Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station's multiple HDMI ports, compact size convenient for travel, and its ability to support multiple monitors. Many appreciate the build quality and performance, although some find the price high and the cable could be longer. A few users experienced compatibility issues or excessive heat. The docking station's numerous ports are also a plus for many users.

    Flakey ethernet on Macbook Pro.

I've had this since shortly after I started WFH ~March 2020. It works great most of the time. It stays plugged in 24x7. About 50% of the time I have to unplug and re-plug it to get the Ethernet port to work with my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019). This happens after a full reboot, sleep, or if I manually unplug it. Sometimes multiple unplug/replug attempts are required. Once it's all up and running it works great. 1440p monitor and 1080p monitor connected via HDMI, gigabit Ethernet, and USB ports with webcam and keyboard/mouse all work. It's not quite annoying enough for me to replace with a different brand, but it sort of defeats the usefulness as a laptop doc. I almost never unplug it to take the laptop to another room/outside because I'd rather not waste time fiddling with reconnecting it.

I plugged in the dock expecting it be plug & play, but found that my computer didn't recognize that I had plugged anything in. I went through and made sure that I had the latest BIOS & firmware installed, which I did, and even changed the thunderbolt settings in my BIOS to remove the need to authorize the device, in case that was screwing things up somehow. Still nothing. Thinking that maybe it was my thunderbolt port, I decided to try it with my sister's laptop, which did the same thing. That is to say, nothing. Was really hoping to use this so that I could have my drawing tablet & secondary monitor plugged in at the same time, since my laptop only has one HDMI port, and the extra USB hubs & potential for yet another monitor was appealing. Need to return it, and I'll just order a USB-C to HDMI adapter, since I know that'll work as expected, and cost me far less money, even if it doesn't give me the same flexibility as this dock would have.

It is heavier than it looks and seems pretty robust. Very easy to use, just plug and play. I bought it to use two monitors simultaneously and it works very well. Cable is kind of short, making it hard to position it to your liking without using an extension. Also be aware the it has compact USB connector, so make sure your computer can take it or you’ll need an adaptor.

Supports my use case of extending my mac book pro to two external monitors over hdmi. The usb and ethernet ports works fine as well. Wish it could have been a little cheaper. Hyperdrive duo and j5 create Docking station didn't work for me.

the specs for a thunderbolt docking station are nice to have but be aware that if you laptop doesn't have a compatible USB-C controller this nice docking station will not work at the store the tech assure me that if I have a USB-C port it would work but I had this feeling that the kid was unaware that the blabber coming out of his mouse was inaccurate. so being nice is not enough you also need to know what you are saying. I will return it tomorrow and get me something that I now will work... so for the next couple of hrs it is time to do some docking station research... I like the Belkin brand and accessories, generally I have used them for the last 12 years and they work and last a long time. this item felt solid and looks nice, the cable is not too long so if you are limited in space on your desk the short cable could be a negative; on the other hand it seats right next to the computer and unlike other docking stations the network port (RJ-45) has indicator lights too bad my computer is not compatible but in today tech world things are changing so fast that compatibility issues are normal

Easy to set up and worked good for about a week then I started noticing I was having issues with my network connection. I plugged the cable directly into my laptop and the issue when away. Also had an issue with my USB mouse till I plugged it directly into my laptop. I work from home so I'm plugged in a least 8hrs a day and the docking station gets really hot. So far my 2 21inch monitors are working fine. Not a work horse. Looking for a new docking station.

I've purchased 3 of these for work and within a year the USB's stopped working on all of them. Those are some really terrible odds. I've still been using all of them for dual monitor/laptop setups, which in fact works really well. It's a shame that the usbs are useless because otherwise they've been the best docking stations I've used.

Does not work with two 4k monitors

Device won't drive two 4k monitors simultaneously (over HDMI). Only the first monitor connected is recognized. Once both monitors are plugged in, unplugging the live monitor from the dock causes the other one to become live. But when you re-plug the HDMI for the previous one, it is not detected. My workaround is to use the HDMI port on my laptop to drive the second monitor and only use the dock to drive one. Belkin tech support is completely clueless. They made no attempt to debug or fix when I reported the issue and simply sent me a new device. Unfortunately, the new device has the same problem and Belkin has no idea what to do or how to fix.

This unit is good for connectivity of a network, a screen, and USB devices, but not so good for dual screens. I recommend another type of device because this is decent and other times the other screen connects and then disconnects.

I have an HP Elite Book for work and MacBook Pro for home use and I need an inexpensive Tunderbolt 3 docking solution. The Belkin T3 Docking Station had the right combination of features for the price! I can dock a keyboard, mouse, and 4K monitor for both my Work and Home computuers with ease. You'll need a separate power cord but this is a safer configuration anyways, lots of high end laptops need 150W power supply and Thunderbolt can only supply 90W. Good value, I'm impressed.

This is the second one we have bought, works like a charm. The stupid proprietary cables that the vendor uses for their docks are expensive and a pain to replace, these allow dual monitors plus laptop screen on my laptops’ chipsets using generic hdmi cables. Love them, one for each laptop (mine and my partners).

Belkin made the 'impossible' possible with this product. After hours in discussion with Apple, the Geek Squad, and everyone who I know as tech savvy trying to find a solution to wanting to split my MacBook Air across 2 monitors. There was speculation about the Air's drive not being capable to handle 2 monitors, only one. However, Belkin's Dock allowed me to go from Thunderbolt to 2 outgoing HDMIs. Great Product.

This adapter has been a life saver for me working from home due to current world events. It's a far superior docking station to what I have at work since when I open/close my laptop screen with my dual monitor setup, it instantly recognizes the addition/removal of a third screen. My docking station at work fails to do this. Very happy with the product, just wish it were a bit less expensive...
