Battle chef brigade is a fresh mixture of genres, think 2D monster hunter but instead of crafting gear with your monster part you cook them. The gameplay is really simple but engaging, you'll be given a theme ingredient and elemental flavour then you proceed to hunt monsters in a small arena to get ingredients and then rush back to the kitchen to cook em, all in limited time in an iron chef battle. The graphic is handmade drawn with a positive cute vibe, the story is simple but engaging offering an easygoing experience for when you want to relax a little bit.

The game is like a combination of a puzzle game,beat'em up, and story driven game. It's like Iron Chef meets anime!

This game came out of nowhere, but wow is it great. Gorgeous art style, easy to pick up gameplay for quick sessions, and a nice and lengthy campaign. The gameplay makes this so fun as it mixes combat and match 3 gameplay in a race against time to cook creative dishes to please the tastes of the judges tasting your food. There are plenty of game modes to keep you occupied. Don't hesitate to pick this game up, it is great!

So much love went into this game and the concept is unique. The gameplay is a match 3 type with gimmick after gimmick that all work together to keep the game fresh. Not to mention the hunting aspect of the game. Its hand animated giving it a flair of its own.

This game took me by surprise. I heard about the premise and looked up reviews but really it cannot express how original and fun this game is. Collecting and fighting for ingredients and then cooking them iron chef style is awesome. And the story is a gem as well. Hunt this down if you can.

Bought this on sale solely based on “judging a book by its cover”. The art style popped out and looks good. With it being on sale I figured it was worth a try. Have not completed it but enjoying what I have played so far with the combat and puzzle challenges.

This is a fun mash-up of puzzle action and rpg games. It is super cool and is a limited run game so definitely pick it up if you are even remotely interested because very few copies were made. Get it now!

Fun mixture of match three puzzling for making recipes matched with fun and engaging 2D battle system for collecting ingredients. Pretty good story, as well. Can't say it enough: it's a ton of fun!

Gorgeous art design and fun gameplay. Studio Ghibli art style meets side scrolling action. Don’t forget the match 2/3 in your pot cooking game.

The concept seems weird but its a lot of fun. Good blend of action and puzzle challenges and timed challenges. Great looking art helps and this is worth picking up for switch.

I ended up returning it as the physical instruction manual and case were slightly damaged. The manual was bent right down the middle across all the pages, and case had a rectangular shaped indentation on the back, bottom-right corner, like someone pulled a sticker too hard. It was odd, since Best Buy stated it was a new game, but after they looked at it, I was able to return it and order a new one (and had to pay additional shipping for the replacement copy). I didn't play the game, but I'll post the review for that once I get the replacement.

What a wonderfully unique game. Part side scrolling brawler, part match three cooking, part visual novel is wonderful and has beautiful art.

I bought this strictly because the demo was fun to play and even thought I have not opened this up yet I would tell anyone who is looking to get this to try out the demo and then buy it. The game is a mixture of making food and hunting monsters for cuts of meat so if that is something you wouldn’t mind doing to pass the time then this is your cup of tea.

I initially bought this game when I was collecting some more LRG titles- and once I put this game in, I'm hooked. It's a ton of fun- and I'm quite glad I picked this one up when I had the chance to. A game like this feels extremely good on the Nintendo Switch (Controls, interface, gameplay) - and I strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to add an extra fun title to their library of games. LRG always knocks it out of the park as well when it comes to artwork, and booklets inside of the case- it's a nice little extra touch to the game itself.

The animation is really good and the gameplay is fun, it is a mix of a side-scroller - item farming and puzzle game, so it has been really good so far!

I purchased this game on the Switch because I thought it would be more fun to play as a grab and go style experience. I also didn't expect there to be frame rate drops or other performance issues because it's a hand drawn, 2D indie game. But there are; certain battle areas have frame rate issues, and I haven't figured out exactly what it is that triggers the drops - if it's a specific animation or just the size of the battlefield, or what. The game itself is still really enjoyable, I'm just saddened to see that it's not a more optimized game.

This game is really fun. Thanks to Limited Run Games for making a physical copy of the game. It blends match 3 puzzle game with side scrolling beat em ups and throws in a pinch of RPG. Ypur goal is to become the best battle chef around by gatering you ingredients and cooking them up to please the judges pallet all within the allotted time. Cooking is easy but becoming a master battle chef will be challenging.

When I picked up this game, I was unsure if I would like it. I’m actually glad I picked it up. It’s a puzzle game that has a little bit of action. It makes you think about the things you need and how to combine them in order to make what you need work. It has a pretty good story line as well.

It has a balance of matching game and side scroller. The story is light hearted and sweet.
