Had this game for a few months. No complaints. Even got it for $40 brand new instead of $60 thanks to Best Buy deals. Amazing graphics/audio with an HDMI cable. Online multiplayer is epic and free after you type in your online access code you get inside your game case. Also you can follow your stats and friend's online at http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/. Very challenging and realistic battles in multiplayer and campaign as well. But, storyline was a little shorter than I wanted. Over all a good buy, worth every penny.

Battlefield 3.. Game of the Year!

The Evolution of game play has been shown with this EA series.. Battlefield 3 - The game play is as realistic as it gets on a PS3 thus far, no other FPS comes close, simply compare graphics, warfare realism, & the game engine blows the competition out of the water, like a live grenade ;) & Battlefield 3 has an explosive environment, & multiple vehicles to choose from. ANY REVIEWS THAT ARE LISTED LOWER THEN A 4 STAR SHOULD BE IGNORED. The game speaks for itself, look at the screenshots, watch the trailer, don't even rent this game, are you serious? This is a PS3 Title you can not live without, if your a FPS Gamer. I was playing Black Ops prior to the release of BF3 and MW3.. I waited for MW3 like many others, just to be surprised and unfortunately left wondering to myself, why did I just pay sixty dollars for what appears to, put simply: DLC (Downloadable Content) Modern Warfare 3's game play hasn't changed, the graphics didn't improve, the game engine itself was also the same. I bought Battlefield 3 and wow, It's honestly no comparison. Everything you do in BF3 is better, game play, graphics, engine, warfare all around makes MW3 look like it came out 8 years ago. So, if your deciding on which to buy, take my advice, you won't be disappointed! 5 STAR GAME!!! BATTLEFIELD 3 = BEST WARFARE GAME ON PLAYSTATION 3

    Amazing Game!!!

This is by far the best fps game to date...usually the people who don't like this game don't care about the realism aspect, they care more about kill streak bonuses and garbage like that. Or they find the game too busy because of all the vehicles that you can use...I find those to be some of the great characteristics of the game, along with destructible environments. I personally am done with the COD series...Battlefield nailed it. The only issue I have is the bug of playing with your friends on your squad when joining a game still has some issues.

Won most awards for best fps game for this year. Beating out COD MW3. Graphics and game play is amazing. Will blow your mind. Machine guns, explosive, tanks, jets you name it. This game has. Destructible environment. No FPS game comes close. I also purchased MW3 and I was so disappointed. The only thing new about MW3 is the maps. Other than that. It's just MW2. Graphics is really bad for MW3. THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE!!

    Amazing FPS

FPS games are really the only games I play on my PS3, and this is by far the best game I've played to date. BF3 was my first in the Battlefeild series, and it by far exceeded all my expectations. Call of Duty was really my only comparison and I was blown away. As far as games go in general, BF3 is by far the better game. Now whether or not you enjoy the gameplay style of BF3 or CoD is your opinion. The first thing that stuck out to me was the shooting/aiming mechanics. The player must take into account the time for bullets to get to the target as well as gravity. It makes it much more fun for me, especially sniping, to have to take that into account rather than just point-and-shoot. This game is also much more team-oriented than other fps games I've played. The lack of killstreaks and such give no reward for stayling alive for extended periods of time so other players are more liekly to put their neck on the line to help the team with health and ammo drops, etc. Driving vehicles is also extremely fun, flying jets and helicopters is liek nothing I've ever done in a shooter. The system of classes and unlocks is also great in my opinion, which forces you, for example, to use the recon class to unlock more snipers, and use specific guns to unlock attachments for that gun. As far as visuals go, Battlefeild 3 is the best looking FPS ever made for console, hands down. The audio is brilliant. Guns sound very realistic. Overall, my favorite FPS I've ever owned.

    Best of the Series

First off, Battlefield is NOT like Call of Duty. So they should not be compared by any means... Anyways, Battlefield 3 is by far the best Battlefield game ever made. The campaign is very boring, but that's not why I bought the game. I bought it for the multiplayer. The multiplayer gets a 10/10 by far. The maps are huge, the classic games modes are there, and there are tons of weapon and loadout customizations. If you like Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1943, or any of the Bad Company series, then you will love Battlefield 3.

This is the best game ever. Love it. MW3 is terrible compared to the sheer epicness of Battlefield . A must get for any gamer. Greta graphics sound and phenominal multiplayer. Only issue is the campaign loading lock up

    Better than Call of Duty

They didn't lie in the advertisement: Battlefield 3 is more life like than Call of Duty. And an all around better game. That said it's also tougher to kill people and get good at the game. The levels are huge, you can go inside multi-level buildings. When a tank shoots a wall the wall explodes and disappears. You can drive tanks, humvees, fly helicopters and jets. There are a ton of weapons kit options, from anti-tank mines to C-4 or weapon upgrades and Rpgs. It's the best multiplayer shooter out there, Hands Down.

