Comfortable sheets, especially if you like satin

The Bedgear Dri-Tec moisture-wicking sheets are definitely a good pair of sheets. However, I think what prevents me from giving this review 5 stars instead of 4 is that my wife and I aren't really into satin-feel sheets; we're much more into flanel. We also tend to sleep with a comforter and two small dogs, so any claims that the sheets are moisture-wicking or keep things cool might work for those who sleep without the extras I've mentioned. Overall, they do rest comfortably and seem well-made. Bedgear has you go to their site to fill out warranty info to also see how to care for the sheets. However, only because of feel, we'll likely be transitioning back to our flanel-feeling sheets.

The Bedgear Dri-Tec Moisture-Wicking sheet set is a great addition to your sleeping routine. The material is very lightweight which allows for you to sleep comfortably all night long. The fitted sheet has great straps that help it stay in place even if you toss and turn a lot. Even the pillow cases have straps that keep your pillow from sliding out. The sheets are easy to clean (recommended cold water and warm dryer - not hot). The only negative to the sheets is they are easy to snag. Be careful if you have pets in your bed as they will easily snag the sheets. Other than that, these are wonderful silky sheets that help you get a great night’s rest.

Not long ago I was shopping for a new mattress. Since It had been nearly 10 years since I bought one, I had a lot to learn about all of the types there are, particularly for people like me that sleep hot (and my last mattress made that problem worse). There is a lot of technology in bedding today, and much of it is targeted toward people who sleep hot. Mattresses have cooling technology, mattress pads have cooling and moisture wicking, and even sheet will claim to do the same. I have always found my favorite sheets to be those that I could shift slightly and "find a cool spot", and they would actually feel cool to the touch. Regardless of how you sleep at night, there is a transfer of heat to the spot you are laying in bed, no matter how much of this technology you have under you. The warmer you sleep, the hotter that spot will feel when you wake up and move. So of course, these sheets are no different. When I would wake up, it would definitely be warm in the spot I was laying. However, the spot didn't feel quite as warm to me as I am used to. More importantly though, was that I definitely felt better, and I realized that it was because I wasn't sweating, or at least didn't feel like I was. I actually felt like these sheets were making a difference. The part that I missed was when I would move a bit from the spot I was laying. These sheets do not have that "cool to the touch" feeling that some of my other ones do. It wasn't that it didn't feel cooler, it just wasn't as a dramatic of a difference as I am used to. I believe this characteristic that many hot sleepers look for. It took a little getting used to in order to realize that the "cool spot" wasn't necessary. Fabrics can be designed this way, and is actually how Temperpedic mattresses work (although it's not a fabric, but same idea). However, if you are not waking up, possibly sweating, from being hot, I believe you will miss that characteristic a lot less. I certainly have noticed that with myself. And yes, if you are wondering, I first tried these sheets in what feels like summertime in the south (humid, mid-80's, etc). The one thing that i LOVE about these sheets, however, is the design of fitted sheet. Instead of just an elastic sewn into the fabric, these sheets actually have an elastic band that is about one inch in diameter. They are designed to hold the fitted sheet in place, and it WORKS! This is the first set of sheets I have ever had where I don't feel the fitted sheet wrinkling up under me during the night. This alone makes me highly recommend them! Time will continue to tell how these sheets work for me, but as a hot sleeper, I do recommend them. They are expensive compared to some sheet sets you can buy, depending on where you are looking, but I feel they are worth it if they really do make me more comfortably and help me to get better sleep!

I rarely rave about products, like sheets for example. And yet, here I am singing the praises of Bedgear’s sheets. We selected the Split-King version of these sheets. To explain: instead of owning a king mattress, we have two king-length twins. Push them together and they are the size of a king-sized bed. My wife and I did this because we also purchased two adjustable twin bedframes that allow us to lift or lower our heads and feet for the sake of comfort. This combination of mattress and bedframes lets us customize our individual needs without impacting each other. Our normal split-king sheets come with a regular sized pillowcase, one fitted bottom sheet, and one top-sheet sized for a twin-king bed. With the Bedgear Split-King sheets, their package comes with two fitted bottom sheets (one for each mattress), a king pillowcase for each bed, and one king-sized top sheet that covers both beds. We were concerned that Bedgear’s single king-sized top-sheet wouldn’t be sufficient to cover both of our beds. Having her own top-sheet meant that my wife’s bed adjustments (head or feet, up or down) would only affect her and wouldn’t pull the top-sheet from my side. The same applies to any bed adjustment that I might make. As it turned out, Bedgear’s one king-sized top-sheet works beautifully on our configuration. All the pieces in this set are made from a moisture-wicking fabric that feels like silk. It is so silky that it’ll slide off your hands when holding it. Unlike normal cotton sheets that allow for easy folding, these don’t exactly do that. Try folding some silky material and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. This is not a problem, just an observation. The stitching on the fitted mattress sheets is the best I’ve seen. Really top-notch. Unlike our older cotton bottom fitted sheets that barely fit over the four corners of the mattress and rarely grab the bottom of each of our mattresses, the Bedgear sheets extend much further under the corners and really hug the mattress. And with the sheets being stretchy, it is much easier to install them on the mattresses. The pillowcases are for king pillows, which we don’t have. Still, we used them with our regular-sized pillows and, yes, we had a good amount of excess pillowcase left over. The pillowcases have straps inside adjacent to the opening that hug a king pillow’s corners to prevent it from sliding out. Nice! If we had to find an issue with the Bedgear Split-King sheets is that they (Bedgear) could have selected a better finished stitch on the edge of the pillowcases and top-sheet. They chose a stitch you would normally see on less-quality products. In the end, my wife and I thought these were some of the nicest sheets we’ve ever slept on. As such, I’m giving it a 5-star rating.

