They need to leave things alone and stop trying to make remakes that suck

The film is good but not quite up to the standards of the series.

Too Much CGI - Most Characters are Unlikeable

The Battlestar Galactica series that ran on the SyFy channel from 2003 - 2009 was much better. This particular BSG has entirely too much CGI and not enough likeable characters.

You see all the good moments in the trailer. Not enough action and very predictable. Will not watch it again

    Battlestar Gallactica the Prequel

For the Battlestar Gallactica Fans. We see Adama as a young recruit joining the fight against the Cylons. In addition, we get to see the Human's battleship armada in their prime during the Cylon Wars. It's a shame, the movie never got the green light for a series. This series had potential to add undiscovered and rich lore to a great franchise. The sound and picture were crystal clear on blu ray. The only reason, I'm giving it a 4 star is because the movie felt too short.

Great Companion to the BSG series!

William Adama (Commander/Admiral in the Syfy-produced "newer" series) and provides some background on the evolution of the Cylon menace. CGI effects can be a bit much at times; however, most scenes are shot/animated well. See if you can pick out Tricia Helfer's voice (Number Six from BSG) to help build that connection to BSG!

A tiny taste of Ron Moore's BSG

Take all of the great visual effects from the entire 4 seasons of BSG, and throw it into a 94 minute movie. They're different and great effects from the people who brought us Battlestar Galactica though. The plot is thin, with no character development. There's not a still shot in the movie. It's all shaky cam, way beyond what was in BSG. The camera won't even stay still long enough to focus on what the characters look like. After an hour, I had to take a break to rest my eyes. It was shot in Vancouver, so there's a number of familiar SciFi acting faces from BSG, Stargate, Defying Gravity, etc. If you want a taste of Ron Moore's BSG, to satisfy your BSG withdrawal, this doesn't help much. Better to rewatch "Razor." And if you were hoping for Tricia Helfer, well ... If you're a BSG fan and watch this, you'll know. I would have enjoyed this if the camera work didn't make me nauseous ... and I'm a camera operator.

    A Blast in Uninterrupted Form

I was able to watch this when it was online for free, but it is great to see it uncut. I can't compare it to whatever it looked like on cable. Story was pretty good, great continuity for a prequel series. Too bad it doesn't look to be coming as a series. (Maybe someday there will be another BSG series now that SyFy is back to actually doing some Scifi)

This works really well as a DVD/BluRay. After watching it online in segments, it's nice to see it all in one piece. Plus I really enjoyed Luke Pasqualino as Adama. Glad to see him starring in The Musketeers on BBC America. Too bad they didn't make this into a series. If you loved BSG, you'll really enjoy this!

I love all scifi and this is a good Battlestar movie. I wish it had more space battles and less story. Worth the time to watch, especially if you like sci-fi or Battlestar Galactica.

Interesting timeline and plot as part of the BSG universe. Would like to see the creators explore more of the time period the story takes place in.
