.

This is the classic Bambi from Disney. Definitely one for the collection.

I got the movie to add it to my Disney movie collection. And it's great.

This movie is as good as I remember it from my own childhood, however this movie was purchased for a younger member of the family who was not so lucky go have grown up before digital things and awesome movie effects and wanted to slum it, with a back in the day kind of film. This movie met all of her expectations and a whole new generation has gotten to cry and be angry after watching Bambi loose his mother. Great movie though seriously!

Bambi is a great family movie and a true "Classic" animated movie from the golden age of animation from Walt Disney Productions. This particular item was discounted to $19.99 this week and included a digital movie along with the DVD and Blu-ray. The price of the digital movie on iTunes is $19.99, so you are essentially getting the DVD and Blu-ray version for free. Great deal and the lowest price among all of Best Buy's competitors!

What a beautiful story. The Tyrus Wong influence of the breathtaking illustration was so different from the other animated movies of that period. The enclosed Tyrus Wong Bambi card was such a great tribute for the well deserved appreciation of this fantastic and talented artist. It took a long time for Disney to bestow this well deserved recognition for Mr. Wong's contribution on this film. A true and timeless treasure.

I haven't watched this film in its entirety since I was little kid, and now, taking the time to watch it again brought back some many wonderful memories of my childhood. In fact, so many of the older Disney movies do. But "Bambi" is a classic, full of gorgeous animation, and certainly an emotional journey for all who watch it. Do yourself a favor and share it with your family. So much beauty in one animated film.

I'm pleased to own this copy of "Bambi," and I really like this exclusive cover from Best Buy. It kind of reminds me of the vintage vhs covers from a couple of years ago. If you don't have this movie and want to start a Disney collection then I'd say get this. If you already purchased an earlier bluray then I don't think you're missing anything... unless that Oswald short is new, and you want to get that.

I remember watching it when I was young. So, when it came out on bluray I had to get it for my kids. It was pretty cool to watch my kids reaction to this movie. There was definitely an explanation of things. But they love seeing the deer in our backyard and seeing Bambi. I am also happy that it has a DVD with it, so my kids can watch the movie in the car. That's one thing I wish the 4k movies came with.
