Looks like I'm in the minority for not liking this movie. Thot it was plodding and the characterizations for Henry II (whiny, wimpy, hated the cold, the sight of blood surprisingly considering all the wars he fought ludicrous) and a secret letch for Becket - played with ponderous solemnity by Richard Burton.
I might have liked this better if I hadn't seen The Lion in Winter which to me was the far superior movie.

I have always enjoyed this movie from the '60s. The Academy (that awards the Oscars) helped restore it and reproduce it on Blu-ray. Best Buy was happy to price-match this title with Amazon, otherwise I would have said it was too expensive.

This movie is incredible - the cast should have won all the Academy Awards.
