If the base for the phone charger were less tilted the phone would probably charge without removing it from the case, as the magnet isn't strong enough to hold the phone at that angle.

AirPods Do Not Charge Correctly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While the iPhone and Apple Watch charging ports work flawlessly, the AirPods charging port is an utter disaster. After a few months of usage, AirPods did not charge roughly half of the time, despite the LED light indicating the device is charging. Not worth the money.
