Brings back the old Sunday nights when Battlestar was on TV. The whole series and extras makes it well worth it!!!

Price was right and was able to see episodes that I have missed when it came out on t.v.

I was hoping they would have remastered the show for a cleaner picture. Overall not bad and I don't regret the purchase.

The first seasons are good until they change characters and finally get to earth. Then it is not interesting any more.

I am rating this purchase poor because it was sent from the warehouse badly damaged and missing 5 disks.

This is the same standard-definition transfers first released in October, 2003. But, yes, I bought this repackage. Why? Because the original release was on double-sided discs which are more difficult to keep in mint condition. Also, the original disc holders are brittle clear plastic prone to breaking. Once the center button breaks, your disc is free to roam the confines of the fold-out box. Another thing is that the clear plastic disc holders could tend to crack the spindle hole of the discs, causing them to warp ever so slightly and, therefore, not play. Some sets had discs with manufacturing problems, as well. So, with this set, I'll still keep the original release but these are the ones I'll watch from now on. The original series, as well as the sequel series, Galactica 1980, have been remastered in HD and released on Blu-ray Disc, however, it's exclusive to Universal's German distributor. No one's sure how long the exclusivity agreement lasts, but it's available under the title Kampfstern Galactica.

Looks beautiful and sounds amazing!! Tons of special features. The original is still the best and looks awesome. Still waiting and hoping for bluray edition but until then , this is well worth it !!
