Definitely a cool toy and love the way it moves and reacts. A bit pricey for what it does, and it's probably a toy your kids will play with for a while and set aside. But I like that they keep doing follow up revisions to the app that make it more responsive, so good job, Sphero!

Takes time to get used too. The sounds only out of phone. Other than that a great gadget. Fun to play with!

A bit smaller than expected and need blue tooth enabled device to use as remote. Well built.

The Sphero BB-8 does a stellar job of imitating its on-screen inspiration. Featuring a wealth of vocal commands and intuitive controls, the BB-8 is an ideal choice for Star Wars fans of all ages or if you are into coding. I bought this for $30 during the Black Friday sales and for that price this is worth it. The thing is well built but not as intelligent as it claims to be. However, downloading the Sphero edu app can help you code and program it do some fun things for some extra play time. Also worth noting this has no in built speaker and all sounds come out of the smartphone which is a bit disappointing. But overall if you can get it for $50 or less I strongly recommend it.

I like the droid with the exception that it didn't go on carpet very well. Very flat carpet at that.

Have the old R2D2 that is timeless. Now he has an updated friend. Even 95 year old Mema loves him.

This little robot is great fun to play with your kids. However it is fragile and care must be taken in operating it. Controlling it through the app for smartphone requires a practice time. On a flat floor, the BB8 picks up impressive speed. The loading base that accompanies the robot is great too to leave it on display as a piece of art on an office desk. This will please the fans of the series.

Being a Star Wars fanatic, I had to buy BB-8. He is fun to play around with and seeing the cat not quite comprehend what is going on is fun. Nice packaging and a solid product. Price is steep but Disney owes Lucas a lot of money, so I get it.
