The Belkin - USB Type C-to-HD D-Sub/USB Type C Cable is another one of those Belkin accessories that simply works - and that makes it just what I needed. I do presentations from either my MacBook Pro or iPad in different settings and always need to be ready to work with older projectors that aren't HDMI yet. Without this adapter, I was relying on a mega-USB-C hub. That's overkill - and a hassle to carry around. This is just right for my needs.

Look closely - this has the older style VGA connector so be sure you are getting the right one for your needs. With that said, many of us have that "old" monitor sitting around looking for something to do. If you have recently gotten a new-style 2-in-1, convertible, or a Surface Go or Go 2, this is nice to have to hook up the larger display for all-day use - a little easier on the eyes. Don't overlook the "pass through" power channel, as you can charge your device at the same time you have the monitor connected. For this to work, your device must have USB3 video signal coming out of the device. There is no video card built in to the adapter. That's a lot of words for something that is VERY simple to use - just plug it in and activate the secondary screen on your device, and you are good to go! Stay Safe!

I used this dongle to cast my phone to an older TV. It worked for what I needed and the picture was great. Definitely have to get used to the amount of wires but otherwise it's exactly as advertised.

This is an excellent adapter for those who are on the road a lot for business, Many of today’s devices do not have a VGA port for use when making presentations and this works beautifully in that tye of situation. This is also a great device when you need an extra display. I have a Windows Tablet that only has USB-C ports. I use this device when I want to use two monitors and it works flawlessly. It’s light weight so it adds no real weight to your travel bag. As I said, if you are on the road a lot and your laptop doesn’t have a VGA port, this device is a must.

I like the use of this for the few times I need to connect to a vga device and can still pass thru a charge which is really helpful.

I used this with laptop top and plugged it in and it worked first time without any issues . Can’t ask for any more than that

I think this adapter is great for using my projector as a second screen or just viewing as a large screen. When plugging in my power into the power port on the adapter, I get a message "HP recommends using the original power adapter" but it still works. Great job Belkin!

Use this with my iPad Pro 4th gen and charges it at full speed and allows me to connect to an external monitor via vga. Combine with a Bluetooth keyboard and this transforms your iPad Pro to a computer in no time!
