My father is a history buff and he found this DVD enjoyable.

Visual very good. Historical content generally good but with several errors of omission and commission. The barbarians are often portrayed as "freedom fighters", thus their idea of war, conquest, pillage loot etc is "okay". Choice of certain commentators poor as in their agenda does not exactly fit historical facts

If you like historical drama this is a great miniseries. It is accurate but also develops characters as they may have been. You will gain a great understanding of how vast and powerful the Roman empire was.

The History Channel has done it again! Yet another great documentary shot in "movie style" with good actors. Tells the tales of how the Barbarians rose up from their oppressors and challenged the very might of Rome. Excellent real stories with plenty of drama and action!

This is a good series though not a great one. I was ok with the series ending but the content is solid.

The History channel rarely puts out a bad series and this one, again, delivers.

This is a docu-drama which is really well done. Well acted. Informative. A lot of material here presented about as professionally as you could get.

I am very into the Roman Empire history. It was very interesting to learn about some events that I was not aware of.

I love this mini history about the romans vs the barbarians and I recommend this if you really love history
