I’ve logged like 72 hours into this game, most of it online. Great online matches that make the war feel alive and chaotic, especially with a Dolby Atmos sound system. The community is pretty big and nice variety of maps with 64 players. The campaign was enjoyable too with varied stories and characters of lesser known WW2 campaigns, wish they would’ve kept it in Battlefield 2042.

I understand that gamers are starting to spilt into two groups those that like campaigns and those that love the on line play! For those that like Campaigns you will like this game. I got it just because of that campaigns. As for Call of Duty I passed on their last game and it was because of the fact it does not have a Campaign! I was disappointed but in the end it was their choices to go the way that they did! I am sure that those that like on line play are happy. All I have to say is I am glad for them and wish the Call of Duty all the best. I hope that some time in the future they will build some games again with good long campaigns in them! I will then be more than willing to give them another try! I do not mean to single out Call of Duty because I now look to see if any other games are following the Call of Duty example. If they are I do not buy them. There are some out there and I passed on them. Even if they did look interesting! In the end it comes down to what one likes and I hope that neither groups attack each other and that the gaming companies are smart enough to support both groups!
Now getting back to this Battlefield V all I can say is that you will like this game. Graphic are great and game play is vary good but is a little different from the way Call of Duty played in the last game before this last on line game. Just a matter of getting used to it. I really like this game and hope and believe you will also. In the end I would also add a thank you to those that make Battlefield V for keeping the Campaign in their games!

This is a pretty good game. Played through the campaign and a little multiplayer. Didn’t like it as much as I liked Black Ops 4 as I enjoyed that one much more. Got this game when it was on sale for $29 plus gamers club 20% off so I ended up paying $23

Rough at first, very good now, and great soon...

The game launched in a pretty rough state which seems to be the trend with AAA titles nowadays, sadly, but to their credit, DICE has done a good job in responding to community feedback about issues and tweaking/fixing things accordingly so my overall opinion of the game has gone from good to very good, and I expect it to be great soon with how things have been going. The Pros: The core gameplay is better than it's ever been, graphics and sound are great as expected from this franchise, and performance is, in my experience, a rock solid 60 FPS with very few exceptions. Weapon variety's good and customization options, while not as deep or varied as BF1's, are still cool enough that it has me constantly grinding away at challenges to unlock the next item. The Cons: The UI is crazy buggy, graphical/gameplay glitches occur frequently enough to bear mentioning here, and infinite loading/black screens are still a problem (though all of these things have improved greatly since launch). The Mehs: The number of maps, the campaign (once again feels like a different game in that it doesn't follow the same internal logic as the multiplayer), the inability to have more than one loadout per class (you could have 3 in BF1), and the co-op Combined Arms mode (glorified tutorial scenarios that should've been in the game at launch given how they play). The aforementioned Pros, and the hours of sheer fun I've had with friends in multiplayer as a result so far (86 hours), though, make most of the game's issues easy for me to forgive (or at least look past), and as such, I honestly don't have a problem recommending this game at full price, but at the $29.99 price point it's been hitting pretty frequently, I'd say it's definitely a steal (and this is coming from someone who truly despises EA). NOTE: I PLAY ON THE XBOX ONE X SO I CANNOT SPEAK FOR THE BASE CONSOLE EXPERIENCE IN TERMS OF VISUAL QUALITY OR PERFORMANCE.

Great mechanics, poor execution

Where to begin with this game? I absolutely enjoy the mechanics of this game, whether it's the gunplay, character movement, or types of combat, but the game is just bare-bones. It really should have been released 6 months later than it was. It plays like an early access game, even now, almost 4 months later. There aren't enough maps, they cut out some game modes and modified others that didn't need to be.
I will give DICE credit for reaching out to the community and showing their passion about wanting to make the game more viable, but either EA isn't providing them with enough resources or they're incompetent in finishing content. There simply isn't enough to do. As I said, I love the way the game plays, but it becomes too repetitive with so little content being in the game. Even with the inclusion of Firestorm, Battlefield's version of a Battle Royale game type (which I have no interest in), the game is still short on content.
All that negativity being said, I have faith that eventually the game will be quite good, much in the same vein as Destiny.

