The 4K Blu-ray looks gorgeous and is many, many miles better than the terrible old master that was on the 2008 Blu-ray. There have been complaints that the color temperature has been messed with but others have claimed that the 4K transfer more accurately resembles the original theatrical pallet and I'm more inclined to believe this. It looks very natural with vivid detail and colors and no obvious revision. It's also important to note that this is the first time Batman has been in the correct 1.85:1 ratio on home video instead of the slightly taller, unmatted 1.78:1 ratio that is typical of flat-shot movies from Warner Bros

Worth it just to see the cool Batmobile. But of course that doesn’t even get into Jack Nicholson as The Joker.

This film brings back memories of seeing the first Batman film on the big screen and I love seeing on blue ray.

Tim Burton's Batman is one of the best film noirs in color with fitting frenzied performances by all involved.

This is a classic film. I'll admit that it's hard to compete with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight, gritty and more realistic versions of Batman, but this quirky yet gothic version is one of the best still and it holds up. As a kid, whenever this came on TV, I'd get all excited and now I can watch it any time. The Blueray has some crisp visuals and for like 3 bucks you can scan the barcode on Vudu[dot]com and buy a digital version too.

Wish WB spent some actual time on menus, and special features. Please don’t fail us on The Shining 4K!!!

This may be an older film, but it is a classic. Tim Burton directed this film and really got the tone of The Dark Knight right for the first time in live-action. Danny Elfman's score also stands out as being iconic and would later be used as the main theme in the Batman: The Animated Series. Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson are a joy to watch in their roles as well. To me, this is the first great, live-action comic book movie and is an achievement for its time and influence on the genre and the industry. Overall, the blu ray is quite good considering this is an older film and I would recommend picking it up if you are a Batman fan!

I understand this was part of the Batman 1989-1997 collection that shared the same packaging design, but I always detest designs that fail to capture the era whence it originated. Being around when this was first released, there was a very tangible spirit about it captured in its own iconic logo down to its typeface. Here, they decided to go with a bland, modern design that captures none of its mystique; just Keaton & Jack floating over a white background and city that totally contradicts the Dark Knight. Such a shame, too, because the film's presentation here is as great as I've ever seen it. The BD's special features are all standard def but plentiful (the inclusion of Prince's Batdance is such a sweet blast from the past). If you're here just for the film, then it's an alright release. Otherwise, I would seek out a much stronger stylistic design befitting of 1989.

This is my favorite Batman movie and yes jack Nicholas was the best joker to besides mark Hamilton

This movie is responsible for the now-overdone Superhero craze. This is still one of the best.

Still the best Batman movie out there. Sorry Christian Bale, Michael Keaton did it better.
