Figure and book enough said
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Epic exclusive! I was so happy for this movie to come out, I knew Best Buy had a great exclusive and boy was I happy after I bought it. The joker figure goes well with my batman, nightwing and robin figure. The comic was perfect size it fits in my pocket so when I'm at work I can quickly put the book in my pocket and when I'm done I can pull it out and continue reading. The movie was good, I still think the ending wasn't that great but it was the same ending as the comic so I can't say anything. I liked how they added the story about batgirl and batman. I highly recommend this for any batman or killing joke fans.

Batman The killing Joke DVD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the comic many years ago and the animated version is almost idectical to the comic book version. But I wasn't happy with the Batman, Batgirl subplot that was added to the story. When I took a second look at the cover and saw the R rating, then I understood. This one is definitely not for kids. But instead of doing an animated with this kind of context, they should've just made a live movie of it.

Great batman movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie was good but I was expecting a whole lot more. When I read the reviews about how it was rated R and they brought back the original voice of the joker, I was expecting more. The movie is great, batman, Batgirl, Gordon, and the joker are portrayed very well according to graphic novel. Overall it's batman, you can't go wrong with any of his movies. Buy it! Enjoy it! Why aren't you laughing!!?!!

The movie was ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie was ok, but I didn't like four things in it. I'm not much of a singing-in-the-movie type, so I could've done without that one song. Then, there's the messed up scene on the roof with Batgirl that's truly confusing, and then there's the puzzling ending of the movie. That ending was like, someone letting you watch a movie, but stopping it like 20mins before the end. What happened next?? ...And at what point is it ok for 'BATMAN' to laugh?? I mean, didn't his close friend just get kidnapped & striped nude, and was shown nude pictures of his daughter?? Did he forget what happened to Batgirl?? But yet when Joker told Batman a joke, he laughed so good that he had to put his hand on Jokers shoulder. Maybe its just me, but if you're dressed as a character who you want villians to fear, seems like the worst thing you could do is to humanize that character by laughing. And yeah, I know its just an animated movie, but DC is known for how good all their animated movies are. To me, they are held at a high standard when it comes to those types of movies, because DC has Marvel beat when it comes to that.

Good and Bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Batman: The Killing Joke is one of the great Batman graphic novels of all time. The animated adaptation of this seminal story is... both good and bad. The bad is pretty bad but the good is pretty darn good. The bad comes from the prologue -- to pad this 48-page story out into a full-length animated movie, a new prologue was written to flesh out Barbara Gordon/Batgirl's character. A nice idea in theory, but here's the problem... this isn't a Batgirl story. This is a Batman story; this is about Batman and his relationship with the Joker. Adding on extra with Batgirl seems out of place. Yes, the theme of being too wrapped up with ones adversaries certainly echoes into the main tale, but ultimately it feels tacked on, as does the brief epilogue. However, the main story is a faithful adaptation of the graphic novel, and it is incredibly gripping and entertaining. The animation is good, but not great. Though extra care is taken with the Joker to make him look more like Dave Gibbon's pencils. For Batman fans, it's definitely worth watching, though understand you will have to take the good with the bad.

Classic Batman Story w/ the return of Mark Hamill
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Killing Joke is one of the most classic Batman graphic novels ever released. It is the definitive tale of one of Batman's greatest villains, The Joker. This animated movie brings back the classic voice talent from Batman: The Animated Series with Mark Hamill as The Joker, Kevin Conroy as Batman, & Tara Strong as Batgirl! However, this is NOT for the kids! Definitely a hard R dark tale!

Good Movie of a Great Graphic Novel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To flesh out what is a relatively short graphic novel, the folks at WB Animation have added a significant story line at the front end of this movie. Some people like it, some people don't. I thought it was a fine addition, and they had to do something to make it longer. All in all its a good adaptation, but the graphic novel is still better. But you will like it if you like the comic.

