This product is okay if you literally are looking for it to do the bare minimum. You cannot change the song without looking at your device which is dangerous. Its just a very very basic product and was a waste of $30.

I think I must have gotten a defective cord. I use it in my car with my iPhone and if I bump the the cord slightly, it won’t work unless I wiggle the cord plugged into my dashboard. It fits firmly, but seems to have a wiring issued within the cord itself. Unfortunately, I tossed the box and its past the return window. I won’t be purchasing this brand again. Too pricy for a cord that doesn’t work.

    The need for AUX

The Belkin Lightning-to-3.5mm Audio Cable cable give you a direct connection to your home or car stereo without the need of your Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. The great thing with this cable is the size around the lighting connector is not too big (I do not have a case on my iPhone) however I could see this working with a majority of cases. Audio was great, no volume or noticeable quality issues. Great for for kickbacks at home, or short trips. The biggest drawback is the inability to charge your device while listening to music without any extra adapters. If you drive for any of the Major Ridesharing companies, and offer the AUX cable to those you gives rides, this is the perfect! No Bluetooth or 3.5mm complications.

Great solution for Stereo System and fidelity soun

Belkin has had always a good reputation as manufacturer for gadgets, computers and cell phones accessories and this case is not the exception. This lightning to Stereo jack cable is well constructed and feels reliable. The size of both connectors are perfectly suitable for my iPhone 7 case lightning connector hole, as well as for the Stereo jack female connector of my car and my old home audio amplifier. The color is black, which I found really useful, since the typical apple white color cable easily gets dirty. The Length (3ft) was enough for my needs. And the cable works as it was designed, if you have a IPhone 7 or above, you will notice that there is not a headphone jack, only the lightning port. So if you are driving a car that doesn’t have BT connectivity, and only has a stereo jack port, this cable is your solution. The same situation if you want to listen the music of your iPhone in your old Stereo System, or Pandora radio or iTunes radio. In some Stereo Systems amplifiers don’t have the stereo 3.5 jack port, only RCA ports, so you will need a female 3.5mm stereo to L/R RCA male patch cable, and that is easy to find in the market. Now, even if you have an iPhone 6 or below that has both ports, the sound that comes out from the lightning port has more “fidelity” than the one that comes out from the Stereo Port. The only problem is that while you are using the lightning port for listening music with this adapter, you cannot charge your phone at the same time, if it is an iPhone 7 or below that doesn’t have the wireless charge option. However Belkin has the solution for this issue with the “Belkin's Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar adaptor”, that essentially it will allow you to have 2 lightning ports. Now, if you are a music lover, and don’t want to have any kind of compression and all that crazy stuff that BT causes to the sound in order to transmit, this cable is your best option. It transmits the sound the old fashion way in analog mode. Your only concern in terms of quality sound will be the way you have sampled or coded your mp3 songs, but that is up to you. I think this cable is a great option for the new IPhone limitation ports or if you want to have real music quality.

I have always been a Belkin fan. In my experience Belkin has consistently provided OEM quality products that are dependable and reliable. In this case, the cable looks and feels very good quality especially at the connection points. The fit is positive and tight at both ends at the connection point. My only negative comment (and this is purely subjective) is that the chord feels somewhat slim (some might describe in a positive light as it feels supple) and in fairness I am more used to the thicker cable that came with my other phone. With the note that it is 2018 and some may question why the need for wired technology, for me it works great. I have a 1983 Ford F-350 work truck that has the wired connection but no wireless and it works great.I also use in my 2005 RV and 2002 cabin cruiser. While I could upgrade all 3 to a newer wireless technology, this cable affords me the ability to use existing receivers without the expense and time of upgrading for vehicles that are not regularly used. In all, I would recommend this product. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is as mentioned, I prefer a slightly thicker cable for my big old clumsy man-hands. Otherwise its a good solution for my needs.

Bought this to listen to music in my car. Thought it would be a good option to replace the traditional aid cable I had as I was getting feedback from the lightning adapter I had to use. Unfortunately I threw my other cable out when I bought this one. The feedback is much worse. Terrible sound.

      Hi, Braintreeguy,

The 3.5 mm Audio Cable With Lightning Connector meets all Apple required and preferred standards for Lightning Audio to maintain sound quality. To isolate, try using the cable to a different compatible device and if the same thing happens, get in touch with us at [email protected] with your contact details and a link to this review so we can have our Product Experts look into this.

Belkin - 3' Lightning-to-3.5mm Audio Cable - Black Keep in mind that this cable has the expected male LIGHTNING plug and the less typical MALE 3.5mm STEREO AUDIO Jack. It makes connecting to the appropriate devices easy and reliable. I’ve got a couple of those appropriate devices. SONY’s new stereo receiver has a variety of inputs, including Bluetooth and a 3.5mm Stereo Audio input right there on the front panel. Go ahead, accuse me of being old fashioned, but I’ll take that hard wired connection if you give me the option. And, yes, both will work. In fact, my fancy sport sedan gives me those same choices. If it’s premium sound quality with no fuss, I’m gonna wire my phone directly into the provided auxiliary port. And this cable works reliably. I’ve got a few powered speakers around my house, and they require this 3.5mm plug, although they are often mono. For those, you may want to get another cable that splits the channels. Just be alert to the gender of the connectors. Like I said, this cable works reliably and offers more connectivity options for those of you with the newest iPhones.

For those of us with older cars or audio units that we love and do not want to get rid of, this plug is for you! I love the simplicity of the plug, though I wish it was a slight bit longer but it is not a dealbreaker. Just plug in the lightning side into your device and the aux part and you are good to go. I am very impressed with the sound compared to my radio bluetooth. Music and movies sound like surround sound in my car with the plug verses my current bluetooth. I also like the slim aux plug and lightening plug, so far I have been able to use with all different types of cases on my phone. Another great feature is I no long have to unpair and re-pair my bluetooth anymore, just plug and play, unplug and replay and since majority of my family are iPhone users, I just unplug and give the plug to someone else, which great when you are driving. This is definitely a must have for all iPhone users, no more aux adapter!

Disclaimer - I received this product in exchange for my fair and unbiased review. The Belkin Lightning to 3.5mm aux cable solves a problem owners of the iPhone 7, 8 and X face - how to connect their phone to their car radio or other wired speaker. While Belkin does make other solutions for this problem in their Rockstar line of iPhone accessories, none are as elegant as the Lighting to 3.5mm aux cable is (as long as you don't need to charge your phone simultaneously). Just plug in and go, no additional cables needed. On top of aux jack connectivity in the car or on a speaker, this cable can also be used as a short headphone cable if your headphones have a removable cable using the 3.5mm connector; this worked great with my Plantronics RIG-series gaming headphones. Audio quality is every bit as good as the stock headphone dongle that comes with recent iPhones, which means it sounds better than bluetooth in the car.

This cable has a nice feel to it. Feels like quality. Allows you to plug your audio into any Aux source. The 3ft length is a nice edition as well. The downside is that you won't be able to charge your device while using the cable.
