BEWARE! Digital Download expired 09/2022 WB won't

Great movie, however, the fact that WB made sure to put in fine print that the code for digital download must be redeemed by 9/30/22 is shady. I love having the 4k disc but I mainly watch my movies on the go using VUDU, and when I entered the code online it states code is expired. After reading comments online about WB cracking down on their codes, mind you I've had many codes from other studios which said they were expired but still were accepted, i reached out to WB and they're resoonse was we can not honor your code nor can we reissue you a new code. You can purchase the 4k version of Beetlejuice on VUDU, so there is no reason other than greed on WB end, and it only costs $14.99 in Standard Definition, HDX (1080), and 4k UHD...they all cost the same. So if you don't care about the physical disc, buy the movie online and save some money. Also, all the studio had to do, or Best Buy, was to remove the outer sleeve which says at the top 4k UHD, Blu-Ray and Digital Download Included and I wouldnt have felt so duped. Again, its just corporate greed since WB has to make up for their own terrible ideas like the Batgirl movie which was so bad they scrapoed the $100 million project after it was completed and ready to go to theaters. I'll be mindful of which studio my movie is coming from and if it is one I must have, and from WB, I will make sure the code is still valid!

I watched this on my friend's 7.1 system, and it was special. Not really a movie that benefits too much from the audio aspect, but the video quality was pretty good. I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid, so it was good to refresh my memory of the characters and story again. The 5 Stars is mostly for the movie, more-so than the quality of the 4K itself. Makes a good addition to anyone's 4K library.

A classic movie that looks even better in 4k. I finally decided to pick this movie up, never having owned it until now. It is one that I have enjoyed watching numerous times when able to. I like many of Tim Burton's films and Michael Keaton gives an unforgettable performance.

Every time that I watch this movie, I enjoy it! The main characters are attractive and pleasant people, and the screenplay is filled with humor. That is unusual for a horror flick! There are also several scenes with great special effects, so it is nice to have the 4K version of the movie.

Another classic from Tim Burton. Like many of other films talks about the afterlife except in a fun way. Not shy about showing about how people have died in pg manner. All and all the film is a ton fun and a must watch.

This movie was originally shot on 35mm, but for this 2020 release, it was given a brand new 4k digital intermediate! On top of that, as per the norm with UHD releases, it was also given an HDR color grade for your viewing pleasure in HDR10. Let’s just get this out of the way now, this movie looks great through and through, and I’m really impressed! Not only did they restore the film to its original 1.85:1 aspect ratio, but there’s a new level of depth, clarity, and color noticeable from the very first scene. This remaster looks great, honestly, it looks like it could’ve been shot in the last few years it looks so good. (You can compare it to something like the way IT was produced and shot.) I’m sure you already know that this is a Tim Burton movie? Keeping that in mind, all the new bells and whistles of the UHD format bring his unique visuals to the forefront like never before. When this remaster was first announced, I would’ve argued with you that a heavy layer of grain needed to be present — don’t you agree? Usually, a movie shot in the 1980s needs a solid layer of grain to bring out all the detail, but to my surprise, there’s practically none in this release and it still works. Instead, you get a film-like appearance with top-notch close-ups and long scenic shots of both worlds, plus everything you can imagine in-between. Now, I could argue that this movie was made for this UHD release. It’s truly amazing that you can’t point out noise reduction and everything looks the way it does… You can see this level of detail in many places throughout the film, but what I focused on was the little things like the grime in Beetlejuice’s teeth and moss growing off of his face. Warner Brothers traditionally have more good releases than bad ones, but rest assured that this is one of the good ones. Definitely worth the upgrade from that old blu-ray that wasn't really a good transfer.

Some people might argue about what Tim Burton's finest work is, but Beetlejuice is right up there at the top. A lot of his work is good, but aside from Batman, nothing ever gained quite the cult following of this movie. Everyone in this movie is great, Alec Baldwin hasn't yet gone crazy, Gena Davis continues her best valley girl routine, Micheal Keaton delivers Beetlejuice on a silver platter, and Cathrine O'Hara just plays herself as she always does. And I don't mind. Alec Baldwin and Gene Davis are Adam and Barbra, the newlywed couple who "take a wrong turn" and end up dying, only to come back as cursed ghosts who must live in their house for all eternity. As they... live... with the fact that they are dead and try to cope, their (after)lives are uprooted by their home being bought by Charles and Deelia Deets (played by Jeffery Jones and Cathrine O'Hara). They befriend Charles' daughter, Lydia (Wynona Ryder), a self loathing teen on the verge of suicide (not really) and eventually come across the ghost with the most himself, Beetlejuice (Micheal Keaton). After release Beetlejuice from his grave, they must find a way to put him back and get the Deet's out of their home for good, but things don't go as planned...
