Is necesary to have this USB extension in the PC. Is relaxing to work with this possibility ...

I got this for a Dell I7547 laptop (BB SKU 8733545) since it didn't have an Ethernet port. Chose this version since it ALSO doubles as a USB3 hub. Plugged it in to the laptop (wireless was connected), the W8.1 machine quickly downloaded the necessary drivers and worked right away with NO configuration required. Small size, I've confirmed USB 3 speeds and gigabit connection speeds. Very happy.

Easy plug-and-play; nice compact size and love having the capability of connecting Ethernet network cable directly.

I had to buy an adapter for a new laptop without wired networking. I did some research on the options and bounced around with a few options. There are some cheaper options and there are some smaller options, but this one won me over for a couple of reasons. My laptop only has 3 USB ports so using 1 for Ethernet left me with only 2 which isn't really adequate anymore. This is an Ethernet adapter with additional ports so I can solve two problems at once. The ports on the module are USB3 so I'm not sacrificing speed by expanding my USB ports. I've had no problems with Ethernet connectivity or with any of the USB devices I've plugged in. It's a simple product (no external power requirements is a plus too) that does what it's supposed to do.

This little gadget provides 3 extra USB 3.0 ports for my Surface Pro, which has only one port. This hub is small, light and easy to tuck into my case, and it gives me the fast connection I want for my external drives and mouse. This was a good purchase for a good price.

What else can I say? it works well, looks cooll (conversation piece) has three usb 3.0 ports when I'm really geeking out. Works perfect so far. Once you go Belkin, you can't go back.

Excellent value, 3.0 USB ports, small form factor so not obtrusive, USB powered so may not be able to run all your peripherals but I can run laser printer, USB mouse without problems.

The 3 port USB 3.0 ports (super-speed) worked right out if the box. I would give this 5 stars except it's almost impossible to find the driver to make the Ethernet work and the customer service was HORRENDOUS (talking to you, Belkin!). Had to find the driver from the original micro-controller website via my own research (Belkin never called me back and it was very polite). More details: The USB Ethernet requires drivers for any OS except Win 8.1 (or so they claim). Driver did not come in box but points you to website. Unfortunately, the driver is unavailable on the site. After hunting for 30 minutes, I spoke with a Belkin CS Agent who - after putting me on hold for another 30 minutes - said their elite department would be in touch within 24 hours. NEVER HEARD FROM BELKIN! After doing my own internet research, I found the micro-controller site of the chip they use.... I downloaded the driver for Mac OSX and voila! Works perfect now! (no thanks to Belkin) For those of you interested, here's the site to find drivers for this device: http://www.asix.com.tw Look for USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet on the left and follow the links to the driver page. They have drivers for every OS imaginable!

This little adapter has three USB 3.0 slots and a gigabit Ethernet. I use this with my Surface Pro 3, which has only one USB 3.0 slot. Now, I can connect a mouse, an external drive, a portable bluray drive and, at the same time, have a fast hard-wired internet. It doesn't need an external power. It made using the SP3 much more convenient. The one thing that kept me from giving it five stars is the price. If it were only $20, I'll give it one more star.

Since the new MacBooks do not come with integrated NIC's, this two in one is a great addition for people looking to move large files over a network. I have had a few instances where the ethernet could not be found by my macbook after coming out of sleep mode, but that seems to have been fixed with the latest driver. If you're looking for just ethernet however, apple sells a thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet that works without any extra drivers.

My new laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port, so this is the perfect solution. It connects to a USB 3.0 port and gives you two more 3.0 ports AND a high-speed Ethernet connection. The Ethernet connection works great (wish I could say that about my ISP) and I can't believe the speed of USB 3.0. Outstanding!

This is perfect for those who have a tabletwith a USB port I have an Asus Windows tablet with a USB 3.0 I use it for IT purposes and sometimes cannot connect into a network when there's no Wi-Fi and I'm required to hardwire in and the gigabit ethernet adapter on this is perfect as well as it allows me to plug in my flash drives with all my tools that I need to get the job done

My Macbook Pro only came with 2 USB ports which wasn't enough for me. With this Belkin device, I was able to double my USB ports to 4 which enabled me to plug in my postal scale, my Seagate back-up drive, my mouse and my camera's card reader. All I did was plug it in and it worked perfectly. We liked it so much, we bought another one for my son's MBP too.

I purchased this for use with my surface pro 3. Works great for USB but I have not fired up the Ethernet port yet. It travels well. My only complaint is that the attached USB cord a little short. Likely not an issue with laptops but has to hang from my surface pro. Not enough of an issue for me to consider it a flaw. All and all a great little dongle for the road.

I wanted a USB splitter so I could have my Wii U connected to an external hard drive and still leave two ports available for Guitar Hero Live receivers. Hooking everything up took a bit of trial, error, and searching the web, but it meets my needs completely.

For every owner of a Macbook Air, this is an essential accessory with 3 additional USB ports and port to connect to internet modem. The modem connection is necessary when you want to check the speed of your internet or any other problem with your internet because it is the only way to bypass the wireless and connect to the modem.

I had a j5 that started acting up, so I bought this Gig E w/ USB 3 hub. Very happy with this product. I didn't load any driver - it came on at Gig E speed, and I haven't found anything that won't work with the USB ports. If you have a Surface product (or only 1 USB port and no Ethernet port), this is definitely the way to go.

Using this for my Asus Tablet that runs windows is a must. I created a docking station for my wife at our store. So when she sites in the office she has the convenience of a desktop at her fingers. Fully keyboard and mouse USB on the Hub, room for USB drive, and the wired network attached. Love it!