Not as good as the graphic novel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This deluxe blu-ray came with some nice features; especially the Joker figure! Unfortunately the box it came (bought it in-store) was rather beat-up and the store had no other copies of it that were in better condition. The animated film itself was fairly solid in the last half but it pales in comparison to the graphic novel. Glad I purchased it; but not one of DC's strongest outings.

Good adaptation of a classic graphic novel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an adaptation of the classic Batman graphic novel of the same moniker, so it should be said that this is NOT FOR CHILDREN. It's a pretty faithful rendition, save for the unnecessary Batgirl/Batman prologue. I won't spoil anything, but I will say that it seemed out of place and awkward. With that said, I was happy to add this movie to my collection of animated DC films.

Awesome adaptation!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Batman: the killing joke could never have lived up to expectations from fans. The resulting film is a fairly faithful adaptation of the classic graphic novel. It is rated R & definitely not meant for kids, however I think there was more violence in previous DC animated films. Definitely check this out if you are a batman fan, but read the graphic novel first if you can!

Unique Product Offering
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever since I've started making my own purchasing decisions (many years) I have always been more drawn to exclusive or limited edition type of products. I still think one of the coolest CD's I own is the "Get A Grip" album by Aerosmith that is made of fabric. So when I saw this product sitting on the shelf, conveniently in the middle of a focus on Batman movies, I snagged it.

A nice change of pace
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoyed this nice change-of-pace, a decidedly more adult version of the "dark knight." Having said that, it wasn't really as shocking as I expected. And for parents worried about the "R" rating, I actually think a PG-13 would have sufficed. But this isn't kid-friendly Batman, for sure. It's certainly a treat to have Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill back in their familiar roles.

Pretty close
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good interpretation of the classic novel. Instill cant really say I love Mark Hammil as the Joker voice, but he's done it so long that I inagine it'd be odd for younger viewers. I was expecting a little grittier visual feel considering the novel, but it was fun nonetheless. Definitely not a kids show, but sort of required viewing if youre a 90s Batman follower.

Excellent Adaptation of Classic Comic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke" is one of the quintessential Batman stories to read. The movie version is exquisite, with 'Batman: The Animated Series' veteran voice actors Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill returning to their roles as Batman and the Joker, respectively. Hamill's Joker is still the best version to exist ever, beating out even the live-action portrayals by Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson, and Jared Leto. To my generation, Hamill and Conroy ARE Joker and Batman. And for parents out there, this is rated R for a reason. Do NOT buy it for your kids.

Worth it for Hamill alone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie has been getting some criticism, but Mark Hamill turns in one of his best performances as Joker. It's a treat to see him tackle the dialogue from the comic. Second half (comic adaptation) is very good. First half is nothing special, but I think getting undeserved criticism. As for the BD, I am very disappointed that there is no commentary track.

Another great Best Buy exclusive!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these DC Animated movies, and have every Best Buy exclusive of them that has been released! Each one has a figure that can't be found anywhere else. This movie was good, but differed slightly in it's adaptation from the comic story. I was not bothered by that, and enjoyed this purchase. I would recommend this to any fan of Batman, The Joker, or DC Comics.

This BestBuy exclusive version is the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie is highly controversial--the last half is faithful to the graphic novel; the tacked-on first half depicts a relationship between Batman and Batgirl that is illogical, inconsistent with the comics, and a betrayal of both characters. If you're going to buy this, though, this is the version to buy, with a cool Joker statute and an exclusive graphic novel.

Great but has its flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie overall was a great experience, the first half added onto the original killing joke story was a bit out of place in my opinion, however the latter half is one of the best joker stories around. If you haven't checked this out yet, do yourself a favor and watch this movie (for the joker story) or read the graphic novel, you wont be disappointed.

Fun DC animated movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The classic Batman story The Killing Joke gets the animated treatment. The DC Animated Universe continues to dominate the superhero animated movies. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill and Tara Strong lead the fantastic voice cast as the Batman, the Joker and Batgirl. This ends up being a Batgirl movie almost as much as a Batman and Joker movie.
