WeMo switch

I can program this switch to turn on and turn off the lights with the app on my iPhone. The only thing I didn't like was the distance this switch would work from my wifi router, it would only work within 30 feet away. If I go beyond 30 feet I couldn't control the switch, I have other devices that works beyond 30 feet.

We are glad to know that you are enjoying your WeMo Switch. The distance could be greatly affected by the network's wireless range. How far can your iPhone go away from your network and still get 2-3 signal bars? You may want to adjust the router's 2.4GHz wireless channel to improve the phone's connection to the network. Try channel 6, 9, 11, or 1. Keep it away from wireless interference and physical obstructions too.

The Wemo line works great and without a hub on the Echo but none of the Wemo in wall light switches offer dimmable switches.That's a deal breaker for me and this will probably be our only Wemo device and I'll go with switches/plugs that connect through Smartthings. The only negative for this switch is that it makes a fairly loud click noise when turning off/on.
