Customers are impressed with the Beoplay Portal's sound quality and comfort, frequently citing its lightweight design. However, negative feedback centers on the high price point, inconsistent battery life, and occasional connectivity issues. Some users also noted that the volume could be improved and that the bass response might not satisfy all listeners. The active noise cancellation feature received mixed reviews, with some finding it effective while others felt it could be better.

Extremely comfortable, great sound. Only 4 stars because I can't listen to music from my phone via bluetooth and the game sound from my Xbox at the same time.

These headphones are exceptional in almost every aspect. The quality of them is great, they feel good and they look good. They sound amazing for music, are not as good as expected for gaming. They are intuitive with their controls. The app makes it easy to switch settings around also.
Cons: They aren't worth the price point as others have stated, they fit more around the 800x elite and A50 pricing. The sound for gaming could be way better than what it is.

Great headset but would never have felt they were worth $500 if that’s what I had paid. The on sale price is more in line with what you get. I’ve found them excellent for gaming and music.

I was very excited to get ghis headset. After my workhorse turtle beach finally started to show its age, I decided to treat myself to these for the dolby atmos, native xbox wireless and bluetooth capability. The look and feel nice, very premium finish, however thats where the wow factor stops. First off the battery life isnt horrible but doesnt last as long ad I would expect, it seems like I am constantly charging them mid session. Second, the constant disconnects… its extremely rare for these to maintain their connection for more than 40 minutes. I often have to resort to plugging them in directly to the controller, which causes you to lose some premium fearures (atmos). Third, the mic quality doesnt seem so great, team mates usully say I sound, “crunchy”. Not the experince I would expect for the price. Im currently using the new microsoft wireless headset and its outperfoming these in every way for a fraction of the price. Also worth mentioning I have uodated the firmware and contacted support, still the same experience. Save your money.

This is a wonderful sounding headphone. This headphone is for consumers who like a balance sound signature, like me. It is not a default U or V shape sound signature headphone. But a high quality sound retrieval in the highs, mids and lows. It works wonderfully with Xbox too. One issue I am having is with the direct connection with Xbox. The signal has too many interference compare to dongle style headphone. But that may vary upon each user. But.... B&O make your haters your motivators.

These are amazing for gaming and for general use! Battery life is great, sound quality is superb, and they are extremely comfortable. The mic works great during games and on calls, noise cancelation is also very good. If you're looking for all purpose headphones, there are the ones and I would argue they are worth the price tag!

Great product. Treat yourself. Between my Series X and PS5 (with wired usb c connection) I have a quality headset compatible with both my consoles. Product is overpriced but welcome to 2021. Worth it in the short term. More importantly, worth it in the long term.

Amazing sound. Buttons not easy to use. Options are endless most versatile headset I’ve ever owned..if your looking for heavy bass these are not for you. However if looking for purest closed ear sound these are best in class.

The very best headphone and headset I’ve ever had. This company usually makes thousand dollars headphones for Magnolia. So 500 is a bit more affordable for them. Either way these headphones are great. If the price is a bit much wait for some holiday sales.

The sounds is great, but I don’t know if it’s any better than headsets a few hundred dollars cheaper. I like the B&O headphones because they are lightweight and comfortable, so I don’t get hot or a headache, which is what keeps me from using most other high-end headsets.

These cans are great! Great sound and the fact they work with Xbox and very comfortable when wearing glasses. I also like these because they don’t have the gaming look of other headsets. But they are quite expensive.

Sound quality is great but i have encountered many issues. I would like to include the issues I'm experiencing because I have watched alot of reviews and these issues have either not been brought up or experienced.
• Audio cuts in and out on xbox and P.C. (Worst on P.C.)
• Sound cuts out if pushed to max on headset (Not if adjusted on app)
• No noise gate setting
• Tested mic and voice sounds far away
• Tested mic and background noise is very noticeable. Bottom presses can be heard on the controller
• Voice/game volume mixer does not work on P.C.
• Settings do not save when headset is turned or or after switching modes
• Audio cue needs to be louder when voice/game mixer is maxed or in the middle
• Volume cues would be nice at 1/2 and max volume.
• No command to end calm only answer
• No command for next/previous song.

