I bought this to control a recently installed outdoor gas heater. It is great to be able to turn the heater on a few minutes before we go outside so it is warmed up and ready for us. At our last house we had a landscape waterfall out back, it would have worked great for turning the waterfall on and off. I'm thinking about buying one or two more for Christmas lights. Connects to the ITTT service, I have used it to automatically turn the heater off at midnight in case we forget to turn it off ourselves. Set up was easy.

This product is great. Easy setup, works well with the Amazon Echo or you can use the software on your mobile device.

I am running 15 WeMo switches, and 1 sensor for an excellent automation process that can run customized Rules to orchestrate a weekly "lights out" process that starts at 11:00pm and slowly turns out lights for the next 45 minutes reminding me it's time to go to bed and back to work! On the weekends, you can program a couple of lights (or any other appliance, mine are for lighting only) to run on and off, and in the TV Room/Den it's very dark, and there's lighting. Not only are there rules, there is a sensor by my garage door that engages the lighting downstairs when anyone enters during "lights out". In conjunction with ITTT, one sensor and one switch can be in the recipe, but there are some cool recipes like, email me when the sensor by the garage door is activated. I know when the housekeepers or anyone enters or exits my home. With my camera system and , I can immediately engage whichever lights I chose remotely, and check things out with the camera to assure all is safe! I travel often and it's great to have a lighting scheme that lets folks know I'm away. The only negatives are, not being able to use range extenders. If you have a large home, they're necessary, and available, if using Apple Airport Express throughout your home. Also wish ITTT could support more than a single WeMo switch. Excellent choice for home automation at a sensible price.

I've been purchasing the wemo products for years and waiting on the Android app in the meantime. With the android app and plenty of WEMO devices my house is almost fully automated. Pretty simple device that is super awesome. Works perfect for your holiday light displays when used with rules such as, turn on at sunset. Grab one and give it a try.

I currently have 8 switches that I run on 2 different IPads and 2 different IPhones. I am using an Asus router with multi-channels (the latest and greatest). There are times that none of the switches will show up on a device. I have found the easiest way to fix this is to uninstall the app, then reinstall it. It will then find all the switches again. I have theories as to what causes this (the device and the switches on two different channels on the router) though I am not sure. It does appear to work on 3 devices consistently at a time (when you reinstall on the fourth, it kicks off one of the others). This is an inconvenience and can be annoying when you return home and can't turn on your lights because the switches do not show. When it is working I love it. I am sticking with this product in hopes that they increase the reliability. Also, the reason I have the latest and greatest Asus router, is because I had this issue with my Lynksys Router (ABGN multi channel), so I replaced it with a newer router. The issue still occurred. I was told that it may be a bandwidth issue, so I returned that router and bought the best one on the market at that time, the Asus. The fault is still occurring. So it is NOT a router issue.

I just bought this product last week and have a living room lamp plugged into it and I LOVE IT! It was super easy to set up and its so easy to use. Its great because I can turn my lamp on and off using my iPhone without getting up or I am able to turn it on/off from far away so when I get home after dark there is a light on. I tested it this past weekend and turned my lamp on from 70 miles away just using the free app on my iPhone. I absolutely love it and plan on getting more and am hoping to get at least one for Christmas! I would definitely recommend this for a single person or someone with kids. It could definitely come in handy. Definitely a great invention and purchase!

I have several of these and I have other Wemo products. They have just what I was looking for to update my home technology. Really recommend their products. And I love the app. That is very important to me that you have a great product and a friendly user app. So they get 5 stars from me.

Outstanding product if you use it along with the Belikn wireless cameras it isa perfect combination to monitor your home while you are away. I can turn my lights on from Europe then have a glance at my property. Gives me piece of mind knowing I can look and see whats going on at anytime day or night

Ok product but it makes a faint buzzing noise when it's really quiet ,and if u unplug it their a problem trying to find the switch in the app.so you have to set it up all over again . And if your not home it might not show up on app so make sure you test it on your phone not on your network first

Buying a Christmas gift for my dad has always been difficult for me as he is paralyzed following a stroke. Over time I realized he has to call someone in his room to turn his light off and on... here's where my "bright idea" came into play... for Christmas I got this switch so he can control it by himself using Alexa. I plan on making his room more accessible for him so he can feel he has more control over his life once again. Something as simple as a switch brought tears of joy to his eyes and for that, $29 to bring a great man some pride & independence is TOTALLY worth it!

Works okay, when it does work. Control program crashes frequently and forced to reboot phone. Bulky, takes up a lot of room at the outlet. Have to have a light that plugs in, when most lights are on fixtures in the ceiling.

I read about some having problems with using it on complex encryption - I am using WPA2/AES encryption on my home network - but I was able to connect just fine (I don't have spaces or special characters in my password). I could not, however, control the switch initially. After about 5 minutes the iPhone app provided an indication that there was a firmware update available for the outlet, which I applied. After the update, I was able to control the outlet from the app. I then disabled my phone from the WiFi network and was able to control it from the app via the cloud. So far, so good!

The switch is great , the website not so good. I applied a $10 dollar coupon upon purchase and when confirmation email came it's charging the regular price. Customer support was a joke, first one hung up on me then second one said she's with the geek squad and did not know anything about this. . . third guy could not understand what I was talking about even when he looked up the product purchased and saw my cart with coupon price then order total that was $10 dollars more. I'm not so sure that I'll be making more purchases at best buys in the future and may cancel my account after I pay my balance. I'm also going to check everything else I bought to make sure price matches and other rewards are applied correctly. Been with best buy a long time but it's getting lousy!

Very happy with this device. Easily set up; can be a bit tricky if a reset becomes necessary, but with patience it can be accomplished without too much difficulty. Multiples in use.

I love the Belkin Wemo! It's great to have several set up around the house for different lights and appliances. It's nice to have when you're away from the house and use it to turn lights on and off as if someone is still occupying the home.

I got two of these to control some lamps. The free app allows you to turn on/off from anywhere also allows you to set a schedule for the lights or whatever your controlling. Glad to see firmware updates coming from Belkin. I Would recommend this item.

Works great, easy to set up. My problem is that if you lose power or disconnect from power outlet you have to reprogram the light switch. Frustrating:(

I purchased the BayIT switches originally and they would drop off the Wireless network and then not be accessible. The Belkin has worked great so far and stays connected to the wifi network.

I am using 2 Wemo switches and 2 Wemo light switches. They were super easy to set up and work flawlessly whether using the app or voice controlled by the Amazon echo.

My schedule requires me to be gone till night time and I tend to forget to leave the indoor lights on for my dogs who are home inside while I am at work. I would come home to darkness and I felt bad that the lights were off. After some research, I found the Belkin Wemo Switch and it has worked perfectly for my needs. It connects to your Wifi network and you can customize a schedule where you can add rules to scheduling the plugs to turn on at different times. I ended up buying two and it works seamlessly. The install was easy. The instructions had like 4 steps with big photos.
