Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the first of the two of these cables I've tried when I found it on sale here at BestBuy.com, and shortly after I'd received the 2016 model Dell XPS 12 I'd ordered on their site. My intent was to use this cable to charge the ridiculously power-hungry XPS 12 using a backup battery pack I have on hand that can be used for everything from small electronics to jump-starting a dying car battery. Nope. I figured maybe the first cable I'd gotten was faulty in some way. I closely inspected the cable to find that it's the recommended drawn metal port, not a wrapped or cut one as can be found on cheaper quality USB-C type ports. Nope; Belkin made this one the right way, so that's not the problem. Maybe it's just the one cable? So off to Best Buy I went to order a replacement... That one arrived, and it's not recognized by my XPS 12, either. So, my 4 stars are for Belkin's suspected - but as yet unproven - quality, and my suspicion that this is just another ploy on Dell's part to milk its customers of every possible penny they can get from us, rendering non-Dell manufactured products unuseable whenever and wherever they can (*shakes fist angrily at Dell*). Belkin's still good in my book, though.

It's best to check the computer's minimum power requirement and use it with another handheld device or power pack if there's any. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this cable because my new phone has a USB-C port, and I needed the cable to use all of my old accessories. I was really excited to use this in my car with Android Auto (which I did), but then after ONE DAY, the cable stopped working. There was "no connection between the phone and the car" (or any device for that matter) when it was plugged in. I was quite shocked, considering that this is a Belkin product. Belkin usually makes great quality products. That's why I bought this cable in the first place; it was a Belkin cable (has to be good, right?). This is the second Belkin product I've bought that has broken soon after its purchase (and the last Belkin product I'll ever buy). I would not recommend this to anyone if this is the quality I can expect. Take your money elsewhere.
