A Fine Start To A Series That is Soft Rebooting

The first season of Batwoman was a pretty good start to show that is basically being soft rebooted next season with a new lead.I really loved the dynamic between Batwoman/Kate and Alice and their father.A lot this will be different next season due to Ruby Rose's exit and a new character as Batwoman.Love the supporting characters especially Mary & Luke and i'm glad they'll be sticking around. The show lost a few episodes due to the CO-VID 19 pandemic forcing the production to shut down early but I think the ended the season in a satisfying way given the circumstances.Again, the loss of the shows lead will impact how they start season 2 from this place.I wish there were a few more special features. There was supposed to be a gag reel but it got pulled from the release. As with all the Arroverse blu -rays for the 2o19-2020 season, the Crisis crossover has its own disk included in the set which is a nice touch.

The best CW/DC TV season to get the Crossover disc

I am a big DC fan and love the expanding CW TV series. This is one of my favorites and a must have since the lead actress left to do movies but this season was so complete as is. The writing, acting, special effects and action are great, but the dark backstory of the lead characters really makes this season so special. The best part is that right now in the 1st pressing, you get a bonus Blu-ray of 2020's Crossover Event Crisis on Infinite Earths. All 5 episodes and a great selection of special features. As much as I like Batwoman I really bought it for this disc.

    Batwoman :The Ruby Rose Season

Ruby Rose portrays Kate Kane/Batwoman in Season one and the first part of this excellent series focuses on her origin and then goes into an adventure of Kate dealing with her psycho twin sister "Alice." The writers keep the us on the edge of our seat, never once getting predictable.Ruby Rose does a fine job as the crime fighter cousin of the missing Batman. Sadly,Ruby Roe quit this Batwoman tv series ,leaving us with an interesting cliffhanger.Whoever takes on the Batwoman mantle next season will have a tough act to follow.

Now after the last Crossover between the changes of Arrow and The Flash switching identities/switching places also having the introduction of Ruby Rose aka: Kate Kane/Batwoman the brand new Protector of Gotham City since Batman aka: Bruce Wayne left it for unknown reasons now it’s Her turn and We all definitely need Her to stay! I love this Series so buy it, get it, own it and purchase it!!

Bought this on sale but always watched it on SW. Good start for first season of show. I am not a fan of Ruby Rose as far as her acting skills she did a great job portraying Batwoman though she will not be returning for Season 2. Her character was included in Arrowverse

This first and, apparently only, season of Batwoman featuring Ruby Rose, is a winner. It is a very accurate TV version of the character as seen in DC Comics. Added bonus: The release also included a bonus disc with all five episodes of the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event, featuring episodes of the television series Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.

Here is the thing with the CW's Batwoman...they took it on and then realized couldn't deliver on it. I loved the first half and was excited, Batwoman is one of my all time fave DC characters...and when I first heard Ruby Rose was casted I wasn't too excited. But she did a great job, it worked...the plot works ect. I was invested, but then obviously Ruby had to exit the role...thus leaving us with Kate's character on standby. Instead of recasting Kate....they gave us a whole another character to be Batwoman? UM WHY?? We barely got to see Kate as it is....so S1 as it is...if you're a Kate Kane fan? Pick it up and just see it as a stand alone. Iove the CW shows but their idea of giving us another Batwoman was a mistake and it shows...no one watches it. I'd scoop this up on Sale if you can.

    A Struggle to Watch

I grabbed this upon reading a number of good reviews and since it was on sale for $10. I also love superhero movies and TV shows, the Batman universe, and count the Christopher Nolan films among my favorite movies of all time. I just couldn't get into Batwoman the way I liked other shows like Gotham. It's not that it's bad, I just think it's trying to be something it's not. I was pulled in by Kate Kane's (our hero/anti-hero) backstory and saw great potential with the material. Gotham, in my opinion, did this very well, and was clever in the was we found things out about the characters. Not so here. However, just as I struggled to get through the episodes (and I did watch the entire season, plus cross-over disc), the actors seemed to be doing the same. I also found myself aware of what felt like cheap production values. Her suit has a cool design to it, but things seemed to stop there. She rides an unimpressive batcycle. It's clear we're in Chicago, not Gotham. There's no real sense of danger or a city in decay, fighting for it's soul. The Bat cave was down-sized to a studio apartment, compared to what they spent on the Crows headquarters. And the Bat-logo becoming a spinning object/weapon was just plain annoying. I like Ruby Rose (I haven't seen her in enough movies to truly judge her acting), but she seems to struggle with the material she's been given. The acting and dialogue seems forced. Maybe that's why she's not returning for season two. By comparison, I also purchased Titans season one. I was immediately pulled in just at the first episode. It is darker and more graphicly violent, but that's not what grabbed me. The characters are more complex, the story more compelling. There's more of a feel of realism to it (yes, even though we're talking comic book series). Now three episodes in, I can't wait to watch the rest of the season. Gotham was similar too. With Batwomen, it started to get somewhat better towards the end of the season, but still left me with a feeling of having struggled to stay with the show and not really caring if there was a second season or not. Even more so know their main actor was not returning. I will say that the blu ray does have a great picture with sharp details and decent sound for a TV show. For the Batwomen super-fans, go for it, especially at a discounted price. For everyone else, proceed with caution down these streets of Gotham.

Excellent series to add to my DC collection. Ruby Rose is amazing in the roll of Bat Woman and I was sad to hear she wouldn’t be continuing in the second season. However, the first season is great and if you’re a DC fan I highly recommend adding this series to your collection.

    It's Fine

I mainly just bought this because it's a Batfamily show. The show itself is interesting enough, but it just doesn't feel well executed. Some of that is the writing. Some of it is the casting. Some of it is the acting. It's a well shot show at least. The set is light on bonus features, but initial printings come with a bonus disc featuring all five parts of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, so that's cool. The episodes look better than I normally expect of these DC shows. I think that's largely due to the fact that the season was cut short, so they spread fewer episodes across the usual number of discs these shows use. It's basically fine. The bonus discs (for as long as it's available) is the real purchase.

Loved watching the series on TV and wanted the bluray set for my collection and the bonus disk of the Crisis crossover. Alice proved to be the breakout character and continues to intrigue me in season 2 this year. Great price for a great first season. Missing Kate this year.

Took a little bit to get into this series but finished pretty strong even with COVID. Surprised by the upcoming main characters departure so it will be interesting to see if this is almost a one season series unto itself.

Batwoman turned out to be really good for the first season. I wasn't disappointed. I got hooked on it on the 1st episode. I'm not sure how season 2 will be with someone else playing batwoman but I'll end up get that to.

I am glad i got Batwoman in my CW superhero collection. It has a different tone for a dark vigilante i like this for tv show. I will watch the second season even thought we won't have our main actress no more sadly.

Since this will likely be the only season of Batwoman to include Kate Kayne, it was worth picking up during the Online Black Friday sale this past year. If you like the Batwoman character, I highly recommend picking this up.