If you pass the hysteria and controversy about the original trailer and the game's cover image -basically if you actually play the game- you will quickly realize this is a superbly fun and badass multiplayer shooter game (haven't played the campaign). Seriously, in terms of gunplay and destruction, it's certainly one of the best in the series. The changes in attrition, spotting mechanisms, and squad gameplay make it a more hardcore, cohesive, and tactical shooter. It does have some bugs and the game should have been released with the Battle Royale game mode.

Story mode in this game is the most fun. It does ignore a lot of the major WWII battles like Normandy and has basically no air battles. It’s a fun game but they could’ve done way more with it.

I have put many hours in this game it's so real. I love the realisation of this game you can even hear someone coming up behind you. With good headphone a mic you can play with your friends or even someone you never met. You can fly a plan an drive a tank with your friends firing guns or even get out and fix the tank. You can repair defences or bring someone back to full health. I love this game. By the way I am 63 years old. Have fun see you there. Look me up Lundee24.

The big battles (Conquest mode online) are just gigantic with so much going on. More gritty than a COD game and relies more on just straight skill. The online is most fun if you play with friends- I'm not even sure if I'd be as interested in online play without friends (until Battle Royale comes out). I haven't played any campaign but I'm sure that's amazing as well. Graphics are beautiful and great on a QLED TV + Xbox OneX

Like several others have pointed out, I am also happy with the Campaign option. I'm on the road and rarely have the kind of streaming needed for online play. Even if I did, I prefer campaign mode, and was so disappointed with the new Call of Duty game which is online only. The Battlefield games have always been among my favorites (Bad Company was THE favorite). I love the realism and incredible graphics. Happy with this purchase!

Although I’m not a huge fan of the massive Battlefield games, EA and DICE got it right for this game. It truly meets all the gaming needs of any WW2 fan. The variety of game modes online make this very appealing. As it reaches out to the massive map 32 v 32 we’re all familiar with, but then hits on close quarter battle in frontlines and the new and improved 3 day Operations mode. Add crisp, beautiful 4K graphics-some is the best I’ve seen from my stamdard xbox one and wonderfuly done 1st player War Stories aka campaign mode and you’ll be entertained for weeks to come. One last word for the online fan. This IS NOT a lone wolf, run and gun game. It is a squad based game that requires patience as you will die early and often if you’re going Rambo. Even if your tactical, you’ll still die often, just be patient and upgrade your weapony and map knowledge, get several of your buddies to squad up and then go dominate! Cheers to all around Great game!

Yes, this is really just the same game repeated. They all really are. Different story lines or time periods but it’s really just the same thing. With that being said, the new time periods give it a fresh new spin so at least you’ll have a different experience. The Battlefield games have always been a favorite in our house. This game is a lot of fun and we will keep buying them as long as they produce them.

The single player part is a little thin, but the multiplayer is the more important part. The graphics is unparalleled and it's best to play it with XBox One X for 4K HDR. The major issue is the bugs and balance, which I assume will get better as days go on, just like the old Battlefield games.

This is a really good installment to the Battlefield series. It is very fun with a good variety of game modes including Single Player and Battle Royale (Coming Soon).
There are not too many short comings but, I will name a few that I've noticed. 1. Loading into games is buggy. Sometimes (almost every time I play, at lest once) you will get stuck on a loading screen and have to ultimately close the game and launch it again. Which has another negative affect... Being that the game gets full so you have to wait for someone to leave so you can join your friends again or they have to leave resulting in a loss on their record.
2. My biggest game play issue, which is more of an issue with other players, is being a medic. I like to run the medic class but, it is very annoying when players don't pay attention to the HUD and see how many medics are close by and that they are coming to get them by looking at the distance meter closing in. I end up wasting a smoke grenade and getting shot at for no reason at least 3 times a game lol.
This game is very enjoyable in the end, especially with a couple of friends and a team that cares about the objectives. If you set out to get the most kills it may work for you but, I find I get more kills when I'm playing the objectives.
