Got this for my wife thinking it would be sufferable for me to watch, however pretty good. This is more the original story than the Disney version so if you like all thinks beauty and the beast grab this. If you only like all things Disney pass. Great price at Best Buy.

This ageless story was presented in a different, but an enjoyable dvd. The only negative comment is whenever I stopped the DVD, I had to start from the beginning to get to where I stopped watching it.

Excellent retelling of the true story from the book. It is not like the Disney movie so do not purchase if that is what you are seeking. It is a faithful adaptation of the story.

This year I made it a goal 4 me to watch all of The Beauty & The Beast Movies that were made....& this version stood out quite a bit as far as being a very good, unique one. Everything about it was a fresh approach to the original story & it has become one of my favorites! Thanks Bestbuys for having 'This version' at such a good price!

What a great movie. After watching this DVD my wife liked it so much she wanted to watch it again. What a good deal Best Buy had on this one. I'd recommend it to any one who likes this type of movie.

Saw a preview for this version of the film and had to see it. Watched the dubbed version which is distracting at first, but got used to it. The story is told beautifully and the sets, costumes, camera-work are great! No singing in this one, so children may not find it as appealing as the Disney version.

My daughter had watched this in french class and really enjoyed it. I admit the English voice over is not the best. I definitely recommend for French speakers or those who do nor mind subtitles

This was a reminder of the original fairytale but with a bit of a different. There are thugs, debts, betrayals, love, friendship, an old tale, a new tale, love, trust, respect.

Disney has released a live action version of their animated classic, but it can't compare to this French version, which puts a twist to the plot. Beautiful looking film.

Good movie. Great price. True to the original story, if you're looking for the Disney story look elsewhere. Recommended for fans of all things Beauty and the Beast.

The movie has a great twist on the beauty and the beast story. I enjoy movies with great visual affects and wonderful actors and this had both. This movie kept us intrigued from beginning to end. It will be watched over and over. Highly recommend this movie.

Definately different from the usual stories , it was not advertised much i bought it just to see how good it was not knowing anything about it and it turned out to be a wonderful movie that i have watched 3 times already...definately worth the money spent.

understanding that is based on the original French version, I have to say that it was just a little too long and not quite as 'fun' as the Disney versions.

Unique retelling of a tale as old as time. Visually stunning CGI effects and great acting. Though it took a few minutes to adjust to the English voice overs.

This story of the Beauty and the Beast is a different direction than the Disney/version's.But still a well made depiction of the world/known-production.

As long as you don't compare this to the Disney's version. You might enjoy this interpretation. I did.

Even though is a different version of the film we know, is well adapted, the actors are believable, the special effects are very good.

This is the drama (without singing) based on the original 'Beauty And The Beast' story. Be sure to watch it in the original French language with English sub-titles. The English dubbing loses a bit in translation.