The elastic band on the fitted sheet is really nice to use and has a secure fit, even on a deeper mattress. The band in the pillow cases is also a very nice feature. The sheets stay wrinkle free and cool. I would touch these in person if you can, to see if they are for you. They are very silky. The pillowcases are perfect but the slippery sheets might take some getting used to. They do the job of regulating temperature, much better than cotton or linen sheets. The dark grey color looks nice and has held up well after a few washes.

The fitted sheets have a Powerband Secure-Fit - a strong elastic band that holds them tight but on my 12 inch deep mattress they just come to the edge. Another couple of inches for the depth would be great. Another thing on the fitted sheet is there is no distinction between the top and sides. Another set I have has different colors on each end to make it easier to figure out direction although on a split king (two XL twins side by side) it’s pretty easy to tell which way the sheets fit. The pillow cases also have the Powerband, a unique feature I’ve never seen before. There are two elastic straps that are supposed to keep the pillow secure in the case however even with what I thought to be large king size pillows, the elastic just hangs there. Smaller pillows just slide around. Then there is the top sheet, this thing is just huge, it hangs down almost 16 inches on each side of the bed, and it’s stretchy. My wife and I both end up getting tangled and fighting with it. As to the overall feel of the sheets, they are 100% polyester. They are not slippery but feel kind of like a pair of thick nylons or a compression fabric. I will say however, as someone who is a hot sweaty sleeper, I have woken up each morning comfortable and dry. Laundering instructions indicate cold wash with mild detergent and non-chlorine bleach. I am eager to see how they hold up over time. I would rather the lunch box shaped packaging be a box or all recyclable plastic rather than the cloth and plastic tote. I have never been able to fold sheets to fit back in these containers and I’m not sure I could find another use for it so it will most likely end up in the trash. I give this sheet set a 3 for fit and finish and a 5 for the technology of keeping you dry while you sleep. I may end up hemming about a foot off the side of the top sheet to minimize the struggle. If you sweat during the night and don't toss and turn alot, this is a sheet set for you.

Until seeing these moisture wicking sheets, I didn’t know there was such a thing. To be honest, the price tag did scare me initially, because I couldn’t imagine spending that much on sheets. However, when you stop and think about it, I’ll use these every night, hopefully eight hours a night. That seems like something worth investing in to make sure you’re comfortable and sleeping well. All of that being said, I was still a bit skeptical. I’m someone who will wake up in the middle of the night with nothing but a sheet covering me and be totally hot and uncomfortable. I have noticed a significant difference in how I sleep because I don’t wake up that way with these sheets. They really do what they’re advertised to do, and they’re actually very comfortable overall. I’m finding that I do sleep better, more soundly, and wake up less during the night after using these for about a week. If you have trouble with sleeping too warm, this could be an excellent option for you.

