Changing your router’s wireless channel is a good move to avoid possible interference in your network. The recommended channels for the 2.4 GHz network are 1, 6, and 11 since they are considered non-overlapping channels. I have it plugged in behind an oversized chair and is VERY inconvienent to reset it daily. The phone app works great. It was interesting to have as a first add-on to Alexa but definitely would not recommend this. Spen the extra money to bjy a better one.

Sorry I bought Wemo Plug in

Everytime the electricity goes off I have to reinstall it. I bought a different brand of plug in which I would recommend. I really like the tp-link plug in. It's easier to install and program. And It's easier to schedule.

My husband installed the app on his cell. Opening for the first time, it indicated that an update was available. First warning signs. First, the setup was not straightforward. Only 1 out of 3 could be actually controlled when not over home WiFi. Then it again wanted to update firmware of the App. Little did we realize that after updating, it will force the cell phone to hang permanently and force a complete wipeout of data - a factory restore was needed -LOSING ALL DATA AND PICTURES AND EVERYTHING ON THE PHONE. We returned all three and will never buy these again.

I have an Amazon Echo and Hue light bulbs which work just fine but I couldn't get this to work. I called support and they told me to reboot my router (my router was just fine). I gave it to my son to try and apparently he got it to work.

Difficult to use

I got one plug to work and the rest would not connect through the app. The one works great but the rest could not work

As long as your wireless security settings support WPA and WPA2 passwords of 8 to 63 characters comprised of numbers, letters and special characters such as symbols and spaces, then you should able to get the Wemo Switch to work on your network.

Although they claim Android support, make sure your phone can run the app before purchasing! Older android phones are not supported.

As long as your router's security settings support WPA, WPA2, and WEP security types, then you should able to get the Wemo Switch to work. There could've been factors that affected the process.
