Was looking for an inexpensive PA solution for "iPod events": easy-to-use speakers that set up and tear down in a snap, can handle the occasional bump, look decent and can make some noise when an MP3 player or laptop is patched in. These speakers fill that role capably. Ease of use: check. Plug a pair of these into a power strip (you WILL need grounded extension cords, because the supplied power cords are kinda short), plug your music player into the back of one speaker (I prefer the XLR jack to the 1/4" TS for sound quality), and then link the second speaker with an XLR-m/XLR-f patch cable, power up the speakers, start the music player, adjust your gain and EQ on each speaker and voila! Instant party! Loud and reasnably clear: check and check. I priced and compared several different speakers at the "under $400" price point, and these were the clear winner for both volume and sound quality. Harbinger and Alto were muddy sounding by comparison, and the Mackie "Thump" has the brashest, most un-musical mid/high horn I think I've ever heard. A pair of these is plenty loud for venues of 250 guests--I've never even come close to hitting the clip light on these for venues of this size. Rugged casing: check. I baby my stuff and I'm careful, but these are "set it and forget it"-type events: once they're up and running, I give the venue operators a tutorial on how not to blow up $600 worth of my equipment and I'm not back until it's time to tear it down and take it back to storage. That said, I don't have to worry about these; there's enough beef here that they can take a few bumps but they're not so heavy that they're going to break your back. Drawbacks: one of the units shipped with a loose XLR input jack; it hasn't affected sound quality or performance, but I just noticed that the XLR cable isn't as snug on one as it is on the other... but if it does become a problem, that's what the 4-year Geek Squad coverage is for, right? Also, the gain and EQ knobs stick out from the back of the unit with no real protection because the amp is not very deeply recessed in the speaker housing. Again, I baby my stuff (ESPECIALLY during transport), so I'm not too concerned. Someone who is less cautious might wind up snapping off a knob if they don't have these babies properly padded and secured when they're being moved around. Overall, good for the role they serve. Are they a JBL Eon or a QSC K-series? Nope. But since those are at least three times as much per unit, I wouldn't dream of letting one of those out of my sight for a second. If you're just getting started in mobile DJ or portable PA, these are a good first choice, but upgrade to either JBL, QSC or non-Thump Mackie as soon as you've saved up for an upgrade and then use these as a backup rig.

This is a great speaker for indoor and outdoor use. The sound is clear and built in amp makes it possible to use anywhere. Light weight and durable

This PA system is definitely worth its price, only one can fill a fairly large open space with clear sound ,I had a performance in an open space needing only music and after a while people decided to ask for karaoke and with only this and a mixer sound was great party a great success..

Easy setup, a little heavy but prefer it that way than the new updated lightweight berhinger speakers they made awhile back, the other ones made them feel cheap and had a bad experience with them, so I recommend these over the newer lighter ones for overall quality and sound, great for beginners.

I purchased a fourth Behringer Eurolive B215D, having used three others extensively for the past few years. This one, obtained from Best Buy, came damaged, although the damage is internal. It sounds as though the unit has been blown, producing distorted sound. I did not use the unit for a couple of weeks. When I contacted Best Buy within a month of shipping, I was informed that returns had to be made within two weeks--leaving me on my own. I will not purchase from Best Buy again.
