Ok, so first of all this is technology. Things go wrong, glitches happen. It could be the switch, the app, the internet connection, the power, interference, who knows. So yeah, glitches occur, once in a while things go offline unexplained, but it's not a frequent problem and it may not be the switch's fault at all. There is a lot of room for operator error here. I have a NetCam, 2 outlet switches and 2 light switches that I have been using for about a year. They work great, and were easy to set up. I love that I can set different settings on vacation to make it look like we are home, instead of a predictable timer that looks very obvious. I set lights to turn off when the sun comes up, because we have one light that always gets left on during the day and I was tired of replacing the very expensive bulbs. I move my outlets around throughout the year from fans in the summer to Halloween and Christmas lights in the fall. I use the NetCam to keep an eye on the kids when I am on a different floor of the house, the house when we are away, and to trigger lights on at night if it sees motion. Automation is fun to play with, and adds another level to my home security. I'm watching for a great price on an alexa so I can really get lazy and just yell at the lights and fans to turn off instead of opening the app.

Tried on two separate sets of this product. Each attempt to synchronize with my network failed. Tech support is of no help.

Cant sync. Doesn't work in all locations. Cant add to multiple homes and its not sophisticated enough for any capable human

Returned to store worked for a short time , worked about 12 days out of 31days. Replaced for a new unit.

Didn't work.i tried to turn on my tv thru the echo system and it wast powerful enough.

This product doesn't work. Had to take it back. Shouldn't be sold anywhere by anyone.

I returned it. It did not work. Best Buy is great with returning items.

This is my 2nd WeMo switch. The first wemo is controls my hot water recirculator located in my garage. It's on between 3pm and 12am. We take showers at night. However, if someone wishes to shower in the morning, simply turn on the hot water via iphone app. Also great to vacation. I turn off the reciculator on vacation. and remotely turn it on when coming home. 2nd wemo controls my attic fan. It's remote and runs 2 hrs per day, But I can run it more often if needed.

oversized. have to use IFTTT to integrate w/Google Home.

I am using this in conjunction with an Amazon Echo which works very well. Initial setup is a little bit of a hassle, and it is essential to update the firmware once you get it connected. After setup these work flawlessly. The Android app works, but it takes longer to start up than other home automation apps.

I bought this to power multiple items in the distant sides of one room, and an timed light in another. Handling 1800W you can run most things through them. Setup wasn't hard though my Android phone. Set up 5 of them pretty easily. Link to the Wemo first, and then you set it to your home network. Next it detected firmware updates were needed and downloaded them. Rule to automate on and off by time aren't hard to setup. The Android app is still improving, but all of the needed features worked fine. Sometimes all of the wemo's don't show up, 1-2 refreshes at the most and they all appear. Allowing more customization and for it to work on all tablets with 4.0+ for the app is all that's left. I did not try the IFFF feature, no need for me.

This was so easy to setup - and it works great with my Amazon Echo. I had this for a couple of yeats and got few Light Switches now because I like the new Echo's voice control integration these things support with Echo.

I have the Belkin WEMO switches and plugs all over my home. Easy to install, easy to program. i love when my outside security lights come on at sundown and off at sunup. It's much easier to turn the Christmas tree on and off.

Bought this a week ago and love it. It's easy to use and makes remotely turning my connected device on and off a snap. However that being said there are a couple issues that the average user likely won't run into but I did. First enable UPnP on the LAN interface of your router. Make sure the just the LAN not the WAN. You don't want to open any security holes. Second if you are using a wireless router with DD-WRT make sure it is broadcasting in the 20mhz channel width. And lastly if you are using MAC filtering realize that the MAC address printed on the WeMo may not be the address that it connects to the router with. Because of the way it creates a network then connects to yours it likely will be different. You may need to turn off your MAC filtering during initial setup to figure out the address that it will actual connect with. Then you can turn it back on after you've added it to the filter. Minor setup headaches aside this is a great product and I can see myself buying several more.

Easy set up, great for setting on and off times while away from home.

The app setup was a little confusing since it's not indicated whether I was to make changes to the software or my phone and the setup for automatic worked at the wrong time, manually it works perfect. I gave it an EXCELLENT score because I believe the problems I'm having are operator error. I've shown the app to others and they saw it work and want to get one also.

I bought two of these over a month ago. It seemed to be easy to set up however, I do notice on a semi-regular occurrence that it will not be able to find my plug and I'm unable to turn the lamp on. I now have it set up to run on a schedule and so far, it's worked well. I only seem to have issues when I'm manually trying to turn it on or off. I like how it allows you to personalize your plugs, especially since I have more than one set up. This helps me know which room it is in. It also allows you to take a picture of the device plugged in and set it as the picture so you know what you are turning on or off.

As technology advances, I hear more and more stories about creating a smart home to live in. This great device is an easy start for those of you who are beginning to get into the smart home and serves as a great addition to any other smart home. Very easy to setup and use. Have had no issues with it at all. I can control my lights with the easy of a button on my phone wherever I am. I can make sure the light is on when I come home late at night and I also can make sure my lights are off when I'm out if I forget to turn off my lights. As an added bonus, things like this serves as a good show off piece in the house when guests are over. I highly recommend this.
