One of the best films about WW11. Still a classic. Looks great in blue ray. Best Buy matched Amazon’s price. I couldn’t ask for more.

"Battleground" as a film, itself, is a solid work of acting, writing and directing. If you hate older Black and White films; then you're missing out for no real purpose, at all. Love Black and White titles from the 1940's and haven't seen this war gem, yet? Then you're in for a treat. It's both a comedy and a drama; with neither overdone. But the initial purchasing point for me was that this film took home the Oscar for Best Cinematography (Black and White); and Warner Archive Collection has given us a more than perfect visual. If this film wasn't fully restored, then I'll eat my hat. Not to be missed.

This is a good early World War II movie, could be the first movie with the obligatory Southerner in the platoon. A lot of stars who weave a good story about Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. That's for sure, that's for dang sure!!!

Wonderful war adaptation of WWll ground troop life under battle conditions for a movie made in 1949. Excellent acting especially by James Whitmore. Enjoyed the look back into history very much.

I saw this movie as a kid on late night TV and loved it, Had it on VHS and DVD and now Blu-ray and it only got better. The clarity is excellent.. It is in B&W but the pictue is extremely sharp.

Enjoyed the real feel for what war was like. Not all guns, gore & glory. Lot of waiting, nothing to do, mixed with moments of pure panic.
