    Timeless classic revisited

The music of the Beatles pretty much defines good music for this music connoisseur. The remastering does improve the sound quality, without tinkering with what you love about this music. The documentary videos are pretty weak, and I would have liked to see them put the Stereo and Mono mixes on these discs like they did with the Capitol releases, but then they couldn't try to sell you another box with just those for even more money! But since us fans have already bought the same music 4 times, this should, at least for now, be the quintessential version of the Beatles catalogue.

I bought this for my dad for his birthday who is a big Beatles fan. I didn't realize they had so much music and there were so many cds. It had literally every single cd they had made and all of their timeless music. I recommend getting this for any fan of the Beatles. You will NOT be disappointed at ALL!

Excellence. Everything is great. Not a fan of the overall packaging. Would have been nice if they designed the box set so you could display the Album artwork

    It sounds great to me!

I know that some people expected this to be totally remixed music, but it's all of the Beatles albums completely cleaned up. To me, it's like taking a movie, and putting it out in the blue-ray format. I've listened to their albums for years, and now I have them all in a very attractive boxed set. I don't understand the one star review. Not at all. It sounds fantastic to me. I can hear every little mistake (which is what makes some of the early recordings so fun), tamborine, keyboard, and soaring guitars! The "white album" sounds open and free; not muddled in the least. To me, the CDs sound "warm". So, I personally think it;s fantastic. I guess there's no pleasing everyone... but I'm very pleased!

    Great Set!!

This is a great set because you have all the music of the Beatles in one collection. This collection is reflective of how the music was outputed in the UK which is the true original. My husband says that in the USA the way the albums came out is slightly different from the UK including the album covers were slightly different in the USA. We both enjoy listening the music on a Saturday evening while making dinner or just relaxing at home.

    Beatles Stereo box set

After a lengthy wait, the boxed set arrived. 2 months was worth waiting for, I've heard it all before anyway. When the first Beatles CD's were released, they sounded flat and muted. The remastered CD's take care of that problem, the sound clarity is greatly improved. The packaging is much nicer, instead of cheap jewel cases, the CD's look like mini LP albums. I got the stereo boxed set, I couldn't see getting mono for authenticity, I wanted the sound as it was meant to be heard.

Packaging leaves Something to be desired

I picked up my Stereo box set on 5 October. The first CD I decided to listen to, Beatles For Sale, had semi-dried glue blotches on the outer edge of the CD. I then opened Past Masters, and found those 2 CDs to be perfect. However, upon opening the rest of the CDs the following day, about half of them had glue blotches. I wiped them off with a smooth towel, but you can still see the residual marking on the CDs. I noticed in a post on another site's forum that rubbing acohol can clean them, so I might try that. Regardless, the CDs all sound fine. I did notice on the Magical Mystery Tour CD that it lists the Let It Be mini-documentary as the final track. So, in summary, I am disappointed in the packaging of this very expensive Box Set. Greater care should have been taken in the packing of the CDs, and, in looking over the final product.

Finally THe Beatles get the remastering that their music deserves. I've read several reviews by journalists that were lucky enough to be invited to hear some examples of the remastered material. All of the reviews have been very positive! One reviewer said it was like the difference hearing the original CD's in 1987 compared to the vinyl, that's how much better the new remasters sound compared to the 1987 CD's! Another reviewer said that the examples from The White album were just phenomenal, like a veil was lifted off of the music revealing details he never heard before.

The bass is incredible. There are some background sounds and instrumentation that you can hear but was never audible. The end of Strawberry Fields sounds very different. In Back in The USSR i knew you heard an airplane at the beginning but never knew it was suppose to be hear over and over again throughout the song. There are other little things like that on each album. I've just rediscovered the Beatles and you can too.

I have never owned a Beatles album. I've always liked their music, but just never got around to buying any of it. After receiving this set I am amazed at how diverse, creative, talented, and all together amazing ther Beatles were. The behind the scenes/making of videos included with each album are also interesting all though a touch short. All in all it is rather expensive, but in my opinion worth the cash.

IM SO GLAD I GOT THE STEREO VERSION OVER THE MONO CAUSE THE MONO DOES NOT SOUND AS GOOD AND IT DOES NOT CONTAIN YELLOW SUBMARINE AND THATS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS. THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS ACTUALLY EMI'S FAULT SINCE THESE ALBUMS ARE NOT IN ITUNES THERE IS NO ALBUM COVERS. IF YOU DONT BUY THIS BOX SET YOU STINK... LOL

    Beatles=Outstanding

This is the best compendium on the Beatles yet. The albums are all there--the excellent, good, the bad, and the not-so-bad. This was a gift for a 25-year-old Beatles fan, and she is "beyond the Universe" with it. There are songs that she had only heard about. She is very proud to have one, and she (and I) are telling all our friends to purchase it; it's seminal, after all!

digital beatles don't keep the beat

Digital reproduction brings out flaws that were masked before. Chorus and background music are enhanced and offer a welcome insight to the clever choreographed songs. A little too much enhancement takes away from the harmony element that previously was just a unique Beatles sound. Flat tones on many notes are evident and it takes away from the original tracks I have copies of on earlier cd release. Recommend enhancing bass and reducing treble to maintain a more traditional appreciation.

I have all the Betles albums in CD but this tops them all. I love that they are the way they where releastd in the UK and with the original lables on them. Great liner note also and the extra DVD just rounded it all off. This is a must have for any true Beatles fan.
