Cool Product, Terrible App

The app is terrible though and freezes constantly. Also you have to upgrade the firmware after downloading the app and it takes almost 20 minutes to do.

Great once it is online

Pain in the butt

When it works it's great

Convenient but show

Using the Switch is indeed one of the convenient ways to control your light porch. Can you tell us the details about the lag? Do you experience it when turning it on or off? Does it happen even when you are locally controlling it? Its distance from the router could've affected its performance. Try to relocate it and observe if there will be improvements. Couldn't Connect to Wifi

But when I tried to connect to wifi via the iPhone app, it just wouldn't connect appropriately. After searching online, I found out that a lot of people have issues connecting to wifi, with no available fix. I tried a few suggestions, but nothing worked. Went straight back to Best Buy.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Wireless Interference and Incompatible router settings are just one of the possibilities why your WEMO Switch failed to connect to your Wi-Fi. And this challenge can easily be addressed by powercycling your router and changing the channel settings of your main Wi-Fi router. Resetting the WEMO switch is also a suggested fix.

pretty basic functionality
