All Austen fans will love this. It's done very much in the Jane Austen style, but depicts the authors life, rather than her stories. I don't know how accurate it is (historically), but the story is so romantic, humorous, and poignant, it really doesn't matter if it's accurate or not. And the actors all did a superb job as well. Very well done all the way around.

This is a wonderful movie that every Jane Austen fan would enjoy. James McAvoy is superb as the character Tom Lefroy. Anne Hathaway did a good job playing Jane Austen as well. Overall, the movie was very well done. A must see!

Absolutely authentic to the era. Keen directors eye for decor and style of dress. Maggie Smith is as excellent as always. Girls will fall in love with actor McEvoy. My wife and daughter both cry when they watch it. It was so good they had to watch it 3 nights in a row. As a guy I watched it once. That was enough. I am now fully enriched with culture. Not my kind of movie but still very enjoyable. I recomend it to anyone who like movie of this era. If you loved "Sense and Sensibility" then this is the movie for you.

I was only able to catch about 30 minutes of this movie during a lunch break, but I'm buying it today! Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy are great together. James McAvoy makes it easy to see where Jane Austen got the charactor for Mr. Darcy. I'm not sure how much of the movie is fact, and how much liberty is taken with the script, but for a movie, I would definitely recommend it for a nice two hours.

This was one of the best movies i've ever seen. Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy are incredible in this. You couldn't come up with a better cast!

Julia Roberts is a fantastic actress. Love anything with her in it.