Bedgear - Dri-Tec Moisture-Wicking Sheet Sets-King The Bedgear Dri-Tec Sheets feel like one of those sweat wicking tee shirts. The are very soft to the touch and are well made. The bottom fitted sheet is large enough to fit a thick mattress. I would say you could easily put these on a mattress that’s a foot thick. The top sheet is also over sized just a bit. I love the way these feel and I slept well on them with no sweat at all. My wife on the other hand loves the fitted sheet and the pillow cases, but just can not deal with the fact that the top sheet kind of conforms to you while you sleep. This causes her to be wrapped in the top sheet about halfway through the night. We used the sheets as is for 2 nights. She could not deal with the form fitting feel of the top sheet. Remember, I had no issue with it at all. On the 3rd and 4th nights we swapped out the top sheet for one from another set. We had 2 sets of expensive sheets that the fitted sheet fell apart on, so we now have a different top sheet to try with. On our 3rd and 4th night the issue with my wife getting wrapped up in the top sheet was taken care of with the change to a different type of top sheet. What I noted about this was I did not feel as cool with the alternate top sheet. The Bedgear top sheet made me feel cooler while I slept and did not cause me any issues. The alternate top sheet lost the cooling effect, but I still slept well. So for the next test we put the Bedgear top sheet back on for night 5. On the 5th and final night of using the sheets as is, my wife not only got wrapped up in the top sheet, but also had the top sheet snag on her heal because of a very minor skin issue. She was none to happy in the morning being wrapped up and now having to have delt with a snag on her foot. I, again, slept fine with no issues. Here is what I can take away from this. When I sleep, I lay completely still until I can feel myself drifting off. Once I’m drifting off, I will calmly turn until I find just the right spot. My wife does not sleep this way. She will not lay still ever, she makes sharp, fast adjustment to her position until she finally drifts off. Sometimes she will make those adjustments in the middle of the night. I believe the top sheet issue is being caused by the sheet sticking, ever so slightly, to her. Unlike my slow and planned movement. Her sharp, fast movement does not allow the top sheet to allow her to slide under it and instead it just wraps around her. I have looked this up online about these sheets, and it is in fact a real thing. Lots of complaints about the top sheet wrapping people up. And just as many people that have no issue with that. I think if you are looking at these sheets you may want to consider what type of sleeper you are. If you are a calm, slow mover, you will enjoy these sheets. If your movements are fast and sharp, these may not be for you. These are expensive sheets. Make sure you are the type of sleeper that will enjoy them.

The Bedgear - Dri-Tec Moisture-Wicking Sheet Set is fantastic. Feels nice and soft on the skin having a cool feel but not a too cold feel to them when you jump into bed. They are very breathable to help you stay cool and comfortable. Temperatures in MN has been pretty cool at night, so no real test of moisture wicking technology. Still nice and soft feel after being in the wash a few time. Durability and longevity of softness TBD, but I have high hopes for the comfort level to last longer than your standard cotton sheets.

This is my first Moisture wicking sheet. I am truly impressed by the performance of these sheets though they are priced a little bit higher. But still it is worth it especially if you are living in hotter places or for someone who sweats a lot in the night. This is something you should consider. Pro: 1. Sheets stays cool allowing us to sleep well 2. Very soft, very comfortable and smooth material 3. Elastic band grabs both the mattress and the pillow case from slipping. 4. Lightweight construction. 5. Fits both the mattress and pillow very well. Cons: 1. It is possible to do Machine wash cold... It would have been nice if it is possible to do a Warm wash especially for families that have kids or pets. 2. Bit pricier but not a complaint if it suits your body/living condition especially if you sweat a lot or live in warm or humid areas.

I've always preferred 100% cotton sheets because I thought they kept me cooler while sleeping. Apparently I was wrong - these Dri-Tec performance sheets do a great job! Silky smooth and softer than any cotton sheets I've owned. They do a great job of keeping you cool throughout the night so you wake up refreshed. Sheets are lightweight and super comfortable - and large enough to stay on the bed! The fitted sheet is a sheet that really fits and has elastic all the way around to keep it on the mattress. I wish all sheets were made this way! Both fitted sheet and pillowcase include "power band secure grip and fit" which keep them in place. I was skeptical at first but am absolutely thrilled with these sheets and how well I sleep. For an even better experience, be sure to try their Glacier Performance Pillows also!

This Bedgear sheet set was the perfect color for our queen size bed and we were anxious to try them out. They are very soft and pleasant to the touch, and the fitted sheet acutally has extra- strong elastic straps to hold it in place on the mattress pad. I have been using them for a couple of weeks, and have been extra comfortable under the covers during the evaluation. Until I read the product description, I had never heard of a moisture wicking sheet. All I can say is that they must work. I have slept in total comfort with no sweating or any urge to get out from underneath the covers. I am the tester here, but my wife heartily concurs. These sheets are a great investment for long term comfort and a very pleasant sleeping experience. Well done, Bedgear!

My charcoal grey bed set is very good at keeping me comfortable as well as cool and dry. The split king fitted sheets fit quite snugly on my 21" thick mattresses without having come loose even once. The flat sheet is quite large but it is also rather slippery, so my blanket and comforter want to slide around a bit. The pillow cases have elastic straps that I have not figured out the proper use for - they are equally cool and comfortable. Highly recommended.

    Product vs Price?

To be fair, I normally would not pay $200 for sheets. By saying that I don’t have a frame of reference to other $200 sheets. So to take the sheets at face value on what is claimed as it’s features I would say it does not fully provide what is says. They are comfortable enough but again not much different than lower priced sheets. The main feature seems to be a cooling effect. While there may be an immediate feeling of coolness when getting into bed, this quickly goes away and doesn’t remain cool over night. One thing I can be sure is I am using them right. Just not sure what the advantage is over lower cost sheets.