I’ve been on a months long search for a high quality Xbox x headset. I went through three different headsets. All were ok but ultimately there was something wrong/didn’t work right with each one. (I don’t have enough time in the day to write out all the details) $500 is a lot but I’ve had zero problems or dislikes (so far, knock on wood) from this headset. I’m coming from A40’s, and these sound better! The app functionality is amazing. Edit eq and anything else on the fly. Firmware update from the app as well. No plugging into a pc. The $500 has been worth it to me, no headaches, reliable, and amazing sound.

I had high hopes these would be a decent headset. They are just ok. When taking them out of the box they did not feel or give the impression of being a $500 headset. I expected a little more. They are light and feel pretty sturdy but, for comfort, they didn't meet it for me. I have a bigger head so the earpads rest on the bottom of my ears causing them to ache after a little while even when the earcups were extended to it's full length. Not everyone will run into this issue. Big heads beware.
Audio/Connection- When the audio worked without issues they sound good and had nice bass with no distortion at high volumes. Speaking of volume. These don't get too loud. Most of the time I had to have the volume around 65-70% to have the game at an acceptable level and I usually don't listen to music or play games at high levels constantly. Also, I wish there was an audible beep whenever you hit 50% volume when adjusting it up or down.
I did not try them on console so I can't speak on that but on PC when using the xbox wireless dongle it would constantly disconnect. Bluetooth connection was good and the audio was great but, the 2.4hz connection was not good and would either cause audio crackling or just disconnect with no warning. To me the Audeze Penrose and Mobius sound better when compared to this and other high-end "gaming" headsets(Astro A50,Arctis Pro Wireless etc.). Yes, one of those is wireless but any other "gaming" headset at that price does not compare in audio quality. These come close
The app - Pretty easy to use but had issue with updating the firmware but eventually I installed it. It has a nifty setting wheel in bluetooth that lets you adjust the the sound eq to be warmer, energetic etc. It also allows you to change chat mix in the app or directly on the headset but this feature doesn't work on PC.
The microphone - From when I asked friends on Discord. "That sounds worse than a laptop microphone" Headsets that are less than half the price of these have better microphones. In earcup microphones are never going to sound great no matter what fancy technology they say they are using. This ain't it chief
Other issue: Each time you pair the headset the volume level will not save and you have to readjust it each time. With the constant disconnects (it was very often) it would set itself to 50% which is what it defaults to I believe which sounds way too low at that level.
Overall - I really wanted to like them from when they were first announced but I wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for a gaming headset. If you don't already have a set of bluetooth headphones and also want something for gaming too I still wouldn't recommend these for $500. At $500 there are too many issues or things that aren't good enough to warrant the price. $300 - $350 might be a more fitting price point for them. I feel like these were bluetooth headphones first with the added ability to connect to an xbox/pc with 2.4hz connection. I didn't bother checking on how Dolby atmos sounds because the wireless connectivity issues I had were enough for me to stop using them. These may be good headphones but as a headset I feel like it falls short on that part which is what they are mainly marketed as. If Audeze can fix the wireless connection issues with the Penrose I may go back to those but I don't think that will happen.

I'd wish they were a bit cheaper being $500 is steep. Between $350 to $400 seems appropriate

Excellent sound quality for competitive gaming and also for music. I’m a professional audio producer and the clarity and richness of this sound is one of the best I’ve experienced in a headset. This is the fourth headset I’ve tried for gaming and others don’t even compare! It’s incredibly accurate, and for gaming and film on the Xbox it has a included subscription to Dolby Atmos! I even test my final mixes on it. The hardware switches seamlessly between Xbox and iPhone / MacBook. When powered on, it immediately connects with you iPhone, and then holding down the other button connects to and powers on the Xbox console! Noise cancelling is great, and so is transparency. My brother has these two and absolutely loves them. Would 100% recommend.

Hard to justify spending 500 to use with a system that also cost 500.....
Overall, the sound is solid. Ease of use is also strong. Biggest beef is the lack of customization on the headset itself. Want to change to the next song? Use the app, because you can't via the headset.