    Amazing multiplayer game

The bad: - Single player - Operation Metro - Davand Peak (but only on conquest) The good: - Nearly everything else This game has the best graphics out of any game out there, including the Crysis series. It is amazing what DICE was able to do with it. But hey, graphics don't make great games so for me to review this game so high, you know it is great. Go look at the Metacritic on it. Some guy reviewed it a C just so he could be different than everyone else (he had some stupid reasoning behind it). Everyone else gave it A's. And yeah, I am going to compare it to Call of Duty. I have played BF2, BF:BC2 as well as CoD2, CoD4, CoDMW2, CoDBlOps and CoDMW3. The Call of Duty franchise is going down hill very badly. It peaked for most at CoD4 (MW2 for me). I can't justify playing MW3 - even though I bought it at launch for full price - when BF3 is this good. And no, I am not a fanboy. I played MW2 alone for more hours than BF2 and BFBC2 combined. The map design is better on BF3, as well as the game play, graphics, sound design, DLC weapon selection and pretty much all else. The only thing I can really say for sure that MW3 has better than BF3 is the single player. If you aren't going to play online, then don't bother with this game as it isn't worth it. Oh, and btw: with DLC for the Call of Duty franchise, you pay 15 bucks for 5 maps. That's it. 5 maps. AND you have to wait a month after they come out on the XBOX. With the Battlefield franchise, you pay 15 bucks for 4-5 much larger maps, new weapons, new vehicles, new audio and on the PS3, you get them all a week early. Also note that there is a pretty steep learning curve associated with the teamwork based gameplay, vehicle operation (notably any thing that flys), and pretty much all the guns but especially sniper rifles because of the bullet drop.

This by far, is the one and only came that I have no disappointments about. It is the game of the year, and the next generation of gaming. Graphics are amazing, sound guns. I actually feel like im a solider in the war zone. Battlefield 3 is the one game that truly lives up to what the specs and commercials and everything, it is truly a real virtual first-person shooter.

If you have to pick one pick Battlefield more for realistic warfare with tanks, planes, etc. You can even blow up buildings! If you want pure run and gun go for MW3. The graphics on this game make black ops feel like I am playing a ps2 game. Its far more realistic and makes you feel like your in an actual war zone!

I've been a COD player since MW2 and I haven't found any other shooter better than COD till now. Sure the graphics are only 720p but they really get the most out of it. It's a very realistic game which I like more than MW3 which seems more cartoonish/arcade style this year. I actually am disappointed with MW3 more this year than Black Ops since it went head to head with Battlefield and Battlefield was far superior (I also paid more for the hardened edition which I regret now). If you have to pick one pick Battlefield more for realistic warfare with tanks, planes, etc. IF you want pure run and gun go for MW3.

Battlefield surpasses CoD in the multiplayer arena. Though both are moving towards the same game, BF3 encourages team work and running different roles. Vehicles, massive maps, and tons of weapons make for a varied game play.

what's up with the swagger when you spin left or right? your weapon is way behind your sight for a second and makes quick aiming and accurate shooting suck. maybe i'm not upgrading my weapons correctly but i can fire a whole magazine and apparently not hitting target just to have them stop, wave to me, have a coffee while they watch me reload, then kill me with 3 bullets! so much fun if i die 10 times, 9 of those times i would be firing first just to be pathetically killed quick and too easy by enemy. game sucks. the first thing that comes to mind is black ops when it takes 20 rounds to kill people. other than that, this game is amazing!

Great maps, excellent multiplayer play. Was dispointed in co-op, since you cant play 2-player c-op without being online. Storyline is kinda cheesy, but graphics are AWSOME.

The size of the maps are amazing and using vehicles are fun. The gunplay isn't up to par with games like call of duty. Also, the upgrade system for the weapons could be better. Still a fun shooter to play online.

FYI: Before you whine that this game is hard and boring, you play it different from COD. Remember that Now on to the review the game is fun, and easy to learn if you are willing to help others, and recieve help in a kind way instead of (**** u peice of ****, this doesn't ******* work).Be more like this( Thank you for the tip.) and you will get better and have more fun. Battlefield is know for its big maps and vehicle combat so if you think this is the game for you, get it. Most of the commnity is nice, and will gladly help someone out(most of the time) to get a better challenge in the future.

    Too much hype

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I played the beta version and said I wouldn't buy the game. I changed my mind since I thought gameplay would be fixed. Well, it wasn't. There is severe kill lag, where you can kill a guy but he keeps going and will eventually die (it gives you full kill, so it isn't like someone else shots them after). This can lead you to follow to kill the guy, and get you killed. Note that kill lag happens to you too. Say you get shot, so you hide to recover, but this can be too late and you just die. Then there is times when people fly through the air after being shot (shot a guy with my 1911, and he flew like 20ft backwards). Camping and spawn camping is at the worst and I find spawning on someone stupid. You die, you should start from main spawn point. Maps are pretty bland, feel claustrophobic compared to BF2, and once again limited amount of maps. It isn't all bad, as gun fire is fairly realistic but at times unrealistic. Sounds are pretty good. Graphics are fairly good. Overall, the gameplay just kills this game unless you love to camp and find a great spot to do so. BF2 plays better. Just one more week so I can review MW3 and see if the COD franchise lives up to their hype since BF failed on their hype. And no, I am not comparing BF to COD. Just to say, Black Ops was overall pretty bad though it did have a couple improvements. I am unbiased and just want the best playing game to keep to play with friends.

This game is very different compared to mw3, but i think it is better. Overall a much more realistic style of play, with actual recoil and much better graphics. My only critisism is that the game is a little slow, it's sometimes hard to find enemies. a way to fix this would be to let more players join each party. Other than that, this game is really fun and i recommend it.
