Being a Batman fan, I jumped at the chance to own this on Blue ray. Like the comic book version, Bruce Wayne’s alter ego confronts a Jack The Ripper type villain in 1900’s Gotham City. The animation could have been a little better. However, a well written plot, and being done in 1:75 aspect ratio, made this a worthy addition to my DC collection.

This is one of the better DC Animated Universe movies. The story and the Victorian style are great and it is fun to see how different Batman characters are used in this time frame. That being said, the animation style is really poor even compared to other DC animated movies. The animation in the included bonus episodes of Batman: the Animated Series and Batman: the Brave and the Bold are much more fluid and detailed than the stilted and less defined animation in this movie. The Blu-ray A/V is good, despite the poor animation. The bonus features are the standard ones for DC animated movies: commentary, making of, bonus cartoons, and previews for other DC animated films. Despite the poor animation, I do recommend this movie!

Another nice DCU animated film. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Its nice to see something a little different than what were accustomed to when it comes to the Batman live action films anyways. The animated versions allows some diversion from the norm and its welcomed. This is decently animated, not top notch, but serviceable. It also has some nice special features to dig into and a commentary track. A good well rounded package that should please most Batman animated fans.

No one is safe in this crime noir alternative universe. Straight out of elseworld stories and into the screen. No one is safe and you’ll be suprised who gets the knife even if you can guess the villian. No it’s not the joker.

this is not a traditional Batman animated movie as it is set in the old times of I believe before the turn of the 20th century. They are familiar characters in different settings including Batman who is more detective in this storyline. Don't want to spoil much but it's different, not modern, but fascinating how they use these characters in a old setting. The ending is also surprising, at least for me it was. Must watch.

Keep in mind that this isn't a 100% faithful adaptation of the Elseworlds graphic novel of the same name. It takes the basic premise of the graphic novel but changes some of the major plot points in it. Having said that, it's still an excellent animated DC movie. Say what you want about DC's current day live-action movies but their animated movies are first-rate and this movie is further proof of that!

I've recently taken up photography as a hobby and was told this was the perfect camera for beginners with a serious interest. Love the camera, including how it looks. However, read the instructions. I thought, oh i can aim and click a button. But my images still came out blurry. The manual helped me to figure out which mode I needed for which occasions which helped my pics become crisper.

This wasn't tops on my list of Batman movies that I had to see, but I thought they did a nice job of transporting you back into the 19th Century. The story has a few twists and turns, and overall, feels fresh and distinct when compared with the glut of other superhero movies on the shelf these days. So if you like a little bit of steampunk in your hero-flicks, this is the movie for you.

As someone who grew up enjoying Batman, I’ve enjoyed some of the animated Batman movies as I’ve gotten older. This one, dark and not for children, is not an exception. There are some good twists and turns on the Jack the Ripper story that is done here. Worth watching for any fan of a Batman animated film.

I've been disappointed lately with DC's animated movies, but this was a fresh idea. An alternate universe story with Batman trying to find and stop Jack the Ripper. The extras talked about other stories from the comics, like Superman landing in Russia instead of the U.S. I'm hoping DC continues with those stories.

My family and I are Batman fans. My husband and I love this Batman movie. In it, the Ripper frequently interrupt Batman's and Catwoman's dates and kid-helping charity work. My favorite scene is where the cops stop Batman's carriage, and accidentally catch him...cuddling with Catwoman. Lol.

What can get better that Batman matching wits with Jack the Ripper. The storyline in old time London brings an interesting twist in Batman lore. The animation was very good and the story pace was on point. Some may find it hard to believe but will find it very entertaining.

This is a cerebral Batman animated film. Action is minimized in exchange for a deception fueled outing set in another time period. Young viewers may be unable to sit still with how slow the events in this film unfold. I did enjoy this alternate reality Batman flick.

I have always enjoyed these animations of the DC Universe and like how some of these have progressed into more adult-oriented themed. This one gets pretty graphic, after all, it is set in a "Jack the Ripper" style plot.

this film was so great that I wanted ti to be a lot longer and bolder. as it is, the film is amazing even if you are not a batman fan. Solid blu ray in combination with pop corn makes for a very cool film experience.

I like DC animated movies and as a whole the are good. This was not. The animation is not bad and the characters are likable enough, but for me the story was okay. Somewhat slow pacing with a plot that seems to be surface level at best. I found myself struggling to maintain focus on the movie. The mini hardcover comic is a welcomed additon but for me, like the movie, I found it slow paced with a the plot again being merely surface level. If you like Batman and the comic this based on then I would say get it. If you like DC’s more fast paced and better stories then this is a hard pass.

Loved this movie. Batman, even in a steam punk vibe is awesome. The villain fit the time and still gave Batman a run for his money. The story line was something like a real Sherlock Holmes movie.
